Renew is an integrative treatment consisting of 210 hours of programming for women Veterans to address sexual trauma, including military sexual trauma. The curriculum consists of a holistic approach to healing and is based on the principles of Holographic Reprocessing. Of the 119 women Veterans enrolled in an uncontrolled outcome study (e.g., completed pre- and post-treatment questionnaires), 80 of the participants reported multiple traumas across their lifespan and 95 experienced military sexual trauma. Of the 112 who started treatment, 97 graduated (13 % dropout rate). Graduates showed a significant reduction in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychiatric symptoms, and posttraumatic negative cognitions (up to 60 % had reliable clinical change at the 95 % confidence interval), and significant increases in self-esteem, optimism, and satisfaction with life with large to moderate effect sizes. These initial data are promising and further research is warranted to test if Renew is effective to treat women Veterans with complex issues including sexual trauma, PTSD, medical problems, chronic pain, and histories of homelessness and substance abuse.  相似文献

Co‐operative Bank Financial Advisers Ltd (CBFA) is a wholly‐owned subsidiary of the Co‐operative Bank plc. Established since 1972, it specialises in the provision of independent financial advice to personal and corporate customers across the financial services spectrum. Based in Stockport in the north‐west of the UK, CBFA conducts its business via a nationally‐based team of independent financial advisers (IFA), offering a bespoke service to customers at a mutually agreed time and location—usually bank premises, business premises or in the client's own home. In the late 1990s, CBFA faced a crisis. A number of marketplace challenges threatened the long‐term viability of its business. In this paper, one of the management team members describes how her organisation used its understanding of customer decision‐making—backed by good customer research—to regain its footing in a difficult and competitive marketplace. The degree to which item and associative information can be distinguished at retrieval was assessed using a frequency-judgment task. Words were shown various numbers of times individually and as members of word pairs. At test, subjects judged the frequency of the word pairs and a word’s frequency as an individual item, its frequency as a member of word pairs, or the combined frequency of the word. Subjects made all of these judgments with considerable accuracy. The frequency of presentations in the nontarget format had consistent, but small, effects on the judgments for the target frequencies. The results provide further support for the distinction between item and associative information and for the source-monitoring framework of Johnson, Hashtroudi, and Lindsay (1993), and they have important implications for global matching models of memory.  相似文献

Across the globe, collective action has been a notable driver of social change. Previous research has identified numerous psychological antecedents of collective action participation, such as group efficacy. The mobilizing influence of social norms, however, has been comparatively neglected. Among a nationally representative Chilean sample (N = 3328), a three-wave longitudinal study tested the relationship between the perceived frequency of family and friends' participation in social movements (norms of close social networks) and change in the frequency of participants' own engagement over time. Perceived efficacy of social movements to facilitate social change was tested as a mediator of this relationship. A fully constrained bidirectional cross-lagged panel model revealed that norms of close social networks significantly predicted social-movement participation over time. This longitudinal relationship was also significantly mediated by group efficacy. Direct reverse paths were also observed, with social-movement participation predicting norms of close social networks over time. Considering low degrees of political participation often seen in societies, these results suggest that utilizing the normative context to promote participation in social movements may prove fruitful in mobilizing the drive for social change.  相似文献
