SOCIAL EXCHANGE AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT: DECISION-MAKING TRAINING FOR JOB CHOICE AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE REALISTIC JOB PREVIEW 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This field experiment investigated the effects of exchange-inducing treatments on pre- and postentry commitment of military recruits. Behavioral (volunteering for combat service and turnover), intentional (willingness to commit to combat service), and attitudinal (commitment, satisfaction, perceived fairness, and perceived choice variety) outcomes are examined. Two exchange-inducing experimental groups, one receiving realistic job preview and another receiving decisionmaking training, were compared to 3 control groups. Results indicated that preentry commitment was significantly higher among participants in the exchange-inducing conditions. However, the effect of decisionmaking training lasted longer than the effect of realistic job preview. 相似文献

Since the beginning of the last century, with the development of the Theory of Relativity, an ever-growing gap has come into being between our knowledge about the structure of the world around us and our ability to conceptualize it. Because language plays a major role in our ability to describe the world and our role within it, a need has been created to match the capabilities of language to the knowledge we currently possess about the world we inhabit. This article will focus on two main arguments: (A) our ability to describe and conceptualize the world using a language that is limited, problematic and finite and (B) The possibility of developing a new language based on other principles than those governing verbal speech, which can deal with these limitations and problems and which is better suited to describing the world as we know it today. 相似文献

The Israeli-Palestinian peace process is characterized by its unknown outcomes and consequences for the families involved. The purpose of this study was to identify family processes under conditions of prolonged uncertainty. Data were collected from both Israeli and Palestinian families in the West Bank by means of semi-structured interviews. Qualitative and quantitative analyses showed cross-cultural differences in the perception of the situation; different kinds of concerns and sources of stress; different coping responses; and differences in dyadic interaction patterns and intrafamily processes. The findings are discussed in social-contextual terms, particularly the ways in which political and cultural contexts shape the perception of the situation and family processes under prolonged stressful conditions. 相似文献

One way of making decisions on the basis of qualitative impressions is to identify a number of relevant dimensions, translate the impressions into quantitative ratings on each of the dimensions, and integrate the ratings using a mechanical combination scheme. The paper compares the output of this method to global (clinical) judgment. The basis for the comparison is a large database that includes both information collected in a structured interview and a relevant criterion. The results clearly suggest that mechanical combination outperforms clinical judgment, but also that the combination of both schemes produces the highest accuracy. 相似文献
