The paper resumes the discussion of obsessional disorders in view of developments that have followed the 1965 Congress of the International Psychoanalytical Association when the last systematic analytic discussion of the Obsessional Neuroses took place. The paper reexamines principal contributions to that congress in an attempt to understand the failure of psychoanalysis to favorably influence the course of these disorders. It notes the subsequent findings of a burgeoning field of child observation that have called attention to the larger infant-caregiver constitutive system within which the intrapsychic phenomenology of the obsessional neuroses is produced and maintained. It draws attention to the crucial impact of the analyst and his causal theories, insufficiently recognized at the lime, in the co-determination of the course and outcome of analytic treatment and proposes a contextual systems approach to the reconfigured understanding of normal and pathological development. The paper discusses the special role of cumulative trauma in the infant-caregiver system on the formation of enduring obsessional and compulsive patterns. It suggests that in the traumatic developmental system, endangerment to the self and unbearable pain are ever-present threats lo the child, and protective strategies, including importantly the processes of pathological accommodation, occupy a primary motivational status. It describes the automatic shaping of subsequent experience by the internalization of such processes in template formation. Freud's emphasis on aggression and unconscious guilt in the pathogenesis of the obsessional neuroses system is reexamined in the light of the contextual perspective proposed, and a clinical excerpt is offered to illustrate the thesis of aggression and guilt as contextual products of a traumatic developmental system. Special considerations that enter into the reconfigured analytic treatment of obsessional disorders are proposed, and some observations follow about problems commonly encountered in the new approach. The paper argues for the systematic extension of the quintessential psychoanalytic tools of empathic-introspective investigation and illumination into the contextualization of inner experience in a fresh approach to the psychoanalytic treatment of these disorders. 相似文献

Apraxia is one of the cognitive deficits that characterizes Alzheimer’s disease. Despite its prevalence and relevance to diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease, this topic has received little attention and is without comprehensive review. The review herein is aimed to fill this gap by first presenting an overview of the impairment caused in different clinical situations: pantomime of tool use, single tool use, real tool use, mechanical problem solving, function and manipulation knowledge tasks, and symbolic/meaningless gestures. On the basis of these results, we then propose alternative interpretations regarding the nature of the underlying mechanisms impaired by the disease. This is a study of two authors who wrote about Islam for youth: Florence Mary Fitch and Reza Aslan. Fitch's book, Allah, the God of Islam: Moslem Life and Worship (1950), and Aslan's No God but God: The Origins, Evolution of Islam (2011b) offer both historical and current views of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad. Although they wrote some 61 years apart, a review of their works reveals similar views, especially concerning the need for reform in Islam. This study reveals two different worldviews about the development of Islam. Fitch's views, although generally supportive of Islam, reflect Western society's view of Islam and Mohammad over half a century ago, while Aslan, a Muslim-reformist, emphasizes current democratic and humanitarian aspects of Islam that are well-suited for the modern world. Subjects discussed include Mohammad's revelations from Allah, the conquering of Mecca by Mohammad and the ending of idolatry, the beginning of Islam as a dominant religion, the role of women in Islam, the hijab and its origins and use, the jihad and its various meanings and applications, the Quran and its conflicting interpretations, the development and decline of the Caliphate, and the decentralization of Islam. The author distinguishes between the ways that the Independent Group and Relational Theorists conceptualize object survival, play, enactment, and mutuality. American relational theory is simultaneously focused on both the patient's and analyst's experience and the patient's inner representational world. Interaction is informed by and informs our understanding of the patient's conflicts including forms of enactment. In contrast, analysts from the Independent Group tend to view the American interest in interpersonal phenomena and perceptual dimensions of the patient's experience as a distraction from unconscious representations. For relational analysts in the United States, maternal functions of reverie emphasized by the Independent Group are seen as one dimension of the analyst's complex subjectivity, which may be used in containment and interpretation. For relationally oriented analysts containment itself is postulated as to some degree porous unlike the notion of analytic functions of reverie emphasized by the Independent Group. This paper attempts to refute the familiar sceptical argument based upon the theoretical possibility of systematic transpositions of colours in different observers’ colour‐vision. The force of this argument lies in its apparent demonstration that cases of transposed colour‐vision would be on a quite different cognitive footing from ordinary cases of colour‐blindness; since colour transposition, unlike colour‐blindness, could not possibly have any effect on the use of language by a person who suffered from it. It is argued (1) that this demonstration works only if we assume the truth of a certain theory of the logical nature of our colour vocabulary, and (2) that this theory is false. 相似文献

Nineteen upper-middle class college couples who were engaged or going “steady” received a specially constructed thematic test as well as the Baughman modification of the Rorschach. Sixteen thematic and 47 Rorschach variables were scored. It was predicted that actual couples would show significantly smaller discrepancies from each other than randomly paired men and women. Eight significant values resulted relating to emotional tone and adequacy on the thematic test and color and form on the Rorschach. Based on these findings and on the constricted scores for many variables, the modest statistical significance is believed to be an underestimate of the true significance. Perception scores may be a valuable adjunct to questionnaires and inventories in predicting marital choice. 相似文献
