Sexting deception was explored in a sample of 272 U.S. adults (average age = 32.22 years) recruited through Amazon’s MTurk. Overall, 79% had sexted with romantic partners, and 43% had sexted with those they knew only online. Additionally, 50–63% had lied about what they were wearing, doing, or their sexual intentions, more frequently lying to those they knew only online. Many had also engaged in fantasy or role play with romantic partners (66%), and those known only online (36%); however, most did not state to their partner that they were engaged in fantasy. Meanwhile, 60% of participants expected that they would do the specific sexual activities mentioned in chats with romantic partners or engage in sexual activity the next time they saw that romantic partner, but fewer expected that they would do the sexual activities mentioned with those known only online (20%) or engage in sexual activity in their first meeting with an online sex chat partner (15%). Those who expected sexual activity after sexting with online partners were more likely to be men, single, extraverted, and less conscientious; whereas those who expected sexual activity after sexting with offline romantic partners were more likely to be younger adults, in committed relationships, with higher levels of conscientiousness.  相似文献

Stress experienced by young workers can be very different from stress experienced by adults because of differing psychosocial developments. It is important to understand how early workplace experiences shape young workers' subsequent attitudes and behaviors, which may affect their psychological well‐being. This study examined how 18 young workers ages 17–29 perceive work stress. The authors found that young workers view job stress in 3 dimensions: lack of opportunity to learn, poor social interaction, and lack of opportunity to exercise initiative. Young workers also view work demands as challenging tasks and become job crafters to find more satisfaction in routine tasks.  相似文献

Research (e.g. French, Power, & Mitchell, 2000 ; Harris, 2006 ; Harris & Alderson, 2006 , 2007 ; Roy & Cain, 2001 ) has highlighted important benefits for people living with HIV/AIDS to become connected with HIV community‐based (CB) agencies (e.g. reduction of isolation, educational opportunities, empowerment). However, CB HIV organizations sometimes experience challenges in recruiting and retaining people living with HIV/AIDS. In a sample of 68 respondents associated with a Canadian HIV/AIDS CB agency, facets of agency identification were examined as correlates of (a) turnover intentions with the agency and (b) aspects of psychological adjustment (hope and general self‐efficacy). Results indicated one dimension of social identification, in‐group affect, as a significant correlate of turnover intentions (such that members with more positive agency‐derived feelings were more likely to say they would stay at the agency), and another emotionally‐relevant aspect of identification, in‐group ties, as a significant correlate of general self‐efficacy. The present study examined the process of shared leadership in 45 ad hoc decision-making teams. Each team member's leadership behavior (n = 180) was assessed by behaviorally coding videotapes of the teams' discussions. The within-team patterns of leadership behavior were examined using cluster analysis. Results indicated that the likelihood of a team experiencing a full range of leadership behavior increased to the extent that multiple team members shared leadership, and that teams with shared leadership experienced less conflict, greater consensus, and higher intragroup trust and cohesion than teams without shared leadership. This study supports previous findings that shared leadership contributes to overall team functioning, and begins to delineate the extent to which team members may naturally share leadership.  相似文献

The claim that common sense regards free will and moral responsibility as compatible with determinism has played a central role in both analytic and experimental philosophy. In this paper, we show that evidence in favor of this “natural compatibilism” is undermined by the role that indeterministic metaphysical views play in how people construe deterministic scenarios. To demonstrate this, we re-examine two classic studies that have been used to support natural compatibilism. We find that although people give apparently compatibilist responses, this is largely explained by the fact that people import an indeterministic metaphysics into deterministic scenarios when making judgments about freedom and responsibility. We conclude that judgments based on these scenarios are not reliable evidence for natural compatibilism.  相似文献
