This paper illustrates how couple and individual treatment formats can be intertwined. A conflict resolution theoretical framework structures treatment around three goals: (1) relieving symptoms (anger, depression, and marital distress), (2) facilitating resolution of the couple's conflicts, and (3) building communication and conflict resolution skills. The literature review focuses on why combining individual and couple therapy is often important for married clients. Two Bicycles, an illustrative case incorporating both conjoint and individual interventions, is presented and analyzed with regard to when each format seems beneficial. Ethical and practical issues raised by dual format treatment include potential harm, informed consent, dual roles, confidentiality, and time and financial costs. 相似文献

The purpose of this research was to develop a structural equation model that tested the effects of emotional reactivity on
the relational health of a representative sample of 736 premarital couples. We hypothesized that partners’ perceived family-of-origin
experience would be predictive of partners’ reports of their own and their partners’ emotional reactivity. These reports were
hypothesized to predict partners’ reports of their own and their partners’ ability to manage conflict, which were hypothesized
to predict relationship satisfaction. Overall, the model fit the data quite well, with particularly interesting differences
by gender. We discuss the model’s fit within the larger body of literature, the potential implications and limitations of
our findings, and future research considerations.

A growing number of clinicians are making the transition from therapist to executive coach. High-powered executives are exceptionally
receptive to the very straightforward and pragmatic approach of REBT. However, to be successful, even a REBT trained clinician
had best adapt his approach to the executive client. The primary focus needs to be on more effective and efficient job performance,
not on helping the client feel better. Although these executives believe many of the same irrational beliefs as one’s clinical
clients, the REBT coach can effectively illustrate how each of these beliefs contributes to specific job related problems
which the executive had best resolve. Teaching executives to challenge their ideas, then assigning work-related action plans,
usually results in enhanced performance, which convinces even skeptical executives that coaching is a useful endeavor. Coaching
has an advantage over therapy in that the coach can observe their client in numerous work situations (meetings, presentations,
performance reviews) and give constructive feedback, and actually monitor additional progress. It is an exciting field that
many clinicians find extremely challenging and stimulating.

This study examined the development of adolescents' conflict frequency and conflict resolution with their best friends, and tested whether adolescents with different personality types differed in these developmental changes from early to middle adolescence. Dutch adolescents (N = 922, 468 boys; Mage = 12.4 years at first wave) annually filled in questionnaires for five consecutive years. Growth modelling revealed that, whereas adolescents' conflict frequency and hostile conflict resolution did not change, positive problem solving, withdrawal, and compliance during conflict with best friends increased from age 12 to 16 years. Adolescents with different personality types differed in the mean levels of conflict frequency and conflict resolution strategies. That is, resilients had less conflict with friends than undercontrollers and overcontrollers. During conflict, resilients used the least hostile conflict resolution and compliance, and employed the most positive problem solving. Undercontrollers adopted the least positive problem solving, and overcontrollers complied and withdrew the most. Using a person‐centred approach, three developmental conflict resolution types were identified based on different constellations of the four conflict resolution strategies over time. 为总结肺微小浸润腺癌(MIA)、原位腺癌(AIS)及不典型腺瘤样增生(AAH)结节的HRCT影像特征,回顾性收集43例术前2周内行HRCT检查、经胸腔镜切除、组织病理学证实的50个肺结节,分析结节大小、成分及内部特征.结果显示所有AAH表现为纯磨玻璃结节(pGGN),且≤1.0cm,空气支气管征未见,空泡征少见;86%AIS表现为pGGN,71%的AIS≤1.0cm,且空泡征常见(相对于AAH);95%的MIA表现为混合磨玻璃结节(mGGN),其余为实性结节,90%的MIA>1.0cm,空气支气管征常见(相对于AIS).因此结节的大小、成分、空泡征及空气支气管征在一定程度上有助于MIA、AIS及AAH的鉴别. 相似文献

Life expectancy is constantly increasing. However, a longer life not always corresponds to a healthier life. Indeed, even normal aging is associated with a decline in different cognitive functions. It has been proposed that a central mechanism that could contribute to this widespread cognitive decline is an ineffective inhibitory attentional control. Meditation, to the other hand, has been associated, in young adults, to enhancement of several attentional processes. Nevertheless, attention is not a unitary construct. An influent model proposed the distinction of three subsystems: the alerting (the ability to reach and maintain a vigilance state), the orienting (the capacity of focusing attention on a subset of stimuli), and the conflict resolution or executive component (the ability to resolve conflict or allocate limited resources between competing stimuli). Here, we investigated, employing the Attentional Network Task (ANT), the specific impact of age on these three subcomponents, and the protective role of long-term meditation testing a group of older adults naïve to meditation, a group of age-matched adults with long-term practice of meditation, and a group of young adults with no previous meditation experience. We reported a specific decline of the efficiency of the executive component in elderly that was not observed in age-matched meditators. Our results are encouraging for the investigation of the potential beneficial impact of meditation on other cognitive processes that decline in aging such as memory. Moreover, they could inform geriatric healthcare prevention and intervention strategies, proposing a new approach for cognitive remediation in elderly populations. 相似文献

进化心理学观点认为两性冲突是一个性别达到最佳适应的过程被另一个性别所阻碍,其根本原因是两性繁衍成功的根本进化利益存在冲突。从进化心理学的角度,根据两性敌对性选择理论,两性冲突可以分为基因座内的两性冲突与基因座间的两性冲突,前者可由性选择理论解释,后者涉及到两性的适应与反适应以及在军备竞赛中的协同进化。而两性冲突缓和则可以由费舍尔模型与基因复制理论、性别二态性和一夫一妻制度解释。两性冲突及缓和也分别具有进化心理学的相关实证依据支持。未来两性冲突领域的研究需要提升研究方法的客观性及两性冲突特质的多样性,并关注两性冲突缓和的现实有效途径以及婚配制度与评估方式对繁衍成功的交互作用。 相似文献

Abstract Many professional educators are implementing school-based prevention focused on conflict resolution (CR) and peer mediation (PM). The authors conducted research on CR-PM in 3 middle schools. Specifically, they surveyed teachers and students, tracked disciplinary incidents across school years, collected mediation data, and compared mediators with a matched sample to determine attitudinal change as a result of PM training and experience. The authors also surveyed peer mediators and disputants about program satisfaction, as well as peer mediators and their parents about the generalization of PM skills. The authors conclude with implications for developing future CR programs, including a focus on mediation-process evaluation as well as schoolwide outcome measures and the use of peer mediation training as an intervention for students at risk. 相似文献

Conflict Resolution as a Dyadic Mediator: Considering the Partner Perspective on Conflict Resolution
So far, relationship research has only considered an intrapersonal perspective on links between adult attachment, conflict resolution and relationship satisfaction. This study investigated the mediating effects of partner‐reported conflict resolution styles among the attachment dimensions of avoidance and anxiety, and relationship satisfaction in a sample of 207 heterosexual couples. Dyadic and structural aspects of mediation were tested using the Actor–Partner Mediator Model with latent variables. Few significant partner‐related meditational pathways were found indicating compensating effects of positive problem solving and compliance. More frequent positive problem solving could improve relationship satisfaction, even when the partner showed higher scores on anxious attachment. In addition, the use of compliance could suppress the negative effects of attachment avoidance on partner's relationship satisfaction. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
