Rats were trained and tested in habituation to a novel environment and step-down inhibitory avoidance. Immediately after training in each task the animals received intra-amygdala, intraseptal, or intrahippocampal micro-injections of agonists and antagonists of various neurotransmitter receptors. In the habitation task, intrahippocampal, but not intra-amygdala or intraseptal administration of the NMDA receptor antagonist aminophosphornopentanoic acid (AP5, 5.0 micrograms) or of the muscarinic receptor antagonist, scopolamine (2.0 micrograms) caused amnesia and the indirect antagonist of GABA-A receptors, picrotoxin (0.08 microgram), caused retrograde facilitation. Intrahippocampal administration of the respective agonists, glutamate, oxotremorine, and muscimol, had effects of their own opposite to those of the blockers, and norepinephrine (0.3 microgram) caused memory facilitation. In the avoidance task, results obtained with drug infusions given into the three structures were very similar: in all cases, AP5, scopolamine, and muscimol were amnestic, and glutamate, oxotremorine, norepinephrine, and picrotoxin caused memory facilitation. In addition, also in the three structures, picrotoxin counteracted the amnestic effect of AP5 and/or scopolamine and the beta-adrenoceptor blocker, timolol (0.3 microgram), while ineffective on its own, attenuated all the effects of picrotoxin. The results suggest that similar synaptic mechanisms in the amygdala, medial septum, and hippocampus are involved in memory consolidation: NMDA, muscarinic, and beta-noradrenergic receptors stimulate and GABA-A receptors inhibit this process, and beta-noradrenergic receptors modulate the GABAergic synapses. In the avoidance task these mechanisms operate in the three structures: in habituation only those in the hippocampus are operative. Possibly in each structure these mechanisms regulate, if not actually consolidate, a different aspect, component, or form of memory.  相似文献

Adult male Wistar rats were bilaterally implanted with indwelling cannulae in four different coordinates of the cingulate cortex: (1) the anterior cingulate (AC), (2) the rostral region of the posterior cingulate (RC), (3) the upper portion of the caudal region of the posterior cingulate (UC), and (4) the lower portion of the caudal region of the posterior cingulate (LC). After recovery, animals were trained in a step-down inhibitory avoidance task (3.0-s, 0.4-mA foot shock). Either immediately, or 90 or 180 min after training, animals received a 0.5-microl infusion of vehicle (phosphate buffer, pH 7.4), of muscimol (0.5 microg), or of AP5 (5.0 microg). Retention testing was carried out 24 h after training. Muscimol was amnestic when given into any of the three coordinates of the posterior cingulate cortex 90 min after training, and when given into LC immediately post-training. In addition, AP5 was amnestic when given into UC 90 min post-training, but not when given into any other region and/or at any other time. None of the treatments had any effect when given into AC. The results suggest that memory processing of the inhibitory avoidance task is regulated by the posterior but not by the anterior cingulate cortex, through muscimol-sensitive synapses, relatively late after training. AP5-sensitive synapses appear to play a very limited role in these processes, restricted to UC.  相似文献

We investigate the semantics of the logical systems obtained by introducing the modalities and into the family of substructural implication logics (including relevant, linear and intuitionistic implication). Then, in the spirit of the LDS (Labelled Deductive Systems) methodology, we "import" this semantics into the classical proof system KE. This leads to the formulation of a uniform labelled refutation system for the new logics which is a natural extension of a system for substructural implication developed by the first two authors in a previous paper.  相似文献

This study sets out to cast light on the most significant theoretical and methodological aspects of the Italian School of History of Religions, a school that owes its particular character to the cultural commitment of Raffaele Pettazzoni, Ernesto de Martino and Angelo Brelich. Since these scholars are not well known internationally, this article aims at providing some keys to their interpretation for the purpose of a wider circulation. The thought of Pettazzoni, de Martino and Brelich has not exhausted its potential and can make a far from negligible contribution to today's discussions on subjects such as the role of the history of religions in contemporary culture, the meaning of the secular approach to the religious phenomenon, and the search for new conceptions of the comparative method. The most pregnant image of the history of religions provided by an analysis of the works of these Italian scholars is that of a discipline committed to tackling the problems of our time.  相似文献

Social relations in the workplace are one of the main sources of risk for the onset of mobbing. In this work, we analyzed, through the perceived social climate, the influence of interpersonal relations on the characterization of the processes of mobbing, in a sample of local police (N = 235). In particular, the policemen and women's opinions of the quality of the personal relations among the group members and the treatment they receive from the command posts were assessed. The results of the study show that the development of guidelines of social interaction based on discrimination and abuse of authority are predicting variables of mobbing in this group.  相似文献

In this paper, an evaluation of Cloninger's typology of alcohol abuse in personality, psychopathology and personality disorders is carried out. The sample consisted of 158 alcoholics in treatment (56 Type I alcohol-dependent patients and 102 Type II alcohol-dependent patients). All subjects were assessed with diverse assessment tools related to personality (Impulsiveness Scale, Sensation Seeking Scale and STAI), psychopathology (SCL-90-R, BDI and Inadaptation Scale) and personality disorders (IPDE). The main findings were that Type II alcohol-dependent patients were more impulsive and sensation-seeking and they displayed more hostility and emotional distress than Type I alcohol-dependent patients. Personality disorders were not so prevalent in the case of Type I alcohol-dependent patients. The most specific personality disorders for Type II alcohol-dependent patients were narcissistic and paranoid. The implications of this study for further research are commented on.  相似文献

Self-reported or explicit self-esteem frequently conflicts with indirectly assessed, implicit self-esteem. The present research investigated whether meditation may reduce such inner conflicts by promoting congruence between implicit and explicit self-esteem. Relative to control conditions, meditation led to greater congruence between explicit self-esteem, assessed via self-report, and implicit self-esteem, indicated by name-letter preference (Studies 1 and 2). Low implicit self-esteem was further associated with a slow-down of explicit self-evaluation (Study 2), an effect that mediated the greater congruence between implicit and explicit self-esteem in the meditation condition. These results suggest that meditation encourages people to rely more on intuitive feelings of self-worth.  相似文献

Interference with activity of numerous cerebral structures produces memory deficiencies; in many instances, however, when animals are over-trained such interference becomes innocuous. Systemic administration of protein synthesis inhibitors impairs long-term retention; this effect has been interpreted to mean that protein synthesis is required for memory consolidation, though little is known about the effect of protein synthesis inhibitors on memory of enhanced learning in the rat. To further analyze the protective effect of enhanced learning against amnesic treatments, groups of Wistar rats were trained in a one-trial step-through inhibitory avoidance task, using different intensities of foot-shock during training. Cycloheximide (CXM; 2.8 mg/kg), an inhibitor of protein synthesis, was injected either 30 min before training or immediately after training. Twenty-four hours after training retention latencies were recorded. Our data showed that both pre- and post-training administration of CXM produced amnesia in those groups that had been trained with relatively low foot-shock intensities, but no impairment in retention was observed when relatively high intensities of foot-shock were administered. These and similar results lead us to conclude that protein synthesis inhibitors may interfere with memory consolidation, but their effect disappears when animals are submitted to an enhanced learning experience, calling into question the idea that protein synthesis is required for memory consolidation.  相似文献
