The statement intends to make research integrity challenges recognisable from the work-floor perspective, providing concrete advice on organisational measures to strengthen integrity. The present research examined whether cognitive load modulates the neural processing of appetitive, high-calorie food stimuli. In a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study, participants quickly categorized high-calorie and low-calorie food pictures versus object pictures as edible or inedible while they concurrently performed a digit-span task that varied between low and high cognitive load (memorizing six digits vs. one digit). In line with predictions, the digit-span task engaged the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) when cognitive load was high compared to low. Moreover, exposure to high-calorie compared to low-calorie food pictures led to increased activation in the nucleus accumbens (NAcc), but only when cognitive load was low and not when it was high. In addition, connectivity analyses showed that load altered the functional coupling between NAcc and right DLPFC during presentation of the high-calorie versus low-calorie food pictures. Together, these findings indicate that loading the cognitive system moderates hedonic brain responses to high-calorie food pictures via interactions between NAcc and DLPFC. Our findings are consistent with the putative cognitive nature of food motivation. Implications for future research are discussed. 相似文献

In this ethnographic study conducted in two classrooms in Norway, grade nine (14-year-olds) in lower secondary school and
the first year (16-year-olds) of upper secondary school, attention is drawn to how classroom culture is constituted through
relationships between students. Through processes of power, dominance, hegemony and marginalisation, classroom culture forms
the conditions for a learning environment, and has different opportunities, dilemmas and costs for the students. As classroom
culture is negotiated in contextual and relational processes, classroom culture and ways of performing masculinities and femininities
vary in the different classrooms, even within the same school. This article explores two classroom cultures, a “rule-breaking”
classroom culture and a classroom culture in which the fear of being labelled a “nerd” dominates, to show how boys and girls
use different solutions to balance the development of their identity as youths (the youth project) and the acquisition of

The association between overall life satisfaction (LS) and relationship satisfaction (RS) was investigated longitudinally
among mothers (N=67,355), using data from the Norwegian Mother and Child Cohort Study (MoBa), conducted by the Norwegian Institute
of Public Health. Data were collected twice during pregnancy, and at 6 and 36 months postpartum. Satisfaction increased during
pregnancy, with RS decreasing immediately following birth and LS showing an initial increase followed by a decrease postpartum.
The results showed that LS and RS levels were quite stable over time (.46-.75), as was their cross-sectional associations
(.42-.59). Structural equation modeling using a cross-lagged longitudinal model evidenced cross-concept cross-time effects
for both LS and RS. The strengths of the cross-effects were asymmetrical and life-phase specific, with RS predicting change
in LS more than LS predicted changes in RS during pregnancy and infancy. Having a satisfying romantic relationship is important

The 30 item Maudsley Obsessional-Compulsive Inventory (MOCI) was given to 294 under graduate students. The inventory achieved an acceptable internal consistence, but somewhat low reliability. There were no sex difference in total MOCI score, or in any of the subscales. 31% of the variance seemed to be explained by item 18: "attending too much to details", and more than 65% of the variance is explained by the checking subscale. The data give some interesting indications of the prevalence of OCD in the population. 相似文献

The goal of the present study was to evaluate the differences between dichotic listening and mismatch negativity as measures of speech lateralization in the human brain. For this purpose, we recorded the magnetic equivalent of the mismatch negativity, elicited by consonant-vowel syllable change, and tested the same subjects in the dichotic listening procedure. The results showed that both methods indicated left-hemisphere dominance in speech processing. However, the mismatch negativity, as compared to the right-ear advantage, suggested slightly stronger left-hemisphere dominance in speech processing. No clear correlation was found between the laterality indexes of mismatch negativity and right-ear advantage calculated from dichotic listening results. The possible explanation for this finding would be that these two measures reflect different stages of speech processing in the human brain. 相似文献
