A great deal of progress has been made on information ethics. Which portion is not sufficient? That might be the comparison from countries to countries. The purpose of this study was closely examined using the cross-cultural method for comparison. To determine the ethics cognitions and behaviors of the students, a comprehensive survey was distributed. The questionnaire for the study used Mason’s four essential factors in information ethics that included Privacy, Accuracy, Property and Accessibility (PAPA). The samples were comprised of Kaohsiung Taiwan and Nanjing China, junior high school students in 2006. The sample and the survey were obtained from two stages of random sampling that was conducted using an Internet website. Students could read the online questionnaire in the computer laboratory and then send immediate feedback to the website server. The result of the experiment showed the divergence of information ethics in cognition and behavior between Kaohsiung and Nanjing school children. The effects of background and correlation are from cognition and behavior between two regions.  相似文献

Our visual space does not appear to change when we scan or shift attention between locations. This appearance of stability implies that the depth information selection process is not crucial for constructing visual space. But we present evidence to the contrary. We focused on space perception in the intermediate distance, which depends on the integration of depth information on the ground. We propose a selection hypothesis that states that the integration process is influenced by where the depth information is selected. Specifically, the integration process inaccurately represents the ground when one samples depth information only from the far ground surface, instead of sequentially from the near to the far ground. To test this, observers matched the depth/length of a sagittal bar (test) to the width of a laterally oriented bar (reference) in three conditions in a full-cue environment that compelled the visual system to sample from different parts of the ground. These conditions had the lateral reference bar placed (1) adjacent to the test bar, (2) at the far ground, and (3) at the near ground. We found that the sagittal bar was perceived as shorter in conditions (1) and (2) than in Condition 3. This finding supports the selection hypothesis, since only Condition 3 led to more accurate ground surface integration/representation and less error in relative distance/depth perception. Also, we found that performances in all three conditions were similar in the dark, which has no depth information on the ground, indicating that the results cannot be attributed to asymmetric visual scanning but, rather, to differential information selection.  相似文献

Does intelligence alone explain our achievement at work or in life? Contrary to our belief that academic achievement matters very much in the success we have in working life, Chen et al. (1998) has shown that close to 90% of success in leadership positions is attributable to Emotional Intelligence (EI). Considering that EI can be a potential determinant of our achievement in working life, this study aims to determine if there is any significant difference in the EI of local and foreign undergraduates studying in universities in Singapore. The “Emotional IQ Test” was administered to 100 undergraduates from various fields of studies from the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, of which 31 had foreign education background. This study showed that foreign undergraduates have a higher EI score than those with local education background. In addition, by examining the relationships between variables such as age, gender, year of study and EI, it was found that males have higher EI scores than that of females. The implication for managers is that staff should be evaluated on their own merits such as their EI rather than on academic results.  相似文献

The functionalist perspective of status suggests that, to attain status, individuals need to be socially engaging and contribute to a group. In contrast, the signaling perspective of status indicates that people often perceive a lack of social engagement as a status cue and thus confer status on someone who is socially disengaging. Integrating these two important perspectives in the status literature, we propose a context dependent account of social (dis)engagement and status conferral in groups and organizations. Whereas social engagement (e.g., contributing to a group and connecting with its members) results in status attainment in task contexts, social disengagement (e.g., withholding benefits from a group and distancing oneself from its members) leads to status attainment in social contexts. A laboratory study and an online experiment provide partial empirical support for our predictions. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.  相似文献

Panic disorder commonly co-occurs in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and translational interventions are needed to address the fear of physiological arousal in this population. This paper examines the utility of interoceptive exposures (IE), a key component of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for panic disorder, in patients with comorbid panic and COPD. Our translational review of the literature suggests that IE is supported by both cognitive- and learning-theory perspectives of panic, and that the breathing exercises associated with IE are safe and highly compatible with existing pulmonary rehabilitation exercises for COPD. Unfortunately, few research studies have examined the use of CBT to treat anxiety in COPD patients, and none have included IE. Given the strong theoretical and empirical support for the use of IE, we suggest that mental health providers should consider incorporating IE into CBT interventions for patients with comorbid panic and COPD.  相似文献

The present investigation examined the effect of sexual objectification on women's intention to affiliate with men. We predicted that women would perceive an objectifier as less likable following sexual objectification and thus would distance themselves from the perpetrator. Study 1 found that objectification led female participants to perceive their male partner as less likable and to be less willing to affiliate with the partner. Study 2 replicated Study 1 in a concurrent interpersonal interaction and extended these effects to a man having a similar background with the perpetrator. Study 3 showed that power moderated the effect of sexual objectification on women's interaction intention such that only women with equal or low power (as compared to the objectifier) decreased their affiliation intention toward the objectifier, whereas high‐power women did not show this effect. 为研究图式治疗对大学生亲密恐惧的临床疗效,以54名有亲密恐惧问题的大学生为被试,采用支持咨询和图式治疗对比的实验研究,对疗效评估的各项指标进行了重复测量(前测、后测和追踪测量)的方差分析。结果表明干预后图式组亲密恐惧以及情感剥夺、缺陷/羞耻、伤害/疾病的易感性、情感抑制等四个适应不良图式都显著低于支持组,而且干预后图式组人际功能和适应功能等两项心理治疗效果评估指标都显著高于支持组。结论:图式治疗比支持支持咨询能更有效地减轻大学生亲密恐惧。  相似文献
