Until recently, research on fathers has been guided by a deficit hypothesis or has tried to compare fathers with mothers in order to show similarities between them. In this article, it is shown that more recent research has confirmed the distinctive functions fathers have for the development of their children. Compared to mothers, fathers are more engaged in play and physical activities, focus more on the child's gender and are more supportive in nurturing their children's individuation processes. A distinctive function of fathers can also be verified in the psychopathology of their children. Different types of fathers are also discussed. 相似文献

I. Egner, The role of topos in the use of a Wobe particle.In the paper I am trying to show how a speaker using the particle {ie271-1} in his utterance calls upon a contextual assumption that can be formulated as a topos.After formulating a working hypothesis according to which the particle {ie271-2} signals to the hearer that the speaker's utterance is justified, I use English and Wobe paraphrases of the examples quoted in order to make explicit that justification.Wobe paraphrases given by the informant suggest that in using {ie271-3} the speaker calls upon t contextual assumption that he feels is relevant in the speech situation. To the extent that this assumption is based on common sense knowledge, it seemed appropriate to use Ducrot's notion of topos to formulate it, e.g. (T) [The deeper one gets into the bush, the fewer white people he meets].One of the examples quoted calls attention to the fact that the topos called upon by way of {ie271-4} may or may not be validated, i.e. confirmed in the speech situation.Finally, the validation or non-validation of a topos seems to determine the illocutionary value of a wh-question containing {ie271-5} as request for information or request for explanation respectively. Political aspects of processes involved in defining careers education and guidance are brought to light through an examination of debates surrounding the definition of guidance at four different points of the journey from policy to practice, and of related 'gaps' between 'theory' and 'practice'. It is argued that these 'gaps' cannot be adequately conceptualised within a curriculum evaluation paradigm. They result from the conflictual nature of curriculum change which, in this case, produced repeated contests over the definition of guidance, with different outcomes in different occupational settings. These outcomes, it is argued, were influenced not only by rational debate but by the distribution of power between the various groups of actors concerned. The politics of careers education and guidance are placed on the agenda for consideration by both researchers and practitioners. 相似文献

At least 30% of the patients, currently in psychotherapy, have been in one or more psychotherapeutic treatments before the beginnig of the actual treatment. A great number of these patients decided as a consequence of their experiences with the former therapeutic treatments to change not only the therapist but also the form of the psychotherapy. The task was to find out the reasons for this. 25 patients who had changed from one of the Guideline Therapies into a client-centred therapy (CCT) were interviewed about their reasons for this change. It was assumed, that the failing of earlier therapies was caused by a lack of matching between patient and therapist, treatment and disorder in the sense of the Generic Model of Psychotherapy (GMP) conceptualized by Orlinsky and Howard. The results support this hypotheses: For most of these patients CCT turned out to be a necessary and successful alternative to the previous treatments. Most of the patients reported that they responded better to the therapeutic offer of CCT. The reasons mentioned for choosing another form of psychotherapy support the necessity of a differential indication for psychotherapy on the basis of the GMP. 相似文献

The theory of triadic influence (TTI) was employed as a framework to explore the risk influences for cigarette smoking among an inclusive sample of young smokers. This qualitative study involved a purposive sample of 18 young smokers aged 18–24 years. Data were collected using individual interviews and analysed using thematic analysis. Following the TTI, factors found to influence young people’s initiation and perpetuation of smoking included at the intrapersonal level, sensation seeking, hedonic attitudes and poor coping skills; young smokers engage in cigarettes smoking to cope with social and psychological challenges like stress, worries, to aid digestion and for relaxation. At the interpersonal level, smokers were influenced by their peers and significant others like parents, brothers, teachers and mentors. Immediate risk influences for smoking included experimentation with cigarettes and the use of other substances like marijuana and alcohol. Intervention programmes targeted at building life skills and the ability to resist the pressure from peers and significant others to smoke are needed. 相似文献

Since 1998, soldiers deployed to war zones with the Danish Defense (≈31,000) have been invited to fill out a questionnaire on post‐mission reactions. This provides a unique data source for studying the psychological toll of war. Here, we validate a measure of PTSD‐symptoms from the questionnaire. Soldiers from two cohorts deployed to Afghanistan with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in 2009 (ISAF7, N = 334) and 2013 (ISAF15, N = 278) filled out a standard questionnaire (Psychological Reactions following International Missions, PRIM) concerning a range of post‐deployment reactions including symptoms of PTSD (PRIM‐PTSD). They also filled out a validated measure of PTSD‐symptoms in DSM‐IV, the PTSD‐checklist (PCL). We tested reliability of PRIM‐PTSD by estimating Cronbach's alpha, and tested validity by correlating items, clusters, and overall scale with corresponding items in the PCL. Furthermore, we conducted two confirmatory factor analytic models to test the factor structure of PRIM‐PTSD, and tested measurement invariance of the selected model. Finally, we established a screening and a clinical cutoff score by application of ROC analysis. We found high internal consistency of the PRIM‐PTSD (Cronbach's alpha = 0.88; both cohorts), strong item‐item (0.48–0.83), item‐cluster (0.43–0.72), cluster‐cluster (0.71–0.82) and full‐scale (0.86–0.88) correlations between PRIM‐PTSD and PCL. The factor analyses showed adequate fit of a one‐factor model, which was also found to display strong measurement invariance across cohorts. ROC curve analysis established cutoff scores for screening (sensitivity = 1, specificity = 0.93) and clinical use (sensitivity = 0.71, specificity = 0.98). In conclusion, we find that PRIM‐PTSD is a valid measure for assessing PTSD‐symptoms in Danish soldiers following deployment. 相似文献

This article reflects on transformations of modes of reading in an information age, asking what “creative reading” entails in information‐intensive, multimodal environments. We currently face the challenge of the development of reading strategies that oscillate between “close” and “distant” reading. For years, these reading strategies have been a topic of debate between practitioners of Digital Humanities on the one hand, and “traditional” humanists on the other. This ongoing polemics presents reading methods in an unnecessarily polarized manner. I argue that creativity research can be operationalized to come to a more productive model to characterize the ways we read in an information age. I show that the “schism” between close and distant reading is structured around a number of apparent paradoxes that I unravel such as hyper‐ and deep attention/attention and distraction, and convergence and divergence. The paradox of creativity resides in the fact that we find convergence in divergence and vice versa, that the two by definition intertwine. Building on these concepts, I propose a model that considers reading in terms of scale variance. I suggest the humanities turn to creativity research and the interrelations between divergent‐exploratory and convergent‐integrative thinking (Lubart), for a conceptual framework that will allow us to train students on all levels how to read (and how and when not to read), in an information age. 相似文献
