In order to test the robustness of our model for treating schizophrenic patients in group therapy, we replicated our previous study of an inpatient schizophrenic group and also explored process in an outpatient schizophrenic group using the Hill Interaction Matrix (HIM-G). In agreement with the prior study, the results showed the groups to have a uniquely high Confrontive score, representing the highest level of group work in the Hill system, and the rank order of HIM-G scores of the groups correlated significantly with each other. This suggests that our clinical approach can be taught to different therapists and has reliability across setting.Parts of this paper were presented in a poster session at the American Group Psychotherapy Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco, February 21–25, 1989.  相似文献

Forty pairs of monozugotic and 40 pairs of dizygotic like-sexed twins were tested on WAIS. Estimates of genetic variance, environmental variance within families, and environmental variance between families were obtained for all subtests, for verbal, performance, and total IQ, and for the “Cohen factors”. Estimated genetic variance was somewhat higher, and environmental variance between families was less than usually reported, especially for verbal tests.  相似文献

Theories of creativity collectively provide a rich but fragmented knowledge base for research. In order to better understand the nature of creativity, investigators must provide a more coherent theoretical foundation by integrating many theories from different disciplines. Unfortunately, interdisciplinary groups of theorists who attempt collaborative theoretic integration have trouble finding common conceptual ground for their unification efforts. The implicit influence of metaphor on thought causes some of these difficulties, but metaphor also holds potential for bridging the conceptual gaps between differing theoretical and philosophical positions. Interdisciplinary teams of theorists can engage in parallel processes of metaphorical exploration and nonmetaphorical verification to illuminate the barriers to integration, and to capitalize on the integrative potential of metaphoric thought.  相似文献

A study with male process schizophrenics suggested that the Picture Arrangement (PA) subtest of the WAIS was related to a measure of social competence. There was evidence that the PA subtest may measure an entity such as social intelligence which is different from overall intelligence.  相似文献

An observant cognitive therapy patient reported that the first dysfunctional thought elicited and treated in homework sessions was more resistant to change than later distorted thoughts. To determine whether this was due to the fact that this thought was elicited first, or to the fact that it was treated first, systematic data were collected from 9 patients in 48 sessions of cognitive therapy. In half of these sessions, dysfunctional thoughts were treated in the order they were elicited; in half of the sessions, they were treated in the reverse order. Results showed that the first dysfunctional thought elicited changed least; there was no effect of order of treatment. Several possible explanations of this finding are offered.  相似文献

Using the convergence between Bion and Matte‐Blanco, in this article the author attempts to stress the view of the psychoanalytical method as promoter of expansion of the ability of the patient to think his emotional experiences. After a brief résumé of the ideas of both Bion and Matte‐Blanco, certain points of congruence between the two are emphasised: the way of perceiving the range of phenomena observed by psychoanalysis, intuition as a method for observing this field, the feelings as the raw material for thinking, and the importance of the concept of infinity in psychoanalysis. The way in which the ideas of Matte‐Blanco assist in the understanding of Bion's propositions is highlighted. Following these correlations, the author discusses certain questions pertinent to the psychoanalytical method and proposes a model in which the analyst acts as a mediator/catalyst in the process of revision of the ways in which the patient has organised his emotional experiences and the theories constructed to support these hypotheses.
