Workplace branding has generated more attention in the practitioner community than academia. A contributing factor for the
sparse academic research is the fact that the theoretical foundation of workplace branding has not been fully developed. In
addressing this need, this article outlines how workplace branding uses a similar approach used in marketing a product or
service to build an effective workplace brand. An increasing potent form of workplace branding lies in the new popular annual
“best employer” surveys. In reviewing various “best employer” surveys, we identify eight common themes in terms of human resources
best practices associated with outcomes ranging from high levels of retention to increased rates of growth in sales and profit.
Finally, this article presents several research issues and questions that should be addressed in the future. 相似文献

Theoretical perspectives and research in sociology, anthropology, sociolinguistics, and cultural psychology converge in recognizing the significance of children's time spent in various activities, especially in the family context. Knowing how children's time is deployed, however, only gives us a partial answer to how children acquire competence; the other part must take into account the culturally constructed meanings of activities, from the perspective of those who organize and direct children's daily lives. In this article, we report on a study of children's routine daily activities and on the meanings that parents attribute to them in six Western middle-class cultural communities located in Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United States (N = 183). Using week-long time diaries kept by parents, we first demonstrate similarities as well as significant differences in children's daily routines across the cultural samples. We then present brief vignettes--"a day in the life" --of children from each sample. Parent interviews were coded for themes in the meanings attributed to various activities. Excerpts from parent interviews, focusing on four major activities (meals, family time, play, school- or developmentally related activities), are presented to illustrate how cultural meanings and themes are woven into parents' organization and understanding of their children's daily lives. The results of this mixed-method approach provide a more reliable and nuanced picture of children's and families' daily lives than could be derived from either method alone. 相似文献

A systematic review of the published literature from 1995 to 2007 considers the published evidence on the use of interventions
employing Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy in criminal justice efforts to reduce re-offending. Thirty-six studies are briefly
described, summarised and appraised for research quality using a six point scale. Twenty-four studies were excluded from further
analysis due to insufficiently rigorous or weak research design and method. Twelve studies were appraised as sufficiently
robust to reliably inform the research interest. Further analysis of the studies indicated an association between negative
emotional states and offending behaviour, some evidence of REBT effectiveness in treating emotional disturbance in offender
populations, and mixed evidence of REBT effectiveness in reducing re-offending. It is concluded that interventions using REBT
might be a promising approach for aiding criminal justice aims to reduce re-offending. 相似文献

Depressive symptoms in patients presenting with coronary heart disease have an impact on quality of life, health behavior, and prognosis. The psychotherapeutic interventions which had been tested for their efficacy in previous randomized controlled trials, showed only minor effects. A stepwise approach consisting of individual and group psychotherapeutic interventions was tested for efficacy in a German multicenter study. The presented paper describes the therapeutic procedure for two individual sessions and one couple session by means of case examples. The main focus was to determine depressive symptoms along with underlying maladaptive personality traits such as negative affectivity and social inhibition (type D pattern). Depressive mood, disappointments and mortifications both in private and professional life and also during the previous treatment are verbalized. Dysfunctional relation patterns and maladaptive sickness behavior are taken up by the psychotherapist and alternative behavior patterns are developed. The objective of the couple session is strengthening the partnership resources and offering relief of fears and worries relative to the heart disease. The psychotherapeutic procedure is psychodynamically oriented but also contains cognitive-behavioral and interactional treatment approaches. 相似文献

The prominence of the different methods of working in and with groups, especially group analysis, group dynamics and psychodrama, came to a peak during the cultural changes of the 1960s and 1970s. This applied both to the therapeutic and educational fields and then more and more also to business and administration but since then is slowly fading in all fields. The reasons for this development, specifically in the German speaking countries, are discussed in six theses. The arguments relate to: 1) the differentiation of the psychosocial field, 2) the (successful) diffusion of these methods, 3) the intermezzo character of their success, 4) the inability to modernize, 5) the ambivalent consequences of modernization and 6) the changes in the cultural significance of the group. 相似文献

An investigation of the psychometric properties of the German version of the Group Questionnaire (GQ; Krogel 2009) is described. The GQ is a self-report instrument economically enabling the assessment of helpful aspects of relationships within small groups. Due to the limited length of the questionnaire it provides a tool of monitoring bonding to the group, the quality of the working relationship as well as negative aspects during group treatment. One advantage of the GQ is that it measures relationships on three different relational levels (group members, group leader and the group as a whole). Following a test of the multidimensional structure of the GQ-D using data from a multisite study (N=438) with structural equation models, the GQ-D was validated using other process measures. The GQ-D proved to be an objective, valid and reliable measure to assess relevant therapeutic relationships within groups. 相似文献

Rating scales are often used to measure behavioral constructs. Yet, different informants’ ratings may not necessarily agree.
The situational specificity (SS) perspective postulates that discrepancies between ratings by different informants are primarily
attributable to contextual behavior of the people being rated. The multitrait-multimethod (MTMM) perspective, however, attributes
discrepancies between informants to rater bias, i.e., each informant provides a systematically distorted picture of the person
being rated. Similarly, the Attribution-Bias-Context (ABC) perspective also attributes informant discrepancies to systematic
biases. Within the context of measuring hierarchical constructs, we proposed a hybrid perspective that takes account of variance
attributable to the behavior of the person being rated in a particular context from the perspective of a specific informant.
We then provided a parametric representation of this perspective and analyses of mother, teacher, and self-ratings of Rule-Breaking
and Aggressive Behavior to illustrate features of the model. Strengths and limitations of the SS, MTMM, and hybrid perspectives

Difficulties with emotion and its regulation are of central importance to the etiology and course of depression. The current
study investigated these constructs in relation to childhood and adolescence by comparing the emotional functioning of 170
9- to 15-year-olds reporting high levels of depressive symptoms (HD) to a matched sample of 170 children and adolescents reporting
low levels of depressive symptoms (LD). Compared to LD, HD participants reported significantly greater shame proneness, poorer
functioning on emotion regulation competencies (emotional control, self-awareness and situational responsiveness), less healthy
emotion regulation strategy use (less reappraisal and greater suppression), and lower levels of guilt proneness. Empathic
concern did not differ between the two groups. The findings enhance current knowledge by providing a more comprehensive profile
of the emotional difficulties experienced by children and adolescents with elevated depressive symptoms. 相似文献
