Restorying family therapy

This article describes a multi-systemic model of therapy developed by the author over the past decade and summarizes the main products of this project: Explication of key family systems notions, strategic family play therapy, multi-systemic therapy, and culturally-competent family therapy. The model incorporates beyond the family system, culture, wider ecosystems, psychodynamics, and the individual's neuropsychological, cognitive, and socio-emotional development. The model enables the therapist to design flexible multimodal interventions.     

Beyond commitment: entrenchment in the buyer–seller exchange

A specific empirical finding in the buyer–seller literature – initially discovered by Moorman, Zaltman, and Deshpande and subsequently replicated by Grayson and Ambler – still suffers from incomplete explanation. In business-to-business marketing, why do some long-term buyers appear to trust their providers a great deal but not use the service provided? This research endeavours to more fully explain this ‘dark side’ of relationship selling by integrating work on the economic theory of entrenchment with Dwyer, Schurr, and Oh's seminal buyer–seller framework. The result is a modified conceptual model of the buyer–seller exchange in which potential seller entrenchment follows Dwyer et al.'s courting and commitment stages. Motivated by Dwyer et al.'s urging to examine their model using a negotiation lens, this research then borrows two contrasting orientations from the negotiation literature and offers propositions regarding how buyers and sellers interact at each stage of the exchange. In addition to enriching understanding of how buyers and sellers negotiate in the courting and commitment stages, this research is the first to offer insight into how both sides might negotiate when faced with seller entrenchment.     

也谈慢性心衰中西医结合治疗的临床策略

着眼于目前中西医结合治疗慢性心力衰竭（CHF）的困惑所在,提出了几点临床策略：（1）抓预防,做好慢性心衰一级预防;（2）开展大规模流调,规范证候辨识标准;（3）挖掘和整理地区验方;（4）发挥行业协会作用,探索多方力量参与验方筛选与评价;并提出充分发挥中西医结合的诊疗特色,重点优化CHF的中西医结合诊疗方案和评价方法符合我国基本国情.

SUMMARY

One of Virginia Satir's greatest gifts to the world was the use of herself as an instrument of healing. By daring to use all of her-self-body, mind and spirit-the connections Virginia made with others were warm and real. Besides being authentically caring, Satir worked out of a pluralistic and comprehensive theoretical base to individualize each intervention. By co-creating strong, trusting relationships she inspirited others with her own life-force energy, and enabled them to become more fully human. Able to put her own ego needs aside, Virginia modeled how to join common sense with a sense of high purpose.     

Science and the Art of Healing: A Contribution to the History of Life Science

In conventional medicine, healing is effected mainly by treating the symptoms of the physical body disease, while in mind–body medicine the cure is performed by the mind itself (thoughts and emotions). In fact, the holographic mind theory claims that the mind could be either the healer or the slayer. Thus, this article is a contribution toward a more in-depth study of this theme of conventional medicine versus mind–body medicine, particularly to understand the gifts of quantum physics to life science and the art of healing, so that we might find an integrative medicine model (a holistic approach to health) that could explain some “incurable” diseases.     

Communication with Older Persons: Part I-Looking Within

ABSTRACT

How is healthy (salugenic) religion to be distinguished from sick (pathogenic) religion in modern life? Humanistic psychology and religion have benchmarks by which they can be defined. The healthy religion indicators can be related to aging and to physical wellness or wholeness. Such a correlation is especially helpful in a changing 21st century world.     

Theoretical counselling orientations of teachers in Hong Kong

Thirty-seven Chinese teacher-counsellors in Hong Kong were assessed on their theoretical orientations using a 45-item self-report checklist at the beginning of their advanced training and at the end of a course on counselling theories. Based on their ratings on nine theoretical orientations, it could be inferred that the beliefs and values of these teachers were most congruent with those of the Person-Centred approach. With ratings above a cutoff score as endorsement, teachers were found to endorse more orientations in the post-course assessment, reflecting an increase in flexibility in approach. Despite the fact that teachers’ reported self-efficacy toward helping significantly increased in post-course assessment, teachers’ membership in low, medium, and high self-efficacy groups did not have any bearing on teachers’ changes in flexibility in approach or changes in primary approach. Implications of the findings for understanding teacher-counsellors’ process of finding an integrative approach personally meaningful for their future practice are discussed.     

对整合模型和占优启发式模型的检验：基于信息加工过程的眼动研究证据

基于信息加工过程视角, 本研究采用眼动技术检验风险决策整合模型和占优启发式模型。结果表明, 自主决策任务条件下决策过程反应时及信息搜索模式均不同于期望价值(EV)迫选任务条件下的决策过程反应时及信息搜索模式; 自主决策任务条件下决策过程反应时并未随着选项间整体值(CPT值)差值的变大而变快, 且基于特征(attribute-based)的信息搜索多于基于选项(option-based)的信息搜索, 不符合整合模型预期。此外, 决策者亦未按照占优启发式模型所假定的决策步骤进行决策。基于信息加工过程的检验结果既不利于以累积预期理论为代表的整合模型, 亦不利于占优启发式模型。文章建议从决策过程视角检验已有决策模型及建立新的启发式决策过程模型(process model)。     

小学生学习适应问题的整合性教育干预实验研究

运用专题辅导、个别咨询辅导和家庭间接辅导相结合的整合性教育干预模式提高小学生学习适应能力。实验结果表明：(1)整合性教育干预能有效提高小学生的学习适应性整体水平;(2)干预措施对学习适应低水平组学生的促进效果较为显着。     

多元整合元分析法评介

在传统元分析中, 每个研究只能提取一个效果量, 以满足各效果量相互独立的条件。若出现单个研究多效果量的情况, 就需要采用多元元分析技术予以处理。多元元分析主要包括多元线性模型法和多元整合法, 其中, 多元整合法是应用最为广泛的一种方法, 可较为有效地解决多效果量非独立性问题, 还可借助传统元分析的固定效应模型和混合效应模型进行统计分析。但多元整合法在应用中还存在着统计软件的开发问题、同质性Q检验显著性的稳定问题、不同质混合效果量的同质性检验的可行性问题。
