Does rejection lead to disidentification? The role of internal motivation and avoidance strategies

Getting rejected can either push newcomers out of the group or make them try harder to become accepted. It is suggested that newcomers' internal motivation to become a group member and their strategies determine the outcomes of rejection. It was expected that in rejected newcomers, avoidance strategies (but not approach strategies) lead to stronger disidentification. Moreover, the disidentification effect of avoidance strategies is predicted to be buffered by the internal motivation to become a group member. Two studies supported these predictions. Study 1 manipulated the group's feedback (rejection vs. acceptance) and assessed internal motivation and strategies. Study 2 measured feedback and replicated the findings in the field. Thus, by the adoption of the right motivational approach, newcomers can prepare themselves not to be driven out of a new group by the almost unavoidable experiences of rejection. 论影响儿童能力认识的内外部因素

儿童能力认识发展是元认知发展的重要方面,儿童对自身能力的认识与评价对于其成就动机、自我概念和人格特征等发展具有重要影响.儿童的能力认识受到多种因素的影响,而且这些因素之间存在复杂的交互作用,使得儿童能力认识呈现出复杂化特点.本文简要分析了影响儿童能力认识的内外部因素及其关系,并对该领域未来研究方向做一展望.     

社会主义核心价值体系的心理建设思路探析

本文提出了社会主义核心价值体系的心理建设思路,指出社会主义核心价值体系在促进心理和谐中具有认知主导、情绪调控、情感培育、意志锤炼、人格塑造的功能,并探讨了运用社会主义核心价值体系创新思想政治教育、创新心理健康教育与心理咨询的内容与方法、完善人文关怀和心理疏导机制及优化客观环境以促进心理和谐的途径.     

Interpersonal–Psychological Theory,Alexithymia, and Personality Predict Suicide Ideation among Maladjusted Soldiers in Taiwan

This case–control study enrolled 226 maladjusted soldiers and 229 controls to investigate the impact of the interpersonal–psychological theory of suicide, alexithymia, personality, and childhood trauma on suicide risk among Taiwanese soldiers. Assessments included the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Eysenck Personality Inventory, Mini‐International Neuropsychiatric Interview, and Brief Symptom Rating Scale. In addition to thwarted belongingness and perceived burdensomeness, other risks included less extraversion with higher neuroticism, higher alexithymia, poor academic performance, domestic violence, and life‐threatening events. Our study demonstrates the interaction of the interpersonal–psychological theory and other suicide risk factors in Taiwanese soldiers.
