AbstractThe Creating Lasting Family Connections® (CLFC) program is designed to help improve relationship skills and reduce antisocial behaviors. Strader and colleagues propose that prosocial connectedness is responsible for program outcomes. We propose that the intersection of high agreeableness and low impulsivity represent an operational definition. We examined this definition in the context of a RCT with 246 men in prison reentry. CLFCFP increased the number of connected individuals. Being connected and the program independently impacted relationship skills, but no evidence was found to support the hypothesis that the program impacts would be more pronounced among those who were connected. 相似文献

This article argues that contemporary Buddhist memoirs are an important source to investigate and understand the phenomenon of modern Buddhism. Modern Buddhism is a current development in which Buddhists consider their tradition in new ways. The connections between life stories and modern Buddhist traits are striking. No document can get closer to the source of this movement than a life story. In this article I consider this in terms of the memoirs of the German Buddhist nun Ayya Khema and the Sinhalese monk Bhante Gunaratana. Although the figures may not represent all of the categories of modern Buddhism, the reader understands their choices in terms of their entire lives. Previous work by Soldz and Soldz (1989) indicated that variations in repertory grid features can have a significant impact on the interpretation of the Landfield Functionally Independent Construction Score (FIC), which is a measure of cognitive differentiation. In this study, we showed that four different grid measures (FIC, Total number of zeroes, and the number of midpoint ratings used to indicate either equality or nonapplicability) can be effected by the use of a certain scale size (3-point, 7-point, 13-point), and by the direction of administration (completing the grid in a downwards direction vs. an across-wise direction). In addition, correlations between the number of zero ratings and the total FIC scores for each of the different scale sizes and directions showed evidence to support and to qualify previous work conducted by Soldz and Soldz (1989). In general, high positive correlations were found, suggesting the impact of zero ratings on FIC scores. But the magnitude of the correlations between the zero ratings and the total FIC scores varied as a function of the scale size, the direction of administration, and the meaning of the zero rating (neutrality vs. nonapplicability), raising theoretical, as well as procedural, considerations for future repertory grid research. 相似文献

The wraparound process aims to provide an effective practice-level approach to coordinating care for youths with complex behavioral health needs, and reformed system structures to support such integration of care. The current study provides an update to two prior surveys of state children’s mental health directors, completed in 1998 and 2007, on the extent of wraparound implementation in the United States and implementation supports that have been employed. Results from 2013 found that 100 % of states reported having some type of wraparound program that conformed to the definition and yielded an estimate of 75,000 children and families served via wraparound in that year. States reported a continued increase in use of wraparound standards; however, fewer states reported collection of fidelity data, and availability of internal resources for training and coaching. Over three-quarters of states reported availability of parent to parent peer support, and 46 % of states are supporting wraparound implementation by blending or braiding funding across child-serving systems. Results also revealed that 61 % of states had a centralized oversight entity for wraparound, an important finding given that such “statewideness” was also associated with more youth served, greater accountability, use of standards, and other implementation supports. 相似文献

International travel is a significant component in the making of transnational Buddhism. This article argues that through even limited international travel and exchange with Buddhist teachers, networks of exchange can be created. Focusing on international meditation centres in Thailand, I delineate three mediums through which meditation teachers, in conjunction with their students, build institutional transnational links. Using case studies from various lineages and teachers within Thailand’s international meditation centres, this article reveals the stories and relationships that spread Thai Buddhist meditation abroad. Service use disparities have been noted to impede under‐resourced families' ability to access high‐quality services for their child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). These disparities are particularly relevant for parent‐mediated interventions and may suggest a lack of fit between these interventions and the needs of under‐resourced community settings. This study used Roger's Diffusion of Innovations theory to guide community partnerships aimed at understanding the perceived compatibility, complexity, and relative advantage of using an evidence‐based, parent‐mediated intervention (Project ImPACT) within a Medicaid system. Three focus groups were conducted with 16 Medicaid‐eligible parents, and three focus groups were conducted with 16 ASD providers operating within a Medicaid system. Across all groups, parents and providers reported general interest in using Project ImPACT. However, primary themes emerged regarding the need to (a) reduce the complexity of written materials; (b) allow for a more flexible program delivery; (c) ensure a strong parent–therapist alliance; (d) involve the extended family; and (e) help families practice the intervention within their preexisting routines. Results are discussed as they relate to the design and fit of evidence‐based, parent‐mediated interventions for under‐resourced community settings. 相似文献
