This article was written to remind career counselors of the potential depth and subjective impact of both unemployment and employment transitions. An existential framework is used in discussing today's world of work, previous and contemporary career counseling models, existential theory in career counseling, and existential considerations for career counselors. Results from 3 research projects are discussed in light of I. D. Yalom's (1980, 1998) 4 existential themes. Using quotations from participants, the authors move beyond theoretical ideas and underscore the real‐life importance of including the individual's larger subjective perspective when engaging in career counseling. The purpose of this study was to investigate the comparability of the Web‐based (L. K. Jones, 1997) and paper‐and‐pencil (L. K. Jones, 1997) versions of the Career Key career interest inventory. The concurrent validity of the Web‐based version was also assessed using the paper‐and‐pencil version as a criterion measure. A total of 61 female undergraduate students completed both versions of the Career Key. All coefficients were statistically significant, suggesting that for this sample of university women, the Web‐based version of the instrument yielded results that were comparable with those of the paper‐and‐pencil version. 相似文献

La relation entre le comportement antisocial au travail (ASB) et des traits de personnalité généraux a étéétudiée sur un échantillon composé de 267 salariés coréens. L'ASB au travail a été conceptualiséà partir de deux dimensions, l'ASB dirigée contre les individues (ASBI) et l'ASB dirigée contre l'organisation (ASBO). La personnalité a étéévaluée grâce au Big Five et à un sixième facteur ≪honnêteté-humilité≫ ( Ashton & Lee, 2001 ). Les analyses de régression multiple indiquèrent que l'honnêteté-humilité et l'extraversion jouaient un rôle essentiel dans la prédiction de l'ASBI et de l'ASBO. De plus, Agreeableness était reliée à l'ASBI tandis que Conscientiousness l'était à l'ASBO. On parle aussi de la nécessité d'adopter un modèle optimal des traits de personnalité.

Four experiments investigated the effects of testing and spacing on the learning of face‐name stimulus‐response pairs. Experiments 1a and 1b compared the recall of names following intervening tests versus additional study opportunities and found that testing produced better retention of names. Experiments 2 and 3 explored the effects of repeated tests versus study for massed, uniform, or expanded spacing intervals. Tested names were better retained than studied names, spaced names were better retained than massed names, and memory was best for items tested at spaced intervals. Contrary to past findings, expanded schedules did not yield better memory than uniform schedules in either experiment. A national survey of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Approved Supervisors found statistically significant bivariate relationships between their annual income in 1999 and their gender, professional identity, supervision setting, and geographic locale. Race, community size, and years of clinical experience were not significantly related to income statistically. 自上世纪80年代以来,行为遗传学取得了长足的进展。在定量遗传学方面,共享环境和非共享环境概念的引入深化了人们对环境作用的认识;对于环境和遗传关系,不仅认识到基因型-环境的交互作用可能存在三种形式,还揭示出遗传对环境测量的影响——基因型-环境的相关。分子遗传学作为新兴的研究途径,目前以寻找基因为主,将来则以认识基因如何工作为重。行为遗传学的发展前景将是定量遗传学和分子遗传学以行为基因组学为中心的整合。 相似文献

本研究运用《学生学习策略评价表》对安徽省两所中学的239名学生进行调查,考察中学生的英语学习策略水平及其与英语学业成绩的关系.结果发现:(1)中学生英语学习中经常使用的学习策略多集中于认知和调控策略.(2)省示范高中与一般中学学生在英语学习策略存在显著差异.性别上则不存在显著差异.(3)中学生的英语学习策略及其认知和调控策略与学生学业成绩之间呈显著正相关,交际和资源策略与学生的学业成绩则没有显著相关. 相似文献

选取240名大学二年级的学生,通过局域网信息反馈,进行了模拟投资的小组实验。结果发现,1、在连续性公共物品困境和自协调序列规则下,先前决策者的合作行为在决策的早期和中期起到了明显的榜样示范作用,并导致后续决策者的合作行为增加;2、这种示范作用在决策后期不起作用,被试出于搭便车或者担心自己利益受损的心理会表现出较高的竞争行为;3、先前决策者的竞争行为在整个决策过程中都起到明显的示范作用,使后续决策者的合作率保持在较低的水平;4、在没有任何信息反馈的情况下,被试倾向于在初期就做出投资决策,并表现出一定程度的合作行为。 相似文献

Three studies explored women’s bifurcation of feminine identity as a response to threatening stereotypes in the domain of mathematics. Study 1 demonstrated that women in a math class who previously had completed a large number of math courses disavowed “feminine characteristics” strongly associated with stereotypes about women’s potential for math success (e.g., flirtatiousness, planning to have children) but not characteristics perceived to be weakly associated with these stereotypes (e.g., empathy, nurturance), more than women who had completed fewer math courses. Studies 2 and 3 directly manipulated stereotype threat by presenting a scientific article reporting stereotype-consistent sex differences in math aptitude. As predicted, women strongly identified with mathematics responded to this threatening article by disavowing feminine characteristics strongly associated, but not those weakly associated, with the relevant negative stereotypes, while women not strongly identified with mathematics showed no such differentiation in response. Theoretical and practical implications of these results are discussed. 相似文献
