This article reviews the contributions of basic reasoning mechanisms to the generation of creative ideas. The investigated reasoning mechanisms are deduction, induction, abduction, specialization/generalization, and elementary memory associations. The article claims that if we measure creativity by outcomes, that is, by the quality of the resulting ideas, then these basic forms of reasoning can be considered at least mildly creative. The claim is backed by references to computer programs which have generated creative outcomes, and by the outcomes of computer based reasoning activities shown in the article. Limitations of this approach to creativity are also discussed, particularly, difficulties in the recognition of creative ideas.  相似文献

Social flexibility was predicted to correlate with anxious/ambivalent attachment among individuals reminded of attachment-related uncertainties. In the experiment reported here, subjects wrote about positive versus negative relationship events and then responded to a series of interpersonal conflict situations. Correlations between their responses and previously obtained attachment style scores provide supportive evidence for the predictions. The results suggest that anxious/ambivalent attachment may limit social flexibility by interfering with information processing in complex social situations. Results are discussed in terms of models of test anxiety.  相似文献

An experimental study on 12 healthy volunteers showed that an amnesic effect of a therapeutic dose of diazepam (10 mg 3 times a day) may be explained by a theory of state-dependent learning. Asymmetric state-dependence was demonstrated by visually as well as verbally learned material, but in the latter case there was also evidence of an anticonsolidating effect upon learning. The findings are related to drug dependence, and it is suggested that therapeutic gains obtained during long-term diazepam treatment may not transfer to the no-drug state.  相似文献

Delusions have for a long time been regarded as one of the major signs of mental disorder. Above all else they are cognitive phenomena in that they purport to express ideas about the world or the self. Despite this it is only relatively recently that the ideas and methods of cognitive psychology have been used in the study of delusions, at least in any systematic way. This paper reviews the work carried out so far, which is starting to yield some consistent trends. These include an excessively self-seeking bias in judgments made by people with delusions and a tendency to make judgments on the basis of rather less evidence than controls.  相似文献
