Abstract:   To examine the determinants of the Ponzo illusion, we compared the perceived size of lines and circles presented within three different frames: two converging lines, two circles, and two squares. Twenty stimulus figures, consisting of two types of objects (lines/circles) × three types of frame figures (Ponzo/circles/squares) × three sizes of lower frames (small/medium/large), and two control figures were presented on a personal computer display. Twelve students performed three measurements (upper-object/lower-object/illusion) for each stimulus figure using the method of adjustment. To analyze the relationship between single object perception and the Ponzo illusion, we compared the calculated values of overestimation magnitude differences between the upper and lower objects with the actual obtained illusion values of the six object-frame conditions. The calculated values of the circle and the square frame figures corresponded to the difference between the upper single object and the lower single object. In contrast, the results of the Ponzo figure need an additional factor to explain the differences between the obtained and the calculated values. These results indicate that two factors are involved in the Ponzo illusion: (a) the framing effect affects the perceived size of the individual single objects, and (b) the comparison factor affects the comparison process of the two objects within the converging lines.  相似文献

采用变化觉察范式,通过两个实验对不同类型视觉信息在工作记忆中的存储机制进行了探讨。实验一中要求记忆的客体由颜色和形状两基本特征构成;实验二中的客体为具有不同颜色及开口朝向的兰道环。通过观察检测项变化方式对记忆绩效的影响,获得以下结论:(1)对颜色和形状两基本特征的存储以整合客体为单位;(2)兰道环的颜色与开口朝向信息难以以整合客体方式存储。笔者推测,视觉工作记忆中存储的整合客体并非如现有理论假设的,是在集中注意参与下创建的,而是由并行加工阶段所获信息构成;客体中所含需集中注意提取的细节特征信息难以与其基本特征信息整合于该客体表征  相似文献

视觉标记是国外新近提出的有关注意选择机制的一种假设。该假设认为,在任务目标预先设定的条件下视觉系统是通过抑制旧刺激所处的位置来实现对新刺激的优先选择。本文主要介绍了视觉标记研究的经典实验范式、视觉标记理论的行为实验依据和脑成像实验依据,还概述了三种质疑视觉标记理论的观点。最后对视觉标记的未来研究做了展望。  相似文献

自Luck等人的研究以来,诸多研究者对客体信息在视觉工作记忆中的表征与存储问题进行了探讨。现有研究主要采用呈现于静态场景的客体作为刺激材料,而不涉及对客体运动特征信息的短时存储。本研究结合多客体追踪范式和视觉工作记忆的变化觉察范式,通过比较检测项全部呈现方式与单检测项呈现方式条件下,客体运动速度的视觉工作记忆绩效,探讨了多个客体的运动速度信息在工作记忆中的存储方式和容量问题。结果表明,在工作记忆中能够存储约3仑独立客体的运动速度信息。  相似文献

Observers viewed animation sequences consisting of random dots, some of which moved coherently in a given direction (signal dots) and the rest of which moved randomly (noise dots). Using forced-choice procedures, detectability of weak signals within noise was measured for translation, rotation, and expansion/contraction. Sensitivity to all motion types was approximately equal, with practiced observers reliably detecting coherent motion at signal levels as low as 4%. Observers were able to identify the motion structure presented on a given trial at signal levels corresponding to the detection threshold, implying that the neural signals supporting detection are labeled for motion type. Results are discussed in the context of hierarchical analysis of optic flow in which all motion types are registered as patterns of activity among neurons comprising a single mechanism.  相似文献

通过事件相关电位(ERP)记录研究注意的空间等级的脑内时程动态变化。视觉搜索任务的目标受不同大小提示范围的启动。提示范围增大时,识别目标的反应时延长,P1波幅增大而N1波幅减小,该效应在短间隔条件下尤为明显。P1增大反映了促进目标识别时,适当注意范围的空间等级变化需要额外的运算资源。而N1波幅减小则可能扩散了空间注意倾斜。研究结果提供了以下电生理学证据:注意空间等级的改变调节了早期视皮层的神经活动,并激活了视觉搜索中至少2个时间重叠的ERP成分。  相似文献

IntroductionOne of the most persistent difficulties in French written language acquisition is lexical orthographic memorization. Both theoretical models and behavioral studies have suggested that simultaneous visual processing of all the letters of a word could be important for the acquisition of its orthographic form.Main goalTwo experiments are conducted to test this whole-word visual processing hypothesis.MethodThe paradigm used in both experiments is a self-teaching paradigm in which adult participants had to read orthographically complex bisyllabic pseudowords in isolation. In one reading condition, all the letters of the item are available at once, in the other the first and second syllables are seen successively. After reading, participants had to spell under dictation and to recognize the written items.ResultsGlobally, the results showed that participants better recall the orthographic form of a word after having read it in the whole-word reading condition. The result of the recognition task, in the second experiment, was in line with the result of the spelling under dictation task.ConclusionThese results, although they should be interpreted with caution, are in line with the whole-word visual processing hypothesis. Applied consequences for orthographic learning and teaching, as for remediation of specific orthographic disabilities, are discussed.  相似文献

The cognitive interview utilises mnemonics and other techniques to facilitate obtaining information from victims and witnesses. Research has indicated superior recall to standard police interviews. However, there has been minimal research regarding the role of individual differences. One area that has generated spirited theoretical debate is imagery ability, as guided imagery questioning is an important part of the enhanced cognitive interview. Imagery is also arguably an integral part of several mnemonics employed in the technique. The present study investigated the role of individual differences in imagery ability, as well as the effect of explicit instructions to image, on recall performance. Participants completed the Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire (VVIQ), witnessed a film of a simulated crime, and were interviewed using the cognitive interview or a structured interview. While recall in the cognitive interview was superior, VVIQ scores had little relationship with recall of information. Further, recall elicited by guided imagery differed only minimally from that obtained using standard questioning in the structured interview. These results suggested that the relaxation and rapport building common to questioning in both interview conditions may evoke spontaneous imagery that is comparable to explicit instructions to image, regardless of individuals' inherent imagery ability. Future directions are discussed, including research focused on individual differences and a practical emphasis on context reinstatement and social facilitative techniques. 实验采用RSVP任务,考察了汉字加工中呈现速率对重复知盲效应的影响,结果发现:(1)在加工汉字重复刺激时,存在着重复知肓(RB)效应,其强度随着呈现速率的变化而改变,当呈现速率较快时,正确率较低,呈现速率较慢时,正确率较高;(2)与加工英文信息比较,在汉字加工中,RB效应的出现似乎推迟了一段时间,这可能从另一方面反映出加工汉字比英文需要不同的加工时间.即加工信息的难易程度也影响RB效应出现的时间。  相似文献

使用半视野速示技术和启动—再认探测方法,采用包含两个句子的短语篇作为前行信息、通过主题启动、歧义词启动探测语段阅读时主题表征在大脑两半球的存贮情况,结果发现,无论是主题启动还是歧义词启动,左视野/右半脑和右视野/左半脑对语境相关的目标词反应时间都比不一致目标词更长,说明语段阅读后两半脑对主题表征都有存贮。  相似文献
