We propose here to establish the theoretical link between the concepts of ‘attitude’ and ‘social representation’. We shall base our proposal on recent conceptions of the notion of attitude, and on a structural approach to representations which account for their evaluative nature. This theoretical proposal will be followed by two experiments. The first showed that attitudes towards objects are based on the evaluative components of the representation of those objects. The second showed that a change in attitude about an object may be accompanied by changes in the evaluative dimension of its representation. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article attempts to extend prior research by testing the effects of justice components (distributive, procedural, and interactional) on customer satisfaction beyond the expectancy disconfirmation paradigm. To this end, two separate field survey studies were conducted. A total of 568 customers were surveyed in 38 hotels and 40 restaurants. The results showed that distributive justice was critical in predicting customer satisfaction, while the influence of procedural and interactional justice was secondary. Justice concepts were also robust against the simultaneous inclusion of disconfirmation and performance in the satisfaction equation. The article concludes with theoretical and managerial implications, as well as opportunities for future research.  相似文献

Conclusión Estas consideraciones pretenden apuntar que la fenomenología, como exploración de las situaciones originarias de la existencia humana y del mundo que en ella se exhibe, no es un camino cerrado. Posiblemente no lo es en la modalidad concreta con que la planteó Husserl en sus obras centrales, pero el giro que él mismo le imprimió en sus Últimos escritos y su prolongatión en manos de sus seguidores heterodoxos hace pensar que aÚn le queda una importante tarea por realizar, tal vez sin el estrépito publicitario de las filosofías que van estando de moda. Cuando menos, cubre una temática, la del análisis de las situaciones originarias, que los otros movimientos científicos o filosóficos dejan a su espalda, pero que requiere una dilucidación que les es fundamental. Recíprocamente, la fenomenología no puede continuar su camino sin tener en cuenta las sugerencias y las perspectivas que van abriendo otros movimientos doctrinales: su teoría del lenguaje puede beneficiarse ampliamente con los análisis que del mismo se verifican en otros sectores doctrinales de la semántica moderna; así como su comprensión de lo humano puede enriquecerse mediante los estudios antropológicos y sociales que ha suscitado el marxismo.  相似文献

This article investigates the ways in which players of massively multiplayer online role‐playing games (MMORPGs) internalize being a player into their self‐concept. In accordance with the social identity framework, we assume that being a player and being a member of a guild within the game can both shape the social identity of members. In two studies, we survey players inside or outside the MMORPG. Players are interviewed either at an interguild comparison level or at the more inclusive level of MMORPG players. Study 1 (n = 84) reveals favoritism for the in‐group guild in a within‐game context, and Study 2 (n = 200) shows that valuation of and identification with the in‐group are moderated by the interview context and the level of category inclusion: Inside the game, the guild is more valued and identification is emphasized. In contrast, valuation of and identification with MMORPG players is not influenced by the interview context. Together, by examining both valuation and identification processes, this research reveals that playing online games may be self‐involving because being a player, but also being a member of a guild, directly contribute to the social identity. The purpose of this article is to propose and test a model of extrarole customer service (ERCS). We propose that organizational justice (distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational) promotes well-being at work (low burnout and high engagement). Well-being at work, in turn, engenders more effective ERCS. Thus, well-being at work is considered a mediator of the relationships from organizational justice to ERCS. This fully mediated model was compared to an alternative fully direct model. The sample consisted of 317 contact employees who were working in the Spanish service sector. The results of structural equation modelling supported the importance of the mediating role of the positive side of well-being at work (engagement) in the relationship between organizational justice and ERCS. The article concludes with a discussion of the theoretical and managerial implications.  相似文献

The present study examines the congruence of individuals' minimum preferred amounts of voice with the prospect theory value function across nine countries. Accounting for previously ignored minimum preferred amounts of voice and actual voice amounts integral to testing the steepness of gain and loss functions explicated in prospect theory, we use curve fitting to show that ratings of procedural justice fit prospect theory's value function specifically. Further, we investigate the form of this function across nine countries that range in power distance. Results suggest that the form of the value function is congruent with prospect theory, showing an S‐shaped curve that is steeper in the loss than in the gain domain. Further, this pattern is similar across countries. Theoretical and practical implications of these results for both decision making and organizational justice are discussed. In this study, participants (n = 125) were shown a sequence of four images illustrating the medication scenario. Depending on the results of a pre-test (n = 384), the sequence is composed of typical images, non-typical images or mixed. Depending on the case, the instructions given to the participants are neutral, or it induces the representation of the drug. Participants must identify the scenario described in the sequence of images proposed to them. The sequence of typical images gives rise to the better identification. The mixed sequence gives rise to comparable scores following non-typical images when the instruction is neutral and to comparable scores following typical images when the instruction induces the representation of the drug.  相似文献

Mergers are characterized by a regrouping of organizations, which do not have the same cultures. The question of the future of these different cultures therefore arises. An observational study was conducted based on the theory of the Central Core, selected to examine the organisational cultures. It consisted of comparing the initial cultures of two firms selected to merge and that of a group made up of employees of the two organizations and who worked together for six months. We observed a transformation of the central core of these employees' social representations. This preliminary study showed the relevance of the use of the theory of the Central Core in the study of cultural changes.  相似文献

Although the use of repertory grids in psychological research has proliferated, studies of their psychometric properties are relatively rare. For this reason, we studied the reliability and convergence of several measures of cognitive structure derived from grids, including intensity, percentage of variance accounted for by the first component, cognitive complexity, ordination, extremity of ratings, self-ideal discrepancy, and self-other discrepancy, as well two measures of rating stability, construct consistency and factor loading consistency. Eighty-two Spanish (Catalan) and American participants completed small and large grids on each of four occasions, which enabled exploratory analyses of the impact of grid size and subject characteristics on the structural scores obtained. Results indicated that the majority of scores showed impressive test-relest reliability (modal r = .85 for periods up to 1 month), but also suggested a gradual tightening effect across subsequent administrations. In general, scores intercorrelated in theoretically anticipated ways, converging on the assessment of cognitive differentiation and discrimination of elements within construct dimensions. The results have implications for the reactivity of structural scores to variations in grid format, as well as for use of grids in the study of sex differences and cross-cultural comparisons.  相似文献
