We compared a group of Down syndrome participants with a group of normally developing children matched on mental age in a lexical learning task. Participants had to learn the name of four unfamiliar animals or musical instruments. Training was assessed through a naming and a pointing task, immediately after the end of the training phase, two days later, or two weeks later. Results revealed that participants with Down syndrome were better than the control group in the naming (production) task. We conclude that the learning processes involved in a novel name-learning task are not impaired in the Down syndrome persons. The two groups used the contextual cues in the same way. Finally, the notion of fast mapping in lexical learning is also discussed.  相似文献

The cognitive sciences are all at once a scientific field with far-reaching epistemological implications and the locus of institutional confrontation between several academic disciplines. In this context, cognitive psychology occupies a key historical and theoretical position. It is therefore essential to clearly situate its contribution to the origin and the development of the cognitive sciences. For some, cognitive psychology may end up being dissolved by cognitive neuroscience, with its brain imaging techniques, which in the long run, should solve the age-old problem of brain-mind dualism. For others, this epistemic wager can only be won by reducing cognition to its most elementary states and processes. Here, the problem of mental representation (of meaning and consciousness) is brought to bear to rule out a view that strictly reduces the mind to the brain. Will the cognitive sciences, then, be nothing more than a mere stage in the integration of cognitive psychology into the cognitive neurosciences? Or on the contrary, will the other disciplines in the cognitive sciences be led to recognize the specificity of cognitive psychology and put it at the centre of their research program? The debate is underway, but the scientific and institutional outcome is uncertain.  相似文献

The aim of our research project is to study what contribution the new technologies can bring to teaching and learning. So, we have chosen a pluridiciplinary approach, combining the exploration of computer potentialities with the integration of research studies about the learning application. The application is a tutor module of AMICAL project (Architecture Multi-agent Interactive Compagnon pour l'Apprentissage de la Lecture). The issue is to determine and to explain the knowledge at work in a teaching process. To begin with, we shall explain the different decision-making processes, which characterize the teaching act. This longitudinal study investigated the processes of coping and change for 60 women with breast cancer and their close relations (N = 60). Our study is based on interview's analysis and on the answers to a scale of coping (Ways of Coping Checklist). Results reveal higher rates of seeking social support strategy for patients at the time of the surgical operation (T1) and after the treatments (T2) compared to their close relations (“t Student” tests, p < 0,01). The longitudinal analysis shows an increase of problem solving strategy at T2 only for patients (p < 0,02). The nature of the change perceptions differs according to the status (patient/close relations), and seems to be a constituent of the coping with the serious illness.  相似文献

The study of concepts in cognitive psychology has generally been anthropocentric with respect to both content and theory. A broader comparative perspective on the various forms of concept learning would provide a more inclusive view of conceptual behavior. It would also provide a more objective perspective from which to identify underlying processes. Several of the major varieties of conceptual classes claimed for humans alone also appear to be represented in nonhuman animals and young children: perceptual classes involving classification according to the shared attributes of objects, associative classes or functional equivalences in which stimuli form a class based on common associations and relational classes, in which the conceptual relationship between stimuli defines the class.  相似文献

Mirror neurons were discovered in the 1990's by cognitive neuroscientists from Parma. How central are mirror neurons in primates, social cognition. Do mirror neurons enable an observer to match the agent's observed movements onto her own motor repertoire? Does this matching enable the observer to represent the agent's intention, as argued by Rizzolatti et al? A positive answer to these questions can't be provided unless one assumme that mirror neurons compute the goal of an action by means of a “forward model” of the perceived action. However, the experimental evidence rather suggests that mirror neurons compute the motor means for achieving the desired goal, in accordance with an “inverse model” of the perceived action.  相似文献

Our scientific systems mirror our mental constraints: the limits of our mental representations lead us to a better reconstitution of the world by some scientific theories. Thus, the ways of representation by a mental system provide a fruitful paradigm for epistemology. To tackle this point, we start from an experiment of psychology on the impact of seed data on the representation of geography. We try to generalize the concept of seed data in the framework of the theory of analogical foundation of representations. A parallel is outlined between: 1) the integration of a piece of information into a mental system; 2) the integration of data into a scientific system. The field of psychology is crossed by a whole of lines of ruptures which founds it in structural crisis. This crisis finds its stressing in a context in which cleavages grow hollow. Those us will retain of them some of which: 1) dissociation enters psychology like knowing, psychology like exercise and psychology like trade and profession; 2) dissociations enter psychologies cognitive and clinical, between the psychology clinic and the psychoanalysis, between the ideal models and the clinical practices; 3) dissociations between the nomination and the title, the statute and the responsibilities, professional autonomy and the hierarchical tender; 4) dissociations between professional way and university formation, clinical formation and clinical responsibilities; 5) dissociations between transmission of knowing and transmission of a professional identity, between the profile of the recruited teachers and the needs for a professionnal formation. Compared to this context various proposals are projections relating to the constitution of a body of teachers experts, with the installation of a “clinicat” leading to a doctorate of exercise, with the installation of a unit organization, with the precedence of the professionals in the delivery of the right of occupational exercise.  相似文献

In this paper, the results of two sets of studies show the impact that social representations of competences may have on professional assessment processes. People who belong to different occupational categories make different inferences about the competences required by activities submitted to them for analysis. Differences are also found when respondents analyse the activities of their own occupational category vs another category. The assessment of motivation letters to get a job is correlated with the beliefs of the writer that intrinsic or extrinsic motives would be better assessed. These beliefs are supposed to be some kinds of representations of competences. Implications of these results for assessment practices are given.  相似文献

After a brief recall of the importance of the notion of behaviour in psychology, of its multiple functions and of the complexity underlying this concept. the entries included by ICD 10 and DSM III and IV under the terms "behaviour and conduct disorders" are described. We discuss the nosological status of these diagnosis and the use for deviant behaviours of a medical model in which neurobiological and/or genetic factors are prominent. Contrary to this reductionist position, we sustain the necessity of a psychopathological approach taking account of a polyfactorial model of psychic development, which integrates psychodynamic factors of structuration of personality as well as neuroscience issues. Such a perspective seems to us better represented by the French Classification of Child and Adolescent Mental Disorders, in which behaviour disorders are considered as symptoms which can present in various psychopathological structures.  相似文献

The goal is to explain Down syndrome social language disturbances. Down's syndrome and non-handicapped children were observed interacting with their mothers. We compared 22 dyads with Down syndrome children and 22 dyads with non-handicapped children. Down's syndrome children were matched on mental age with non-handicapped children (4 to 24 months). Social context, mothers' behaviours and children's social communicative competences were evaluated. Interaction behaviours in the mothers of DS children differ from those of mothers of non-handicapped children. DS communicative competences also are different from those in non-handicapped children. We argue that mothers' behavioural interaction in the dyads with DS children can be an aspect of social communicative disturbances of DS children.  相似文献

In the context of studies on mechanisms of emotional treatment and regulation in affective blunting, this paper focalizes on those whose objective is to disminish awareness of subjective emotional experience. The cognitive mechanism of repression is first presented, defined as a coping strategy which, used in a habitual way, is conceptualised as a personality dimension. Its role on the whole panel of emotional components and the researches on its underlying cognitive mechanisms, in particular those which may explain the observed memory deficits for negative emotional events, are developed. The paper also presents models of maturation of emotional awareness, differentiating several hypothetic ways of emotional treatment which determine specific emotional subjective experiences. In regard of studies which have explored these modes of emotional treatment in alexithymia, hypotheses on their role in the blunting of affect process and on the quality of subjective experience are proposed.  相似文献

Exercising regularly represents a challenging public health issue. The purpose of this study was to extend prior research based on self-determination theory by considering perceptions of conflict-instrumentality with regard to physical activity. A 6-month prospective study was conducted among 62 adults. In January, their self-determined motivation toward exercise and work was assessed by questionnaire, as well as their perceptions associated to the role of exerciser. Their presence was then controlled until the end of the season. The analyses revealed a negative relationship between self-determined motivation and role conflicts, and between this variable and observed assiduity. Those results are discussed with regard to their practical implications for exercise adherence.  相似文献
