Customer satisfaction with the occupational suggestions provided by computer-aided guidance systems is uniformly high. User satisfaction and reactions to an artificial system, and two conventional and profile-matching system, were compared. The results suggested that user satisfaction is influenced by several factors which are largely unrelated to the quality or novelty of the occupational suggestions received. The psychological works of Charles Bonnet of Geneva (1720–1793) have customarily been read as part of the mentalistic traditions of associationism or Leibnizianism. Substantial evidence exists that negotiators frequently fail to attain readily available and mutually beneficial outcomes. This paper provides a preliminary model of why these failures occur. We assume that negotiators are decision makers, and that their errors derive from cognitive processes ignored by utility-maximization theories. We focus on one part of the model: the systematic tendency to ignore the cognitions of opponent negotiators. Empirical evidence clarifying negotiators' cognitive processes is generated using verbal protocol techniques in a controlled negotiation task. The results show that subjects simplify the negotiation task, in part by ignoring contingencies introduced by the knowledge possessed by their opponents. The discussion focuses on how subjects simplify the task and how the decision-making perspective helps redirect the negotiation literature. 相似文献

Choice typically is studied by exposing organisms to concurrent variable-interval schedules in which not only responses controlled by stimuli on the key are acquired but also switching responses and likely other operants as well. In the present research, discriminated key-pecking responses in pigeons were first acquired using a multiple schedule that minimized the reinforcement of switching operants. Then, choice was assessed during concurrent-probe periods in which pairs of discriminative stimuli were presented concurrently. Upon initial exposure to concurrently presented stimuli, choice approximated exclusive preference for the alternative associated with the higher reinforcement frequency. Concurrent schedules were then implemented that gave increasingly greater opportunities for switching operants to be conditioned. As these operants were acquired, the relation of relative response frequency to relative reinforcement frequency converged toward a matching relation. An account of matching with concurrent schedules is proposed in which responding exclusively to the discriminative stimulus associated with the higher reinforcement frequency declines as the concurrent stimuli become more similar and other operants-notably switching-are acquired and generalize to stimuli from both alternatives. Low-frequency irregular words are named more slowly and are more error prone than low-frequency regular words (the regularity
effect). Rastle and Coltheart (1999) reported that this irregularity cost is modulated by the serial position of the irregular
grapheme-phoneme correspondence, such that words with early irregularities exhibit a larger cost than words with late ones.
They argued that these data implicate rule-based serial processing, and they also reported a successful simulation with a
model that has a rule-based serial component—the DRC model of reading aloud (Coltheart, Rastle, Perry, Langdon, & Ziegler,
2001). However, Zorzi (2000) also simulated these data with a model that operates solely in parallel. Furthermore, Kwantes
and Mewhort (1999) simulated these data with a serial processing model that has no rules for converting orthography to phonology.
The human data reported by Rastle and Coltheart therefore neither require a serial processing account, nor successfully discriminate
among a number of computational models of reading aloud. New data are presented wherein an interaction between the effects
of regularity and serial position of irregularity is again reported for human readers. The DRC model simulated this interaction;
no other implemented computational model does so. The present results are thus consistent with rule-based serial processing
