In all 102 participants completed 2 intelligence tests, a self-estimated domain-masculine (DMIQ) intelligence rating (which is a composite of self-rated mathematical–logical and spatial intelligence), a measure of self-esteem, and of self-control. The aim was to confirm and extend previous findings about the role of general intelligence and gender identity in self-assessed intelligence. It aimed to examine further correlates of the Hubris-Humility Effect that shows men believe they are more intelligent than women. The DMIQ scores were correlated significantly with gender, psychometrically assessed IQ, and masculinity but not self-esteem or self-control. Stepwise regressions indicated that gender and gender role were the strongest predictors of DMIQ accounting for a third of the variance.  相似文献

The aim of this essay is to clarify Nāgārjuna’s use of the term gt;pratijñāgt; (thesis) in verse 29 of the gt;Vigrahavyāvartanīgt; (gt;VVgt;) as situated in its contemporaneous thriving debate culture. In contrast to the standard formulation, which interprets the term gt;pratijñāgt; as a reference to the thesis of gt;?ūnyatāgt; (emptiness) proffered by Nāgārjuna in the gt;Mūlamadhyamakakārikāgt;, an examination of the debate culture in, and leading up to, second-century CE India shows that the term gt;pratijñāgt; refers to the first of five steps within the Nyaya five-membered syllogism as it functions within a gt;vita??āgt; form of debate. Through an examination of the context in which this verse was written, the association made between Nāgārjuna’s use of gt;pratijñāgt; in the gt;VVgt; and gt;?ūnyatāgt; within other texts becomes dislodged, thereby demonstrating the inadequacy of the standard formulation and the need for a revised understanding of the intent of the gt;VVgt;.  相似文献

The goal of this two-part series of papers is to show that constructive logic with strong negation gt;Ngt; is definitionally equivalent to a certain axiomatic extension gt;NFLgt; gt; gt;ewgt; gt; of the substructural logic gt;FLgt; gt; gt;ewgt; gt;. The main result of Part I of this series [41] shows that the equivalent variety semantics of gt;Ngt; (namely, the variety of Nelson algebras) and the equivalent variety semantics of gt;NFLgt; gt; gt;ewgt; gt; (namely, a certain variety of FLgt; gt;ewgt; gt;-algebras) are term equivalent. In this paper, the term equivalence result of Part I [41] is lifted to the setting of deductive systems to establish the definitional equivalence of the logics gt;Ngt; and gt;NFLgt; gt; gt;ewgt; gt;. There is a strong tendency for the same people to do better or worse on a wide variety of IQ tests. On this basis, some psychologists posit the concept of g , or a general intelligence factor. Does g show that performance on a wide range of cognitive tasks is influenced by individual differences in brain quality? It may, but if so, g lacks a sociological dimension and cannot explain cognitive trends over time or assess their significance. We assessed parent satisfaction with childreng src="/content/g27237722440136r/xxlarge8217.gif" alt="rsquo" align="BASELINE" BORDER="0">s mental health services with a new instrument: The Youth Services Survey for Families (YSSF). The Dillman method was used to administer the survey to a random sample of 1,500 parents of Medicaid youth from Kentuckyg src="/content/g27237722440136r/xxlarge8217.gif" alt="rsquo" align="BASELINE" BORDER="0">s 14 community mental health centers (CMHCs). The response rate was 37% (n = 534 parents). A factor analysis of YSSF identified five parent-perceived factors: (a) Appropriateness, (b) Outcome, (c) Participation in Treatment, (d) Access, and (e) Cultural Sensitivity. About 70% of parents reported a high level of endorsement with the Appropriateness factor, but only 47% reported high levels of endorsement with the Outcome factor. Results were interpreted as providing support for the reliability of the YSSF in evaluating childreng src="/content/g27237722440136r/xxlarge8217.gif" alt="rsquo" align="BASELINE" BORDER="0">s mental health services in CMHCs.  相似文献

考试抄袭统计量是专门用于识别抄袭的统计指标。它们是以被怀疑抄袭者和抄袭来源匹配反应的数目为基础建立的,按其考虑的匹配反应信息可分为两类:一类只考虑被怀疑抄袭者和抄袭来源间的错误答案匹配;另一类同时考虑两者错误答案匹配和正确答案匹配。由于第一类抄袭统计量对那些只从抄袭来源处抄袭正确答案的抄袭者检测不敏感,所以存在缺陷;第二类抄袭统计量兼顾两种匹配,考虑的信息更全面。s2、g2、ω是具有代表性的第二类抄袭统计量,它们在测量理论基础、被怀疑抄袭者和抄袭来源的异常相似反应模式确定方法及考试抄袭检测效能等方面存在差异,在抄袭识别应用中应合理选择。  相似文献

However, it is generally studied in relation to either personality or the g factor, with far fewer studies of the interconnections between FDI, the g factor and problem-solving strategies.gt;Objectivegt;Our first aim was to study the relationship between FDI and the g factor.
