We report the case of an 11-year-old boy who developed an anarithmetia in association with a left temporo-parietal tumor. His oral and written language were normal as well as his ability to judge magnitudes, process numbers, read operation signs and retrieve number facts. He had a specific difficulty in performing the procedures of subtraction, especially when it involved borrowing. These skills had been mastered before the present illness. This case shows that the components of calculation can be dissociated by brain lesions sustained during childhood, while arithmetic abilities are being acquired, thus reinforcing findings from developmental dyscalculias, that suggest a modular organisation of those skills during development. 相似文献

The recovery behaviour of vacancy-type defects created at 1000°C in Fe3(Al1– x Si x ) alloys has been investigated by positron-lifetime measurements in samples cooled to room temperature by water quenching, air quenching and furnace cooling. In addition, a set of samples was aged for one week at 520°C. After water quenching, measurements reveal a high concentration of thermal vacancies, and from the decrease of the average positron lifetime it is inferred that vacancy recovery is strongly composition-dependent. Greater decreases of the positron lifetime were found for Si-rich samples, suggesting diffusion enhancement as the Si concentration increases. For the Fe3Al alloy, the retained vacancy concentration depends strongly on the cooling rate. This is related to atomic ordering and a rebuilding of the D03 structure. 相似文献

The present study explores whether Karasek's Job Demand–Control (JDC) model's strain hypothesis can be applied to target's reports of bullying at work in matched samples of Spanish and Belgian blue-collar workers. In the Spanish sample, results reveal a positive main effect of workload and a negative main effect of autonomy. The relationship between workload and bullying is particularly strong under the condition of low autonomy (i.e., interaction), in line with Karasek's strain hypothesis. In the Belgian sample, results show a positive main effect of workload and a significant workload–autonomy interaction effect in accordance with the strain hypothesis. In sum, high strain jobs associate with target's reports of bullying in both the Spanish and Belgian sample. Karasek's JDC model may accordingly be extended to target's reports of bullying as a form of social behavioural strain. These findings furthermore enhance research in the realm of bullying at work by introducing a well-established theoretical framework to account for the relationship between workload, autonomy, and target's reports of bullying. 相似文献

In Nigeria, outpatient care forms the bulk of the psychiatric service. While there are no published data, empirical observations indicate that default may be high and exerting a huge toll on the cost of care. The aims were to determine the first-appointment default rate among newly seen outpatients in a psychiatric clinic and to identify factors associated with it. The study was a survey of all newly seen patients from 1 January 2006 to 31 January 2006, and who were given a follow-up appointment. A total of 223 new patients were seen. Of these, 151 (67.7%) turned up for their appointment, 61 (27.4%) defaulted, and 11 (4.9%) were referred. Defaulters were more likely to be Christians, younger in age, and in employment. On using correlation statistics, respondents’ religion and occupational status demonstrated a linear relationship and a significant association with follow-up attendance/non-attendance. The rate of non-attendance at first follow-up is of clinical concern, and the possible contribution of religion to this may be enormous. Clinicians and health policy makers need to be sensitive to this. The introduction of community psychiatric services and collaboration between orthodox and traditional/religious practitioners may help reduce default rates. 相似文献

This pilot study examined the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary outcomes of a linguistically and culturally adapted intervention for immigrant Latina mothers with depression and their families. Fortalezas Familiares (Family Strengths) is a community‐based, 12‐week, multifamily group intervention that aims to increase communication about family processes leading up to and affected by the mother's depression, build child coping and efficacy, enhance parenting competence and skills, and promote cultural and social assets within the family. In terms of feasibility, of 16 families who enrolled and participated in the intervention, 13 families attended more than 90% of meetings and completed the intervention. Posttests reported positive changes following the intervention, including improved psychological functioning, increased family and marital support, and enhanced family functioning, as reported by mothers and other caregivers. Mothers also reported decreased conduct and hyperactivity problems among their children. Children reported positive changes in their psychological functioning and coping, parenting warmth and acceptance, and overall family functioning. Postintervention focus groups and surveys measuring acceptability revealed families' satisfaction with the intervention and suggested areas of improvement. We discuss similarities and differences in outcomes between the adapted intervention, Fortalezas Familiares, and the original intervention, Keeping Families Strong, and propose future areas of intervention adaptation and development. 相似文献

ResumenEl presente articulo trata de ofrecer una visión general de cuál es el estado en que se encuentran las teorías sobre el proceso de escritura. Para ello se expone, en primer lugar, cuál ha sido la evolución de los supuestos que subyacen a los modelos de escritura, modelos que pueden clasificarse en tres grandes grupos: los modelos de traducción, los modelos de etapas y los actuales modelos cognitivos. En segundo lugar, se señalan algunos factores que han contribuido a la aparición de estos últimos, así como algunos de sus objetivos y requisitos. A continuación se expone el modelo de Flower y Hayes (1979, 1980, 1981 a y b) como un ejemplo prototípico de esta orientación. Por último, se ofrecen una serie de conclusiones respecto a la evolución de los modelos, respecto a las características comunes generales que comparten los modelos cognitivos y respecto a las tendencias actuales en la construcción de dichas teorías. 相似文献

También realiza un balance del estado actual de la psicomotricidad, ejemplifica qué entiende por “diálogo tónico” y explica las diferencias entre los juegos de niños y niñas de siete, ocho y nueve años, admitiendo la distinta organización tónica de los sexos. Por último el autor se centra en el trabajo clínico, ofreciendo sugerencias para aquéllos que empiezan a llevarlo a cabo en España. RESUMENEn este trabajo los autores presentan una primera adaptación al castellano del Test Discriminativo Neurológico Rápido (QNST), de Mutti, Sterling y Spalding (1974–1978). Para ello comienzan describiendo los catorce subtests que componen la prueba, cómo se corrige y los estudios de validez y fiabilidad realizados. Seguidamente presentan su propio estudio del test, teniendo en cuenta variables tales como edad, sexo, “status” y procedencia rural-urbana (esta última sólo para seleccionar la muestra) y realizan unos baremos referidos a una muestra de la población española. Los autores encuentran que los siete y ocho años son edades clave en las que se producen cambios significativos en la ejecución del QNST, que las diferencias encontradas según el sexo son mínimas y que el nivel cultural influye en la realización de algunas tareas. 相似文献
