A modular and sequentially-based psychoeducational groupwork method, including the rationale for this type of work with couples in Israel, is presented. Modules of this form of groupwork are illustrated using two examples of groupwork with couples experiencing chronic post-traumatic stress disorder and groupwork with couples in low-income multiproblem neighborhoods. Issues that arise in the training of professionals to do this kind of psychoeducational groupwork in Israel are discussed. 相似文献

This paper describes many parallels between the concepts and tactics used in the arena of international politics and those used in the office of a strategic family therapist. Some of the many ideas discussed are: changing the consequences of a behavior, the Kennedy intervention, the use of signals, mystifying clarifications, and vague threats. The paper also suggests that the accumulated wisdom employed by statesmen in managing power struggles can be studied by clinicians to resolve conflict in couples and families more successfully. This article was originally presented as the Third Annual Distinguished Visitor's Lecture, Hunter College, School of Social Work, NY. 相似文献

Much of the culturally specific knowledge about helping families in Israel is not readily available; either it is not in English and often appears in local circulation publications or is interwoven in the larger fabric of family treatment literature. This paper attempts to present the knowledge about helping families that has emerged in Israel based on an extensive literature review of all known work in Hebrew and English since 1980 that is related to studying and treating family problems in Israel. Major works, particularly research findings are highlighted. Recommendations for future research in this broad area are given.Revised on October 13, 1994 forContemporary Family Therapy. This article presents a treatment model for work at home with couples in poor families on welfare that incorporates a feminist view targeting sex-role attitudes and behaviors as a central goal. A case study is presented to illustrate these principles. The work is based on both in-depth interviews with 13 Israeli couples on welfare and clinical impressions gained from the treatment of 30 Israeli couples on welfare. Poor couples are analyzed in terms of gender issues and the relationship of these issues to mental health, couple functioning, and couple interaction within the helping profession.Irit Barnea, Hannan Rosenberg, and Moshe Sens contributed to research and treatment with the couples described in this paper. 相似文献
