Violence Exposure and Sexual Risk Behaviors for African American Adolescent Girls: The Protective Role of Natural Mentorship and Organizational Religious Involvement

African American adolescent girls are at increased risk of being exposed to community violence and being diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection. Fewer studies, however, have examined the protective roles of natural mentorship and organizational religious involvement as potential moderators that could lessen the effects of violence exposure on health risk behavior. Data from 273 African American ninth grade girls were used to test hypothesized independent and moderated‐moderation models. Results suggest that natural mentorship and religious involvement were protective for girls who reported at least one mentor and moderate to high levels of religious involvement. Our findings may be relevant for community stakeholders and organizations that directly interact with religious institutions and community programs that focus on outreach to African American adolescent girls.     

JOURNEY OF THE UNIVERSE: WEAVING SCIENCE WITH THE HUMANITIES

This article discusses Journey of the Universe as a project that consists of a film, book, conversation series, online classes, and a website. It describes how the creators worked to integrate science and humanities, not privilege or elevate science. It refutes arguments made in Lisa Sideris's Consecrating Science: Wonder, Knowledge, and the Natural World that suggest that Journey overlooks religion and distorts wonder. The article observes that Journey does not dismiss religion but includes it in explicit ways. It does not dictate wonder; it evokes wonder. In short, Journey is a living or functional cosmology with implications for mutually enhancing human–Earth relations.     

Theology After the Scientific Revolution: The Significance of Nancey Murphy’s Contribution to Philosophy of Religion

This paper evaluates Nancey Murphy’s contribution to philosophy of religion paying special attention to epistemology and ethics. I argue that Murphy’s intellectual moves are motivated by a reflective and constructive engagement—around particular loci such as human knowledge, divine action, and the moral nature of the universe—with reductive materialism as a rival tradition of inquiry. At paper’s end, I suggest an amendment in Murphy’s contribution to ethics.     

高校教师教学水平评价的概化理论分析

以概化理论为基础,探究影响高校教师教学水平评价结果的因素。采用《高校教师教学水平评价量表（学生用）》收集评价数据,用mGENOVA对数据进行分析。结果发现：（1）与在第一学期末进行教学水平评价相比,在第二学期初进行教学水平评价的结果可靠性更高;（2）评价每位教师的教学水平仅需抽查20名学生即可保证评价结果的可靠性;（3）不同专业类型的学生对评价指标的侧重点不同,继而影响评价结果的可靠性;（4）学生对理科课程的评价可靠性较高,对文科课程的评价可靠性较低。

该研究旨在了解年级、元理解策略指数,理解监控策略,对阅读理解的成绩的影响。研究表明年级高,元理解策略指数高的学生多采用全局语境的监控策略,成绩较好;年级低,元理解策略指数低的学生多采用局部语境的监控策略,成绩较差。

基于多重任务的心理信息加工原理,提出一种可以更好地利用分离的双重任务操作绩效测量和计算操作者手脚协调能力的方法,并提出手-脚协调估计值K的计算方法。经手脚协调任务实验验证,手-脚协调估计值K可以较好地用于测量操作者的手脚协调能力。     

国外精神性研究述评

随着精神性对社会的意义越来越被人们所重视,心理学对精神性的讨论也越来越热烈。本文从精神性的研究历程将其分为宗教的精神性、人文的精神性以及科学的精神性,同时对目前国外科学精神性的相关研究和方法进行阐述,最后对精神性研究存在的问题加以总结述评并对今后研究提出展望。
