We present a technique called Random Image Structure Evolution (RISE) for use in experimental investigations of high-level visual perception. Potential applications of RISE include the quantitative measurement of perceptual hysteresis and priming, the study of the neural substrates of object perception, and the assessment and detection of subtle forms of agnosia. In simple terms, RISE involves the measurement of perceptual and/or neural responses as visual stimuli are systematically transformed—in particular, as recognizable objects evolve from, then dissolve into, randomness. Points along the sequences corresponding to the onset and offset of subjects’ percepts serve as markers for quantitatively and objectively characterizing several perceptual phenomena. Notably, these image sequences are created in a manner that strictly controls a number of important low-level image properties, such as luminance and frequency spectra, thus reducing confounds in the analysis of high-level visual processes. Here we describe the RISE paradigm, report the results of a few basic RISE experiments, and discuss a number of experimental and clinical applications of this approach.  相似文献

This paper summarizes our initial foray in tackling Artificial Intelligence problems using a connectionist approach. The particular task chosen was the visual recognition of objects in the Origami world as defined by. The two major questions answered were how to construct a connectionist network to represent and recognize projected line drawings of Origami objects and what advantages such an approach would have. The structure of the resulting connectionist network can be described as a hierarchy of parameter or feature spaces with each node in each of the feature spaces representing a hypothesis about the possible existence of a specific geometric feature of an Origami object. The dynamic behavior of the network is a form of iterative refinement or relaxation whose major characteristic is to prefer more globally interesting interpretations of the input over locally pleasing ones. Examples from the implementation illustrate the system's ability to deal with forms of noise, occlusion and missing information. Other benefits are an inherently parallel approach to vision, limitation of explicit ordering of the search involved in matching model to instance and the elimination of backtracking due to the sharing of partial results as the search progresses. The need for research on modifiable risk factors in anxiety has been highlighted in previous reviews synthesizing literature on the etiology and maintenance of anxiety. The Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) provides a useful framework to lead this body of work. A scoping review was conducted to examine the extent and nature of research evidence on each RDoC domain as they have been investigated in anxiety via relevant correlates, with the end goal of informing future research priorities. The coverage of this review was limited to search terms bound within non-disorder-specific anxious pathology. The adopted selection criteria resulted in 170 cases (across 94 studies) where RDoC-relevant correlates of anxiety were studied. Results highlight disparate research focus across domains (limited research on processes within the Positive Valence Systems, Systems for Social Processes, and Arousal/Regulatory Systems), inconsistent findings within domains (Cognitive Systems), and a lack of research on cross-domain interactions.  相似文献

Psychopathology research is the scientific foundation for legitimate and credible forms of clinical practice and the ethical delivery of mental health services. Experimental psychopathology is a subfield of psychopathology research; its aims are to elucidate variables and processes that contribute, either in whole or in part, to the etiology, exacerbation, or maintenance of abnormal behavior. To date, experimental psychopathology has been poorly understood with regard to its identity, aims, history, and relevance for clinical practice. In this article, we critically review and address the role of experimental psychopathology in the contemporary field of clinical science and practice. Overall, we suggest that experimental psychopathology can maintain its important contributions to the field, and perhaps more important, adapt to the current health care context to have an even larger impact on directing conceptual and empirical analyses of core psychopathology processes.  相似文献

The level of moral development and moral intensity in cognitive psychology will not only affect the ethical behavior of accountants, but also have a direct impact on the quality and level of accounting work. Therefore, in this paper, the ethical behavior of accountants was analyzed from the perspective of cognitive psychology. Computer-aided data mining techniques were introduced, and government accounting risk assessment management of financial accountants was studied. In this paper, the principle of cognitive psychology to measure the ethical level of accountants was first described. The predicament of moral judgments was analyzed and an optimization plan to improve the ethical intention of accountants was proposed. Support Vector Machine classification technology in data mining was studied to explore how to conduct effective and reliable evaluation, so as to provide a scientific basis for decision-making in improving accounting management. After the simulation experiment, it is proved that continuously improving the ethical standards of accountants and strengthening the forecast of accounting risks can continue to optimize the accounting office management.  相似文献

Metacognition is a process of self-cognition and self-thinking based on self-reflection, control, evaluation and regulation to achieve continuous cognition of individuals. Metacognition plays a very important role in coordination and guidance in college English education. Therefore, in this paper, the characteristics and rules of college English education were studied based on the cognitive process simulation. First of all, the basic theory of metacognition and the advantages and methods applied to English teaching were expounded. Then, a mathematical model was set up for college oral English teaching, and how to improve oral pronunciation for oral learners by quantitative and effective evaluation was discussed. After that, targeted information evaluation results were provided, and the algorithm was optimized and improved. Finally, by using computer aided technology and metacognitive method, the effect of oral English teaching was simulated and tested. The results show that the results of this study provide a useful exploration for improving the effectiveness of college English education and have good application value.  相似文献
