It is well-known that recovery from work and job resources can counteract negative effects of high job demands, but less is known about how off-job recovery and job resources are related to each other. In this two-level daily diary study, 67 employees filled out daily surveys over the course of 8 days to examine this issue. Consistent with our expectations, multilevel analyses revealed that previous day’s detachment from work is positively related to the state of being recovered before going to work, and that the state of being recovered is positively related to one’s level of job resources. Moreover, the results indicated that both person-level differences and day-level dynamics play a role in these relations. Our study highlights the importance of recovering from work in the sense that it does not only help individuals by repairing negative strain effects but can also function as a catalyst in the activation of job resources. 相似文献

Current parent–adolescent behavioral interaction research highlights the importance of three elements of behavior in defining
adaptive interactions: autonomy, control, and warmth vs. hostility. However, this research has largely addressed the developmental
needs and psychosocial outcomes of adolescents, as opposed to parents, with a focus on how parent and adolescent behaviors
influence adolescent adaptation. This paper utilizes both adolescent and mid-life developmental research, as well as parent–adolescent
interaction research, to introduce a model for conceptualizing parent–adolescent interactions as a transactional process in
which both parental and adolescent development are considered. Further, ideas are presented describing how adaptive parent–adolescent
interactions may change across adolescence. The concept of collaboration is proposed as a conceptual tool for assessing one
form of adaptive parent–adolescent interactions. The structural analysis of social behavior (SASB) is presented as a model

We addressed the question of whether mothers of conduct-problem (CP) children differ from mothers of non-CP children in their awareness and coaching of emotion, and also examined whether mother's awareness and coaching of emotion is associated with better peer relations in CP children. Meta-emotion philosophy, assessed through audio taped interviews, and preschool children's peer relations, observed in same-sex dyadic interaction with a close friend, were investigated in families with CP and non-CP children. Results indicated that mothers of CP children were less aware of their own emotions and less coaching of their children's emotions than mothers of non-CP children. Moderation analyses revealed that children's level of aggression moderated the relationship between mother's meta-emotion and children's peer play. For both aggressive and nonaggressive children, higher levels of mother awareness and coaching of emotion was associated with more positive and less negative peer play, although effects were stronger for families with nonaggressive children. These data suggest that both aggressive and nonaggressive children can benefit when parents are more aware and coaching of emotion. Implications for the development of an intervention program aimed at improving parental awareness and coaching of emotion is discussed. 相似文献

The parent–therapist relationship is a central consideration in child counselling and psychotherapy, particularly in private practice where parents are typically financially, emotionally and practically invested in the process. The relationship, which can be ambiguous and anxiety-laden on both sides, has historically received scant attention in therapeutic discourse, leading to gaps in practitioner confidence and training. In this context, and seeking to centre parent voices, this study provides an interpretative phenomenological analysis of four mothers' experiences of their role in the relationship with their child's therapist. Key identified themes encompass parental expectation of involvement; the destabilising, disorienting nature of the relationship; the centrality of trust; and critical evaluations of value. Findings are discussed in relation to attachment theory and cultural expectations of parental responsibility. The study concludes that the relationship is a live and potent property with potential to impact the course of the intervention, and recommends that practitioners thoughtfully consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of meeting or frustrating parental involvement expectations. 相似文献

The authors investigated the complex relationships of parental attitudes toward apologies, empathy, shame, guilt, and the parent's attachment orientation. Survey responses were obtained from 327 parents. A path analysis of the developed model demonstrated a close model fit (root‐mean‐square error of approximation = .07; comparative fit index = .93; incremental fit index = .94; χ2 = 30.71, p < .001), supporting previous research on apologies as beneficial to relationships. A parent's proclivity toward apologies, positively influenced by empathy and guilt and negatively influenced by shame‐withdraw behaviors, produced a more secure parent–child attachment. 相似文献

Relations with Parents and with Peers,Temperament, and Trajectories of Depressed Mood During Early Adolescence 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The present study examined (a) whether groups of children can be empirically identified with distinct longitudinal profiles
of depressed mood from late childhood through early adolescence, (b) to what extent these different longitudinal depression
profiles are predicted by problematic relations with parents, same-sex peers, and other-sex peers, and (c) what role individuals'
temperamental characteristics play in this context. Based on a sample of 414 early adolescents (197 girls), four groups were
identified with distinct longitudinal profiles of depressed mood between ages 11 and 14: One group with consistently low levels
of depressed mood, another with consistently moderate levels of depressed mood, a third group whose depressed mood increased
sharply from late childhood through early adolescence, and a fourth group who already showed clinical-range levels of depressed
mood during late childhood and whose depressive feelings increased even slightly more thereafter. Subsequent analyses revealed
that rejection by same-sex peers was related to the odds of following an increasing trajectory of depressed mood, but only
for girls with a highly reactive temperament. A problematic relationship with parents increased the odds of an elevated trajectory
of depressed mood regardless of individual temperament. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed. 相似文献
