Studies of political behavior and attitudes in Japan have often looked to similarities and differences between the West, most notably the U.S., and Japan. This paper details two approaches concerned with examining Japanese social and political behavior within a cross-cultural context. The first—nihonjinron—works with cultural nationalism, which argues that Japanese values are unique and thus no social theory developed in the West can be applied to Japanese society. The second approach is characterized by field studies and tries to assess Japanese social behavior by comparing it to that of Americans and Europeans. There is a great deal of knowledge on political behavior in Western countries which scholars in Japan often refer to in order to evaluate the significance of their survey results. But there is still limited information on the Japanese situation, and any attempt to construct a general theory in either cultural or cross-cultural political psychology will have to refer also to human attitudes in this non-Western industrial society. 相似文献

Most research on career development is concerned with the fate of individuals, but portraits of the heterogeneity and development of whole populations or aggregates of individuals can also be useful for understanding the needs and development of different client populations. Two population-level concepts are proposed and defined: differentiation and distribution. This report then charts the rate at which occupational differentiation proceeds among 3730 young white men and investigates the personal and family attributes by which these men are distributed, or distribute themselves, to jobs. Data from the National Longitudinal (Parnes) Survey of the Labor Force Experience of Young Men are used to examine employment among men aged 16 to 28 in different levels and fields of work. Results suggest that the rate of labor force participation stabilizes in the early twenties, differentiation among men by education and the distribution of men among different broad levels and fields of work stabilize by the mid-twenties, and the sorting of men with different socioeconomic backgrounds into different occupational groups continues through the late twenties at which age it appears to have been largely completed. Discriminant analyses suggest that the distribution of men to jobs is primarily along an occupational status dimension, and secondarily according to field of work. Among the variables used in the analyses, academic achievement is the major dimension by which men are sorted or sort themselves to different jobs. 相似文献

Education is viewed as not merely a particular domain of social life. It is more a universal process than a mere learning of sciences and arts; it is richer than an individual's socialization. The educational democratization turns out to be a prerequisite of humanization of the entire social life. The orientation at the supreme humane values as a strategic direction of democratic evolution of education is opposed to the authoritarian tendencies as an antivalue of pedagogical relations.Being a significant step towards a genuinely humane society, democratization is unable, however, to resolve the fundamental problem of human formation: that of alienation. AbstractIn 1985, Carolyn Saarni and Michael Lewis published the landmark book, The Socialization of Emotions. In launching the focused study of emotion socialization, then guiding the field with her insights and observations for more than 3 decades, Saarni fostered the current vibrancy of the study of parents’ emotion socialization. In this paper, I begin by summarizing Saarni’s perspective on emotion socialization by parents. I then illustrate how her work has influenced, and continues to inform, many aspects of emotion socialization research by myself and others, as well as our understanding of the intricate and nuanced exchanges between children, parents and culture that serve to foster the emotional development of children. Emotion socialization is at once ubiquitous and subtly complex, and our deepening insights into its many forms and faces are themselves a tribute to Saarni’s ongoing legacy to the field. 相似文献

Background/Objective: Collaborative teamwork in global mental health presents unique challenges, including the formation and management of international teams composed of multicultural and multilingual professionals with different backgrounds in terms of their training, scientific expertise, and life experience. The purpose of the study was to analyze the performance of the World Health Organization (WHO) Field Studies Coordination Group (FSCG) using an input-processes-output (IPO) team science model to better understand the team's challenges, limitations, and successes in developing the eleventh revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). Method: We thematically analyzed a collection of written texts, including FSCG documents and open-ended qualitative questionnaires, according to the conceptualization of the input-processes-output model of team performance. Results: The FSCG leadership and its members experienced and overcame numerous barriers to become an effective international team and to successfully achieve the goals set forth by WHO. Conclusions: Research is necessary regarding global mental health collaboration to understand and facilitate international collaborations with the goal of contributing to a deeper understanding of mental health and to reduce the global burden of mental disorders around the world. 相似文献

The current study examined the moderating influence of observed parental emotion socialization (PES) on self-medication in
adolescents. Strengths of the study include the use of a newly developed observational coding system further extending the
study of PES to adolescence, the use of an experience sampling method to assess the daily covariation between negative affect
and substance use, and a focus on PES styles defined by the interaction of emotion-dismissing and emotion-coaching behaviors.
Using multi-leveling modeling, we tested PES as a moderator of daily negative mood-substance use relation in a sample of 65
elevated-risk adolescents (48% male, 58% Caucasian, with a median age of 14). Results showed a three-way interaction between
emotion-coaching PES, emotion-dismissing PES and daily negative mood in predicting daily substance use. Results are discussed
in terms of the importance of PES styles and their effects on self-medication through compromised emotion regulation and interpersonal
processes.

随机抽取天津市十三所幼儿园的445名幼儿教师为调查对象,通过对其社会化内容和策略的问卷调查,探讨了天津市幼儿教师社会化发展的基本状况,结果发现:(1)幼儿教师“起始阶段”的职业选择主要受其父母影响,且对其职业大多认同,但对其孩子的职业期望,未表现出特殊偏向;(2)幼儿教师在社会化过程中对工作技能的学习认同度最高,而对单位政治的了解程度最低;(3)在影响幼儿教师社会化的诸多因素中,其主动策略占主导地位,幼教机构的社会化策略也占有重要地位;(4)观察/模仿策略是幼儿教师使用得最多的主动策略,而伴随策略是幼教机构最经常使用的社会化策略。 相似文献

The aim of the present secondary data analysis was to explore antecedents and consequences of family socialization values emphasizing independence or interdependence, using a Taiwanese national probability sample. Analysis of variance revealed that those who were male, older and less educated emphasized greater interdependence values. In contrast, those who were younger, with higher social status and urban residents emphasized greater independence values. Multiple regression analysis further revealed that valuing interdependence was related to preferring a greater number of offspring, a higher endorsement of filial piety, greater marital and life satisfaction. Finally, in this national sample, endorsement on independence and interdependence values was equivalent. 相似文献
