Rasch analysis is a popular statistical tool for developing and validating instruments that aim to measure human performance, attitudes and perceptions. Despite the availability of various software packages, constructing a good instrument based on Rasch analysis is still considered to be a complex, labour-intensive task, requiring human expertise and rather subjective judgements along the way. In this paper we propose a semi-automated method for Rasch analysis based on first principles that reduces the need for human input. To this end, we introduce a novel criterion, called in-plus-out-of-questionnaire log likelihood (IPOQ-LL). On artificial data sets, we confirm that optimization of IPOQ-LL leads to the desired behaviour in the case of multi-dimensional and inhomogeneous surveys. On three publicly available real-world data sets, our method leads to instruments that are, for all practical purposes, indistinguishable from those obtained by Rasch analysis experts through a manual procedure.  相似文献

In three studies, we examined memories for previous recall. In Studies 1 and 2, undergraduates were asked whether they had vivid memories about various childhood events. After a one‐hour (Study 1) or 2‐week (Study 2) interval, they completed a second questionnaire containing new, but also previously presented childhood items. Participants estimated how recently they had thought about old and new items. A non‐trivial proportion of recent recalls of vivid childhood memories was dated incorrectly. In Study 3, women with recovered and continuous memories of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) completed the childhood events questionnaires used in studies 1 and 2. After a one‐hour interval, they indicated how recently they had thought about new, but also previously presented childhood items. According to the Group Value Model, group authorities and procedures communicate symbolic information to people about whether the group values or respects them. Employees for a concrete construction company completed a questionnaire about their work experiences in either English or Spanish. Among employees who identified more strongly with the concrete construction company, the quality of supervisor treatment predicted employees' feelings of respect and personal self-efficacy. Further, for employees who identified with the company, feeling respected by their colleagues mediated the relationship between fair treatment by a single supervisor and self-efficacy. Even when the working context encourages short term and instrumental goals, these results suggest that employees who identify with the company still care about fair treatment because of the self-relevant information it communicates to them.  相似文献
