In this study the authors used cluster analysis to create racial identity profiles for a sample of Asian Americans using the People of Color Racial Identity Attitudes Scale (PCRIAS). A four-cluster solution was chosen: each cluster corresponded to one PCRIAS subscale and was named accordingly. Scores on the Asian American Racism-Related Stress Inventory and the Color-Blind Racial Attitudes Scale were compared across clusters. As expected, the Dissonance and Immersion clusters were characterized by relatively high racism-related stress and low levels of color-blind attitudes; the Conformity cluster showed roughly the opposite pattern. Surprisingly, the Internalization cluster showed a pattern similar to that for Conformity and thus may reflect "pseudoindependence" as discussed by Helms. 相似文献

Between-group and within-group differences in perceptions of behavior were examined among 74 Asian Americans and 111 European Americans. Participants rated videotaped interactions of Asian American mothers and daughters. Asian Americans, and a more homogeneous sample of Chinese Americans, perceived less maternal control and more reciprocity than did European Americans. Intra-cultural variations in perceptions were also evident, as within-group analyses revealed differences in perceptions based on the generational status of Asian Americans and the degree of multicultural experience of European Americans. Overall, findings suggest that perceptions of behavior are shaped as much by within-group differences in familiarity and experience with the target culture as by between-group differences in ethnicity. Implications for theories of child socialization, multicultural counseling, and observational research are discussed. 相似文献

This study explored a proposed conceptual scheme examining the relationship between perceived exertion, flow, and the attention strategies of association and dissociation. After establishing a maximal baseline, 60 rowers performed at 30%, 50%, and 75% of maximal workloads for 10 min on a rowing ergometer. Results revealed that as workload increased, attention shifted from dissociation to association. Flow also showed a change in endorsement of the 9 dimensions. We found a main effect for gender, but not for experience. Women exhibited higher global flow than did men during the 75% and maximal sessions. Results lend preliminary support for the proposed conceptual scheme in which perceived effort affects attention focus and flow experience. Limited resources and a steady flow in cases of trauma, loss, and abuse prompted the question, “What treatment approach would facilitate healing and the promotion of security?” The author illustrates how a unique culture and independent, frontier-minded individuals influenced her use of a systems and psychoeducational approach. ResumenEl estudio sobre los pronombres personales, constituye también una manera de investigar la adquisición del lenguaje y su desarrollo, dado que son categorías lingüísticas. El niño no adquiere el dominio de estas categorías tan pronto como lo hace con otros aspectos del lenguaje, aunque los usa desde muy temprana edad. De esta manera suponemos que al comienzo el niño utiliza las formas pronominales únicamente como deícticos. Esto es, sólo puede comprenderse el significado de estos términos en las expresiones infantiles con referencia al tiempo y al contexto comunicativo presente y concreto. Por esta razón autores como Clark, (1974, 1978), Charney (1980), afirman que le pronombre personal, en su sentido lingüístico, no es adquirido por los niños hasta los ocho o nueve años de edad.En el presente estudio intentamos poner de manifiesto cómo adquieren los niños españoles estos términos y cómo evolucionan en su desarrollo. Para ello, se realizó un análisis de la producción verbal de varios niños, en sus aspectos: sintáctico, semántico y pragmático. Dicha producción se recogió a través de observación natural.
