郭象对"性"的解释及其在中国哲学史上的意义

一、序言:玄学自春秋战国时期开始的中国固有的哲学到郭象(252~312)便告一段落。①这并不是说中国思想终结了,而是说春秋战国时期由老子和孔子等诸子提出的思维方式和哲学思想经过汉代的宇宙发生论,到魏晋时期呈现出向本体论发展的倾向,并最终精炼为中国式的抽象思维。中国哲学经历汉代和魏晋时期,将春秋战国时期分散的多样性简化为在某种程度上统一性的多样性。这种统一性的多样性从学派来看,大致可以理解为儒家式思维和道家式思维的对立。汉初的黄老学是先秦道家的现实转变,而武帝为巩固中央集权的官僚体制而推行的“独尊儒术”,是先秦儒…     

Cultural Differences in Preference for Entertainment Messages That Induce Mixed Responses of Joy and Sorrow

Two cross‐cultural studies were conducted to explore how affective states from viewing favorite entertainment messages vary as a function of culture. Koreans were more likely than U.S. Americans to prefer entertainment messages that induce conflicting responses (e.g., feeling positive and negative, laughing and crying). Furthermore, this cultural difference was larger for positively valenced (i.e., comedy) than for negatively valenced message (i.e., sad films). Naïve dialecticism held by East Asians that treats these contradictory responses as balance, harmony, and moderation was introduced as a plausible explanatory mechanism.     

Evaluation of the 14-h together relationship and financial education program for couples

A 14-h version of TOGETHER, a relationship and financial education program for couples (Author, 2015), was evaluated by comparing pre- and post-intervention changes in psychological distress, relationship functioning, and financial management in couples that participated in this shorter 14-h workshop (14HW) version, in the original 20-h workshop (20HW) version, or in a control group that received no intervention. The total sample included 649 community couples (14HW group: 320; 20HW group:182; control group: 147) recruited from the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. Self-report data were analyzed through dyadic multilevel models to test mean differences within each group (control, 14HW, and 20HW) and across groups from pre-intervention to post-intervention controlling for demographic differences and baseline measurement of variables. Compared to the 20HW version, the 14HW format had lower attrition and greater participation. In addition, improvements in positive conflict management, relationship quality and satisfaction, and commitment, and reductions in negative conflict management and difficulties paying bills were not significantly different from the 20HW group, but they were significantly different from the control group. Participants reported high levels of program satisfaction. Limitations and programmatic implications, as well as the need for further evaluations of the 14HW version, are discussed.     

Software Piracy among Korean Adolescents: Lessons from Panel Data

The purpose of this study was to examine the determinants of adolescents’ software piracy over time and discover gender differences based on Self-Control and Problem Behavior theories. Using the Korean Youth Panel Survey data, both random and fixed effects models were estimated although this study focused on within effects. Findings showed that increases in problematic off-line behavior, psychological health problems, and time spent on computers, as well as decrease in self-control, increased the likelihood of computer piracy among Korean adolescents. Additional analyses identified gender differences. Implications for policy and future research as well as limitations are discussed.
