Psychology and Modern Science

Modern science, since Galileo, has been founded upon the conviction that a scientific theory must be both empirical and logical. Modern cognitive psychologists, however, tend to oscillate between empiricism and logiC., as is characteristic of dualistic approaches, rather than to emphasize both criteria at the same time. Unfortunately, some of these cognitivists have argued that modern physics is completely in agreement with cognitive psychology. This argument has produced confusion in modern psychology.

     

Goethe's Faust and the Myth of Modern Man

The drama of Faust opens with an encounter of the Lord and Mephisto in negotiation about the soul of the human being; it is completed with the revelation of a transformed God-image, that is, with a hymn on the Eternal Feminine. In between a long process can be traced, full of opportunities and failures. The process is carried by the human being Faust—though, unfortunately, unconscious to him. He represents the human being whose wholeness of soul seeks realization. He is driven by a thirst for knowledge, a hunger for life, by desire for prestige in the outer world, and—last but not least—by an unappeased yearning for love. Enthralled by a creative urge, he does not see the demonic side of psychic forces with which he gets involved, and so he falls victim to them. He becomes entangled with the darkness and all possible guilt. It seems to be the task of our time to become conscious about the ambivalence of the spirit of nature—here represented by Mephisto—to realize the revealed symbols of reconciliation and to carry our necessary responsibilities. We would thereby contribute importantly to the renewal of our God-image.     

马克思人的精神解放的理论实质及现代价值

社会越是向前发展,人们实践越是复杂,时代变革越是强烈,就越需要哲学,因为哲学是一个时代最精致、最深刻的思想.今天中国人需要的是解放的哲学,是解放中国人精神的哲学.人的精神解放既是马克思人学理论的重要内容,也是马克思人的解放理论的重要组成部分.马克思人的解放理论是以人的自我解放为历史前提,以人的生活境况为现实依据,以人的精神解放为最终目标和检验标准的.那么,马克思关于人的精神解放理论的实质、路径以及研究这一理论的重大价值又是什么?笔者循着这一研究思想在本文展开探讨.     

现代针灸学研究应当警惕被文化绑架

针灸学的文化属性由其漫长的历史积淀特质所决定,针灸学的科学属性由其在现实中治疗疾病的有效性及其机制的探索过程所决定.针灸学的文化属性与科学属性犹如硬币的正反两面永远无法分离,但无法实现同一个角度的双面认识.不能以其文化属性而排斥科学属性,不能利用文化角度的认识方法和认识结果取代科学角度的探索方法和探索结果,反之亦然.文化的针灸可以努力固守,以保个性的纯洁与永恒;但科学的针灸需要不断发展,以超越个性文化而走向科学大同.现代针灸学研究应当警惕被文化绑架.

随着介入治疗技术在临床的广泛应用,目前已成为治疗冠心病（CAD）的主要方法之一。目前国内外指南一致推荐对于CAD的大多数de novo病变常规置入支架,可有效减少单纯球囊扩张的并发症和再狭窄的发生率,但支架内再狭窄的形成又日益突出,成为严重影响介入治疗远期疗效的主要问题。对再狭窄发生机制的研究近十年来取得诸多新进展,对其发生机制的研究和探索为解决这个世纪难题提供了理论基础和依据。本文应用现代系统科学的自组织理论,从哲学角度深入认识和理解这一病理过程。

The Contingency of Creation and Modern Science

The Bible reveals a free, contingent act of the triune, personal God as the origin of the world. This paper explores the fruitfulness of taking the contingency of creation as the starting-point for our thinking about the natural world. We will see that the contingency of creation implies a conception of the natural order which is in harmony with modern science. It is the foundation for the experimental method and the use of mathematics, provides an understanding of contingent laws of nature, shows that natural order is open to historical evolution, and makes room for chance and novelty.
