The relation between work-family balance and quality of life   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We examined the relation between work-family balance and quality of life among professionals employed in public accounting. Three components of work-family balance were assessed: time balance (equal time devoted to work and family), involvement balance (equal involvement in work and family), and satisfaction balance (equal satisfaction with work and family). For individuals who invested substantial time in their combined work and family roles, those who spent more time on family than work experienced a higher quality of life than balanced individuals who, in turn, experienced a higher quality of life than those who spent more time on work than family. We observed similar findings for involvement and satisfaction. We identified the contributions of the study to the work-family balance literature and discussed the implications of the findings for future research.  相似文献

The goal of this study is to show the relevance of organizational justice principles in interventions to prevent psychosocial risks. Following an introduction identifying organizational justice as a predictor of health and quality of work life, we illustrate its application to a diagnosis and an intervention for hospital staff. The responses of 685 employees to a questionnaire identified a lack of support and justice by managers; thus, sensitivity to organizational justice was incorporated into a training program on management and psychosocial risks. A quasi-experiment in which hospital staff participated revealed a beneficial effect of the manager training on justice perceptions of the staff, confirming in part our hypotheses. The illustration in our study of the benefits of using justice principles in manager training offers new perspectives for promoting quality of life at work and reducing psychosocial risks.  相似文献

More and more often quality of life at work (QWL) is considered as an alternative or a complementary approach to that of psychosocial risks. However, the vagueness surrounding the concept of QWL is not conducive to its use for prevention of burnout. This article presents a theoretical model for an operational definition of QWL as well as the resulting instrument: the Quality of Work life Systemic Inventory. The results obtained in a sample of community workers reveal that when the overall QWL score is below the 25th percentile (reference population of 3500 workers), the risk of emotional exhaustion is 4.06 times higher and the risk of emotional exhaustion is 4.06 times higher. disengagement 5.86 times higher.  相似文献

Background/Objective: Overweight and obese children are likely to encounter negative impact on psychological well-being and quality of life (QoL). Hence, for overweight and obese children, measuring QoL could go beyond simply assessing objective medical parameters and cover their physical health, psychological well-being, and social interaction. Generic (Kid-KINDL and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory [PedsQL]) and weight-related (Sizing Me Up) measures are two major types of QoL measurement instruments; however, little is known about the differences between them. Method: We recruited 569 3rd to 6th graders from eleven schools in Southern Taiwan. In addition to the three QoL questionnaires, the Child Depression Inventory and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale were applied. Results: Depression had significantly negative associations with all three QoL questionnaires. Self-esteem was only associated with Kid-KINDL. Body mass index had a significantly stronger relationship with Sizing Me Up than its relationships with PedsQL and Kid-KINDL. In other words, the items related to body size concerns in Size Me Up significantly contributed to impaired overweight/obese children’s QoL. Conclusions: The study further identified the characters and strength of these QoL measures for better suggestions on evaluating physical and psychological issues for overweight/obese children.  相似文献

Based in Duda’s (2013) hierarchical and multidimensional conceptualisation of the motivational climate, the purpose of this study was to examine whether a coach-created empowering motivational climate moderated the debilitating effects of a disempowering motivational climate on athletes’ health and optimal functioning. Athletes (N = 406, M age = 23.1 years; 67% male) completed questionnaires assessing their perceptions of coach-created empowering and disempowering climates created in training and competition, enjoyment in sport, burnout symptoms, global self-worth, and symptoms of physical ill-health. Following the recommendations of Hayes (2013) and Dawson (2014), and using PROCESS (Hayes), moderated regression analyses showed that the interaction between disempowering and empowering climate dimensions was significant and predicted 1% unique variance in 3 outcome variables (i.e., enjoyment, reduced accomplishment, and physical symptoms). The Johnson-Neyman technique was employed to plot and probe the significant interactions, which revealed moderately strong to strong values of an empowering climate tempered the significant relationship between a disempowering climate and the three outcome variables. The findings from this study have implications for coach education and suggest programmes that train coaches to understand how to create empowering climates and avoid (or dramatically reduce) disempowering climates are warranted.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Beginning in 1953 the American Psychological Association (APA) has advanced twelve iterations of a professional ethical code. In recent years the adequacy of the Ethics Code as well as APA’s ethics enforcement has come under increased scrutiny. In 2015 the APA empaneled an Ethics Commission which made a series of recommendations; however, the Commission itself as well as its recommendations are also controversial. Cognitive dysfunction is a common problem in patients with Alzheimer's disease. This not only affects the comprehensive rehabilitation of motor function and activities of daily living, but also directly affects the social adaptability, and brings difficulties to the reintegration of Alzheimer's patients. Therefore, cognitive rehabilitation of Alzheimer's patients has become one of the important topics facing the medical community. Under the concept of human-computer interaction design, this study uses puzzle games as an entry point to observe the impact of puzzle games on cognitive function guidance and improvement in patients with Alzheimer's disease. Expecting to provide daily rehabilitation for patients with Alzheimer's disease. It is also hoped that it can promote the cognitive ability recovery of Alzheimer's patients, effectively delay the progress of dementia, improve the daily living ability and adaptability of patients, and improve the quality of life and life.  相似文献

研究采用掩蔽启动范式,结合事件相关电位技术,考察阈下安全启动在非安全依恋女性对婴儿面孔注意加工上的改善效应。行为指标上,悲伤程度评分和反应时结果均表明了安全启动的改善作用。ERP结果上,在早期注意加工阶段,阈下安全启动比中性启动诱发了依恋焦虑和依恋回避女性对婴儿面孔表情更大的N1波幅以及更优的P2潜伏期,在晚期控制注意加工相关的P3波幅上同样发现了类似的改善效应。研究结果表明阈下安全启动能够提升非安全依恋女性对婴儿面孔的知觉敏感性,改善非安全依恋女性注意加工缺陷,且这种改善效应不仅仅作用于早期注意加工阶段而且还可以扩展到个体有意识的晚期控制加工阶段。  相似文献
