This article is about a case of successful introduction of a technological change in a police department. It presents the links observed between the approach used to manage the transition and the perception that end-users reported regarding their stress, their health condition, and their efficiency at work. End-users of the new system reported a high level of satisfaction towards the method used, with few problems related to their stress, their health condition, and their global efficiency. People who reported such problems also reported more problems integrating the change. Close guidance provided to workers at field level and active support to enhance a fast mastering of the new skills seem to have played a major role. 相似文献

As regards human cloning, should the convention process – which failed at UN level following several years of procrastination – be relaunched? A United Nations University report (September 2007) and, subsequently, certain reflections on behalf of the International Bioethics Committee, point to the fact that an international convention, banning human reproductive cloning, could emerge in the near future. This convention – the content of which calls for pragmatism and humanism – is at the convergence of several choices. Even though the institutional framework of the UNESCO appears more suitable than that of the United Nations Organization, ambiguities remain regarding convention policy that need to be carefully considered: should a treaty only ban reproductive cloning, without considering, in the same treaty, regulations governing therapeutic cloning, or should both reproductive and therapeutic cloning be approached in a single treaty instrument? 相似文献

This research explores the expectations of recruiters in terms of what they think are prerequisite qualifications of applicants at different job levels. The professional recruiters (N=384) practicing in France, read a job profile (managers or blue-collar workers) and subsequently indicated the five most advisable and inadvisable characteristics for performance on the job. The results confirm our hypothesis and are evidence of a strong prevalence of personality traits in recruiters’ choices. Moreover, the profiles of the « ideal » and « unacceptable » personality mentioned by the recruiters differ according to the job level. Finally, for the management level as well as for the blue-collar worker level, the « ideal » profile is not a simple reversal of the « unacceptable » profile, each profile implies specific personality traits. 相似文献

This article presents an ongoing research regarding work-related health issues as they are perceived and identified by professionals practicing in occupational health services. The study is based on interviews with occupational doctors, nurses, technicians in prevention of occupational hazards and assistants, employed in two general services. The article starts with an overview of the recent changes in the workplace and in the practicing conditions of the professionals in the services. It then analyses the types of issues they identify among the employees they have in charge. This article recalls the history of the relationships between the World Council of Churches (WCC) and Pentecostal churches from the early years of the WCC until today. One of the greatest challenges currently facing the WCC is the shift in focus of Christianity to the South and the East, a phenomenon to which emerging Pentecostal and charismatic churches and communities are contributing. Alongside global cultural trends in the context of globalization, Pentecostal and charismatic piety and spirituality are increasingly affecting the older churches as well. While some see this negatively, many see it as an expression of adaptation to new challenges necessary for the survival of these churches. The article shows how the changing ecclesial context led to the WCC to explore new avenues for building relationships such as a Joint Consultative Group and the Global Christian Forum. 相似文献
