This paper introduces and describes new protocols for proving knowledge of secrets without giving them away: if the verifier
does not know the secret, he does not learn it. This can all be done while only using one-way hash functions. If also the
use of encryption is allowed, these goals can be reached in a more efficient way. We extend and use the GNY authentication

confirms a given theory, but not that it confirms the theory to a certain degree. The present paper extends Glymour’s theory

Eight experts in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) provided personal examples of their own successes and failures in
applying REBT to themselves. The experts actively talked to themselves both rationally and irrationally. Understandably, there
were far more shoulds, oughts, musts, and have to’s in the narratives in which the experts described when they failed to use
REBT than when they succeeded in using REBT. Rational self-talk was more prevalent in the examples of how REBT was successfully
used by the experts.

WordGen is an easy-to-use program that uses the CELEX and Lexique lexical databases for word selection and nonword generation
in Dutch, English, German, and French. Items can be generated in these four languages, specifying any combination of seven
linguistic constraints: number of letters, neighborhood size, frequency, summated position-nonspecific bigram frequency, minimum
position-nonspecific bigram frequency, position-specific frequency of the initial and final bigram, and orthographic relatedness.
The program also has a module to calculate the respective values of these variables for items that have already been constructed,
either with the program or taken from earlier studies. Stimulus queries can be entered through WordGen’s graphical user interface
or by means of batch files. WordGen is especially useful for (1) Dutch and German item generation, because no such stimulus-selection
tool exists for these languages, (2) the generation of nonwords for all four languages, because our program has some important
advantages over previous nonword generation approaches, and (3) psycholinguistic experiments on bilingualism, because the
possibility of using the same tool for different languages increases the cross-linguistic comparability of the generated item

Using a masked phonological priming paradigm, Brysbaert, Van Dyck, and Van de Poel (1999) showed that Dutch-French bilinguals perform better at identifying tachistoscopically presented L2 words (e.g., oui [yes]) when those words are primed by L1 words or nonwords that are homophonic to the L2 target word according to the L1 grapheme-phoneme conversion rules (e.g., wie [who]). They noted that this priming effect was smaller for balanced bilinguals than for less proficient bilinguals, although the interaction failed to reach significance. Findings of Gollan, Forster, and Frost (1997) suggest that this could be attributed to a greater reliance on phonology in L2 reading, caused by a smaller proficiency in this language. However, in this study we show that the Dutch-French cross-lingual phonological priming effect is equally large for perfectly balanced and less proficient bilinguals. There has recently been interest in the ways in which coordinated movements encourage coactors to feel socially closer to one another, but this has generally overlooked the importance of necessary precursors to this joint action. Here we target two low‐level behaviours involved in social coordination that may mediate a relationship between joint actions and social bonding, namely joint attention and shared goals. Participants engaged in a simple reaction time task while sitting next to a partner performing the same task. In a joint attention condition, both participants attended to stimuli presented on the same half of a computer screen, while in a control condition, they attended to opposite sides of the computer screen. Shared goals were manipulated by giving participants the instruction to keep below a threshold score for both individual response times and accuracy (individual goal), or their joint mean response time and accuracy (i.e., averaging their mean response time and accuracy with that of their partner: shared goal). Attending to the same side of the screen led to higher ratings on a composite social bonding index directed towards a partner, while shared goals did not cause any effects on partner ratings. Joint attention was sufficient to encourage social closeness with an interaction partner, which suggests that any activities which encourage attending to the same point in space could have some influence on how connected coactors feel about one another. 相似文献

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy practitioners from around the world reported their use of cognitive, emotive, behavioral, or other interventions, both in sessions and as homework when responding to clients who reported intellectual insight but were not moved by it. Social influence is an important determinant of adolescent risk-taking, but little is known about how social norms contribute to adolescents’ tendency to recommend and engage in risky behaviours. Using the Adolescent Risk-taking Questionnaire, we assessed subjects’ (n = 198, age = 10–26) propensity to engage in and recommend risk-taking as well as their perception of risk norms. Adolescents recommended risk-taking more often compared to children and young adults. Perceived social norms were the most important factor predicting engagement in risky behaviours, and adolescents perceived risk-taking to be more normative than children or adults. Our findings highlight two mechanisms that contribute to adolescent risk-taking, active recommendation and perceived social norms. On this basis, we discuss potential means to attenuate excessive adolescent risk-taking. 相似文献
