Theoretical assumptions regarding the genetic and environmental structure of personality proposed in Cloninger's seven-factor model of temperament and character were verified in a Japanese sample by using the twin method. The Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) was administered to 296 twin pairs ranging in age from 14 to 28 years old. Among four temperament dimensions (novelty seeking [NS], harm avoidance [HA], reward dependence [RD], and persistence [PS]), HA and PS showed significant additive genetic contributions and no shared environmental effect, supporting the original theoretical assumption. NS and RD could be explained by either genetic or shared environmental factors with nonshared environment. All three character dimensions (cooperativeness [CO], self-directedness [SD], and self-transcendence [ST]) could be explained exclusively by additive contributions and no shared environmental effect. Multivariate genetic analysis indicated that there were no significant associations between NS, HA, and RD, as the theory predicts, and the genetic components of PS, SD, and CO were derived from those of the temperament dimensions. The fourth genetic component, which had a substantial load specifically on ST and overlapped with PS, was identified. Although most of the nonshared environmental effects were trait-specific, the phenotypic correlation between NS and HA could be explained by nonshared environmental overlap. 相似文献

Associative learning dependent on visual and vestibular sensory neurons and the underlying cellular mechanisms have been well characterized in Hermissenda but not yet in Lymnaea. Three days of conditioning with paired presentations of a light flash (conditional stimulus: CS) and orbital rotation (unconditional stimulus: UCS) in intact Lymnaea stagnalis results in a whole-body withdrawal response (WBWR) to the CS. In the current study, we examined the optimal stimulus conditions for associative learning, including developmental stage, number of stimuli, interstimulus interval, and intertrial interval. Animals with a shell length longer than 18 mm (sexually mature) acquired and retained the associative memory, while younger ones having a shell length shorter than 15 mm acquired but did not retain the memory to the following day. For mature animals, 10 paired presentations of the CS and UCS presented every 2 min were sufficient for the induction of a WBWR to the CS. Furthermore, animals conditioned with the UCS presented simultaneously with the last 2 s of the CS also exhibited a significant WBWR in response to the CS. Blind animals did not acquire the associative memory, suggesting that ocular photoreceptors, and not dermal photoreceptors, detected the CS. Numerous studies have reported an effect of prosodic information on parsing but whether prosody can impact even the initial parsing decision is still not evident. In a visual world eye-tracking experiment, we investigated the influence of contrastive intonation and visual context on processing temporarily ambiguous relative clause sentences in Japanese. Our results showed that listeners used the prosodic cue to make a structural prediction before hearing disambiguating information. Importantly, the effect was limited to cases where the visual scene provided an appropriate context for the prosodic cue, thus eliminating the explanation that listeners have simply associated marked prosodic information with a less frequent structure. Furthermore, the influence of the prosodic information was also evident following disambiguating information, in a way that reflected the initial analysis. The current study demonstrates that prosody, when provided with an appropriate context, influences the initial syntactic analysis and also the subsequent cost at disambiguating information. The results also provide first evidence for pre-head structural prediction driven by prosodic and contextual information with a head-final construction. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to explore the conditions that make residences function as restorative environments for parents with young children. We analyzed how perceived restorativeness factors (being away, fascination, coherence, scope, and compatibility), the evaluation of the residence, interpersonal support, and the number of children contribute to actual psychological restoration in the residence using stepwise multiple regression. The results showed that perceived restorativeness factors needed for actual psychological restoration in residences depend on the working status and parental role. For nonworking mothers, fascination and interpersonal support significantly contributed to the prediction of their actual psychological restoration in the residence. For working mothers, only being away contributed significantly to predicting actual psychological restoration in the residence. For fathers, only compatibility contributed significantly to predicting actual psychological restoration in the residence. A need for future studies to examine whether the differences were caused by the fact that one is engaged in paid work or by the fact that potential stressors are distributed both inside and outside the residence was discussed. 相似文献

Abstract The type and frequency of grain boundaries, the so-called grain boundary character distribution (GBCD), has been determined in rapidly solidified and subsequently annealed Fe-6·5 mass% Si alloy ribbon by the scanning electron microscopy-electron channelling pattern (SEM-ECP) technique. High frequencies of low-angle boundaries and coincidence boundaries with Σ3, Σ9, Σ11, Σ17 and Σ19 were observed in a fully annealed ribbon with well defined {110} texture. The total frequency of low-angle boundaries and coincidence boundaries is almost one-half of all grain boundaries. The coincidence boundaries which occurred more frequently are exactly those predicted theoretically from the coincidence orientations for 〈110〉 rotation in cubic crystals, similar to those observed previously in {100} textured ribbons of the same alloy produced by the same processing method. The presence of a close relationship between the type of texture and GBCD has been confirmed by experiment on differently textured ribbons of the same material. 相似文献

The formation of an amorphous phase underneath a Vickers indentation produced on a Si(001) surface at room temperature has been observed by cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy. Two types of location are observed for the amorphous phase. One is formed just underneath the image of the indentation and the other is parallel to the slip planes of Si. It is concluded that the latter type, at least, is formed as a result of activation of dislocations which is induced by an external shear stress combined with a hydrostatic pressure. 相似文献

This study examined the application of the trans-theoretical model (TTM) for readiness for decision-making of outpatient chemotherapy of Japanese advanced lung cancer patients by a cross sectional questionnaire survey. A questionnaire was conducted with 105 Japanese patients diagnosed with advanced lung cancer receiving chemotherapy. We classified them according to the TTM stages, including 4 in precontemplation, 42 in contemplation, 22 in preparation, and 35 in action. The valid model (χ 2 (37) = 42.56, p = 0.24; GFI = 0.93; AGFI = 0.88; CFI = 0.98; RMSEA = 0.04; AIC = 100.56) derived from structural equation modeling (SEM) revealed that stage of outpatient chemotherapy was significantly affected mostly by decisional-balance (β = 0.60, p < 0.001) and partially by time from the patient's house to the hospital (β = ?0.15, p < 0.10), and that decisional-balance was significantly affected by self-efficacy (β = 0.48, p < 0.001) and nausea (β = ?0.23, p < 0.01). The findings from our study provided encouraging results for adopting the TTM in decision making for outpatient chemotherapy in Japanese cancer care and several clinical implications were obtained from the results. 相似文献

High-resolution in situ heating experiments in a transmission electron microscope have been applied to a study of the surface modification of Si by molten Al in a vacuum of 1 10-5 Pa. Transformation from an atomically rough to an atomically flat surface was induced by wetting of molten Al atoms. Si {110}, {112}, {115} and {773} surfaces show sawtooth-like structures composed of nanofacets. It is concluded that molten Al atoms remove a native amorphous oxide layer which existed on the original Si surface, making the surface 'clean' even in a non-ultra-high vacuum such as 10-5Pa. 相似文献

Two visual-world eye-movement experiments investigated the nature of syntactic priming during comprehension--specifically, whether the priming effects in ditransitive prepositional object (PO) and double object (DO) structures (e.g., "The wizard will send the poison to the prince/the prince the poison?") are due to anticipation of structural properties following the verb (send) in the target sentence or to anticipation of animacy properties of the first postverbal noun. Shortly following the target verb onset, listeners looked at the recipient more (relative to the theme) following DO than PO primes, indicating that the structure of the prime affected listeners' eye gazes on the target scene. Crucially, this priming effect was the same irrespective of whether the postverbal nouns in the prime sentences did ("The monarch will send the painting to the president") or did not ("The monarch will send the envoy to the president") differ in animacy, suggesting that PO/DO priming in comprehension occurs because structural properties, rather than animacy features, are being primed when people process the ditransitive target verb. 相似文献
