Synthesis of phase-pure cubic and monoclinic Y2O3 nanoparticles (16–90?nm) was achieved in a gas-phase flame process. The effect of process parameters on the crystal structure of the Y2O3 nanoparticles was systematically investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Fuel gases, H2 or C2H4, at various flow rates, two yttrium precursors, an oxidant stream with varying degrees of N2 or Ar dilution and different burner diameters were used to examine the effects of chemical atmosphere, flame temperature, residence time and precursor concentration on the crystal structure of the synthesized Y2O3 nanoparticles. Regardless of the other process parameters, at diluent/O2 ratios of 0.25 or lower, monoclinic Y2O3 nanoparticles were obtained, whereas at diluent/O2 ratios of 1 or higher, cubic Y2O3 nanoparticles were obtained. A lower diluent/O2 ratio was related to higher flame temperature. Thermodynamic analyses suggest that high temperatures likely favour the formation of monoclinic Y2O3 nanoparticles in this flame process. 相似文献

In immediate recall tasks, visual recency is substantially enhanced when output interference is low (Cowan, Saults, Elliott, & Moreno, 2002; Craik, 1969) whereas auditory recency remains high even under conditions of high output interference. This auditory advantage has been interpreted in terms of auditory resistance to output interference (e.g., Neath & Surprenant, 2003). In this study the auditory-visual difference at low output interference re-emerged when ceiling effects were accounted for, but only with spoken output. With written responding the auditory advantage remained significantly larger with high than with low output interference. These new data suggest that both superior auditory encoding and modality-specific output interference contribute to the classic auditory-visual modality effect. 相似文献

Olum discovered that seven-year-old children give unusual responses to observed movement, presented on a Michotte apparatus, in contrast to that of adults. We made the following changes in Olum's procedures: (a) stimuli were presented without repetition, (b) neutral instructions were used, (c) different and more complicated stimuli were used, (d) 20 seven-year-old and 20 ten-year-old children were used. The unusual responses remained. They cannot be explained as an effect of repetition, particular stimuli, or procedure. The younger children's responses were less accurate and more variable. The properties of memory as a feedforward control mechanism of perception and motion have been investigated by requiring Ss to project in active space-time an observed stimulus wave pattern. Memory error was measured under conditions in which the visual feedback of the memory response was delayed and interrupted (sampled) at five time magnitudes (0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 sec). In addition, memory performance was measured under conditions of temporal pacing by an auditory clock and no such pacing. Results confirmed the hypotheses that memory error in projecting an observed stimulus target on a space-time basis would be improved by time pacing and systematically degraded by variable magnitudes of feedback delay and interruption of the projected movement patterns. The results indicate that memory, as well as learning, may be organized on a spacetime basis and that the critical time factors are related to feedback-and feedforward-control timing in temporally spanning past response and experience through learning and in projecting such space-time control of acquisition in-memory. 相似文献

The presence of an interference effect in naming the print color of color words (J. R. Stroop, 1935) suggests that responses associated with the irrelevant-word dimension of the display are activated involuntarily. In the present study, the author examined the conditions under which coloring a single letter in a word reduced interference in vocal responding (D. Kahneman & A. Henik, 1981) or eliminated it in manual responding (D. Besner, J. A. Stolz, & C. Boutilier, 1997). In Experiment 1, color-word interference was significant under vocal responding for the Besner et al. displays. In Experiment 2, the author replicated the Kahneman and Henik effect with the Besner et al. stimuli. The results of Experiment 3 showed that semantic effects are not eliminated by coloring only a single letter. Abstract For half a century Interpersonal psychoanalysis has developed relatively independent of the tradition of Freud and his followers. The Interpersonal movement was founded by Harry Stack Sullivan, Clara Thompson and others who believed that the psyche could not be understood as an entity that evolves without input from the external environment. The Interpersonal view is that interactions between people influence every aspect of the individual's experience, and that no person can be studied without simultaneously noting the ongoing impact between the observer and the observed. This line of thought has led to conclusions concerning personality, psychopathology and clinical technique that depart from traditional psychoanalysis. The paper illustrates a number of these differences, emphasizing that the current emergence of the “two-person model” of the psychoanalytic situation offers a potential rapprochement between the Interpersonal and more classical views. 相似文献

Abstract Because of individual differences in Occurrence of ovulation and patterns of hormonal secretions, one would usually prefer to measure locus in the menstrual cycle using physiological assessment procedures. But such methods are time consuming and costly. When exploring a new domain for possible relations to the menstrual cycle, it would be cost effective to use the simpler procedure of having each women verbally estimate date of onset of next menses. The accuracy of such estimates was studied in two college age samples. Estimated number of days until next onset correlated highly with actual number of days, as verified by follow-up (r = 0.90). As a group, women neither under- nor overestimated number of days. The precision with which these judgments were made was reasonably high. In sum, when a group of women are followed for one cycle, the average accuracy is very high, certainly high enough to support use of such verbal reports for certain scientific purposes. 相似文献

Alcohol is a contributing factor in many crimes, yet little is known of its effects on eyewitness memory and face identification. Some authors suggest that intoxication impairs attention and memory, particularly for peripheral scene information, but the data supporting this claim are limited. The present study therefore sought to determine whether (i) intoxicated participants spend less time fixating on peripheral regions of crime images than sober counterparts, (ii) whether less information is recognised from image regions receiving fewer gaze fixations and (iii) whether intoxicated participants are less able to identify the perpetrator of a crime than sober participants. Contrary to expectations, participants' ability to explore and subsequently recognise the contents of the stimulus scenes was unaffected by alcohol, suggesting that the relationship between intoxication, attention and eyewitness memory requires closer scrutiny.
