We used an A-B-A design to evaluate the effects of two commonly used promotional activities-price reduction and increased exposure, in combination and separately-on sales and thefts of candy at a grocery store. The combination of activities and the increased exposure condition produced the greatest increases in sales. A multiracial/multiethnic sample of middle school adolescents and their teachers was used to assess whether teacher ratings
of student behavior problems varied according to teacher-student racial/ethnic differences and students' perception of teachers'
attitudes toward them. No significant mean score differences were found for Hispanic or non-Hispanic white students according
to the race/ethnicity of the teachers doing the ratings. However, African American students rated by Hispanic and non-Hispanic
white teachers had significantly higher mean total behavior problem scores than African American students rated by African
American teachers. Teacher ratings were also compared to those made by parents. The percentage of students rated as cases
by teachers but not by parents differed significantly by race/ethnicity of student. Other findings indicated highly significant
relationships between student-perceived teacher disparagement and the assignment of high behavior problem scores to students
by teachers.

John Beebe speaks with Beverley Zabriskie about the central motifs of his life and depth psychological experience, and how these informed his choice of vocation as psychiatrist, Jungian analyst, educator and author. Dr. Beebe narrates how he moved beyond the fate assigned the son of a needy mother and abandoning father. He illustrates how the role his family expected him to fill constellated archetypal motifs--the magical or divine curative child, the whiz kid--from which he had then to disidentify for the sake of becoming an individual with a personal voice and capacity to express his own true values. He tells of his differentiation and search for completion through the perspective of Jung's psychological types theory. He also reflects on the evolution of Jungian analytic theory and practice generally, his editorship of the JAP and the San Francisco Jung Institute Library Journal, his confrontation with analytic homophobia, and the emerging quality of professional and personal relationships in relation to ethics and to love. This study examined parental functioning and interactions with young children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), with emphasis on differences between mothers and fathers in their responses to their child and in their unique contributions to the prediction of child disruptive behavior. Participants were 53 3- to 6-year olds with ODD who presented for treatment with two parents. Mothers reported more severe disruptive behavior and higher parenting stress than fathers. During parent-child interactions, mothers showed more responsiveness than fathers, even though children were more compliant during interactions with fathers. Regression analyses showed that fathers' parent-related stress was predictive of both mothers' and father's reports of disruptive child behavior; mothers' marital satisfaction was predictive of behavioral observations of child compliance with both mothers and fathers. This study revealed several important differences in the experiences of mothers versus fathers of disruptive children and indicates the importance of including the father in the child's assessment and treatment. 相似文献

The author wants to show the influence that the historical acknowledgement of child therapy at the Jerusalem IAAP Congress in 1983 has had today on the Jungian world, especially on the clinical approach to their patients by analysts working only with adult patients. If her conclusions do not allow her to dissociate the strong influence on psychoanalysis of contemporary research on attachment theory and mother-child relationship from a specific Jungian child therapists' perspective, she points out, through three examples from Jungian literature, how the need for a metapsychology of development and the study of primary and personal aspects of the patient's life are explicit in the work and research of analysts working with adults. 相似文献

This study evaluated the post-treatment outcome effects of a classroom-based social skills program for pre-kindergarten children,
using a teacher-consultation model. The pre-K RECAP (Reaching Educators, Children, and Parents) program is a semi-structured,
cognitive-behavioral skills training program that provides teachers with in-classroom consultation on program implementation
and classroom-wide behavior management. Data on children's social skills and behavior problems were collected from parents
and teachers at pre- and post-treatment, for 149 children aged 4–5 years (of whom 56% were girls). Significant treatment effects
were found for teacher but not parent reports, with treatment group children improving significantly more than comparison
group children in their teacher-rated social skills and internalizing and externalizing problems. These results provide some
preliminary support for the efficacy of the program on children's social skills and behavior problems, and for a teacher-consultation
model for training teachers to implement school-based mental health programs. 相似文献

Conduct disorder is associated with several causative and maintaining factors, with family functioning being an important
one. This is especially true in the Indian context, where a lot of the problem behaviors manifested by adolescents with conduct
disorders are in the family context. Marital relationship of the parents is a key aspect of family functioning, affecting
a number of other dimensions of family functioning, including adolescent adjustment. The paper highlights the role of parents’
marital conflict in the emergence and maintenance of adolescent conduct problems. The importance of family therapy in managing
adolescent conduct disorder is discussed through case examples from India.
