A seven-year follow-up study of agricultural entrepreneurs of high and low achievement motivation was conducted. The findings indicate that agriculture entrepreneurs with high n-Ach continue to increase their productivity more than their counterparts. The effects of dexedrine and phenobarbitone on visual figural aftereffect (VFAE) were examined in 32 postgraduate students selected after a preliminary testing with the Maudsley Personality Inventory. Calcium tablets were used as placebos. The subjects were repeatedly tested under each of the treatment conditions. The results supported the following conclusions: (1) extraverted subjects relative to introverted ones had larger VFAE; (2) the size of VFAE increased under the influence of phenobarbitone in all personality groups except N+E+ and N-E-; (3) interactions between the drug treatments and personality variables in effects on VFAE did not occur. 相似文献

This study examined the relationship between poverty and coping and defense behaviors and the way social support moderates this relationship. One hundred fifty Indian adults responded to scales of income, perceived economic status, coping, defense and social support. In addition, physical quality of living was rated on the basis of observation and a short interview. Results showed that income and physical quality of living were positively associated with perceived economic status. Income, physical quality of living, and perceived economic status were negatively related to coping and defense behaviors. Conditioning to one member of a compound stimulus can be blocked by the presence of a second member to which the response was previously conditioned. This account of selective stimulus control can be used to explain the finding that pictures inhibit learning of written words if the relevant pictures and their verbal equivalents have been paired previously. We tested the blocking explanation of the picture-word problem with 8 mentally retarded students. Following baseline, each student was presented daily with four conditions in an alternating treatments design. In Condition A (blocking), a picture was presented alone and then was followed by the presentation of a picture and written word compound stimulus; in Condition B (blocking/control), a word was presented alone; in Condition C (blocking minimized), a word was enhanced in size and presented alone followed by the word and a picture; and, in Condition D (blocking minimized/control), the enhanced word was presented alone. Each stimulus was presented for 15 s. All students had the lowest percentage of words read correctly in the blocking condition, and all improved when blocking was minimized. Six of 8 students reached their highest percentage of words read correctly in the two control conditions when the words were presented as a single stimulus without pictures. These results indicate that pictures inhibit some students' learning of new words; this may be due to the blocking of conditioning to written words by prior conditioning to pictures. 相似文献

This study examined relations between three career decision-making strategies (rational, intuitive, and dependent) and person-job fit among 361 professionals who had recently changed jobs. We found that the relation between each decision-making strategy and fit was contingent upon the concurrent use of other strategies. A rational strategy related more strongly to fit when individuals also engaged in extensive intuitive decision making than when they engaged in limited intuitive decision making. In addition, a dependent strategy related negatively to fit only in the absence of extensive rational or intuitive strategies. Moreover, self-awareness and awareness of the environment mediated relations between career decision-making strategies and person-job fit. The implications of these findings for future research on career decision making were discussed. 相似文献

Scholars have recently explored the effects of salespeople's intraorganizational relationships on salespeople's job-related outcomes. Grounded in social influence theory, we explore the effects of salespeople's intraorganizational skills on salesperson relationship performance. We empirically tested the proposed relationships using the data from a non-Western sales force working with an organization in an emerging economy. The results indicate that salespeople's political skill positively contributes to salespeople's identification with the organization and to creative performance, while strikingly, we also find that salesperson task adaptivity weakens these effects. Moreover, salespeople's identification and creative performance are positively related to customer satisfaction. These findings demonstrate that salespeople's intraorganizational relationships play a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction. In light of these results, we explore implications for marketers and academics and conclude by suggesting directions for further research. 相似文献
