论管子“以人为本”生命学说对和谐社会建构的文化观照

《管子》可谓是一部博大精深、包罗万千、韵味隽永的富含"经邦治国"之道的百科全书式的经典佳作。它承续、生发、展拓了华夏传统文化的"贵和"思想理念,推崇创设和谐社会的关键是树立"以人为本"的生命意识。然则中国共产党人所提出的努力实现"以人为本",建设和谐社会的战略决策,可谓与管子的文化思辨、道德教化和审美情韵皆有着某种异曲同工之妙境。     

和谐精神:人文奥运的基本精神

在"更快、更高、更强"的奥运主旋律中,内涵着厚重的人文精神。这种人文精神又可以归结为以心和、人和、天和为特征和指向的"和谐精神"。"人文奥运"是2008年北京奥运会三大理念中的核心和灵魂,而人文奥运的灵魂就是和谐精神。和谐、合力、和衷共济、和而不同的"和谐精神"是人文奥运的基本精神,和谐是奥林匹克与中华文明的最佳结合点。     

TIME, (COM)PASSION,AND ETHICAL SELF-FORMATION IN EVANGELICAL HUMANITARIANISM

This article examines narratives, images, and stories that give insight to everyday experimentation and ethical self-formation. I use the case of World Vision and its early leaders to unpack genealogies of American evangelical humanitarianism. Rather than seeking to identify American evangelicalism’s normative ethical stance, I aim to expand the discussion in anthropology of ethics on ethical self-formation through examining the tensions, reflections, and processes of becoming among evangelical humanitarians. In doing so, I examine two focal areas of ethical self-formation among early World Vision leaders. The first is oscillation between and mixing of passion and compassion frameworks in the American evangelical imagination. Second, I identify a range of temporal frames that evangelicals draw on to make sense of and formulate ethical responses to human needs encountered abroad.     

A PASSIONATE BUDDHIST LIFE

This paper addresses the ways that we can understand and transform our strong emotions and how this project contributes to moral and spiritual development. To this end, I choose to think with two Tibetan Buddhist thinkers, both of whom take up the question of how passionate emotions can fit into spiritual and moral life: the famous, playful yogin Shabkar Tsodruk Rangdrol (1781–1851) and the wandering, charismatic master Patrul Rinpoche (1808–1887). Shabkar's The Autobiography of Shabkar provides excellent examples of using one's own passionate emotions to connect to others and gain insight into the world. Patrul Rinpoche's The Words of My Perfect Teacher (kun bzang bla ma'i zhal lung) focuses on passionate empathy with the emotions of others. Drawing on these texts, I present a (distinctly Buddhist) conception of a passionate life and argue that passionate emotional experience is a central part of moral and spiritual development more broadly construed.     

Humility and Passion: A Caitanyite Vaishnava Ethics of Devotion

Two axiological elementshumility and passionI argue, are at the ethical core of Bengal Vaishnavism. These modes of behavior, derived from early theological sources, are dialectically related and form the basis for an ethics of devotion that allows the devotee to accept, while simultaneously transcending social norms and identities. I draw primarily from what is considered the most honored story of the Bhgavata Purna , the Rsall, involving the cowherd maidens who exhibit the highest devotion to God, and from the Caitanya Caritmrta , the biography of the sixteenth century revivalist and saint Caitanya, the tradition's model for devotional life.
