Andres Behring Breivik, the perpetrator of the 22/7/11 terrorist attacks in Norway, was profoundly inspired by what has become known as the Eurabia genre. Behring Breivik's 1516-page cut-and-paste tract, 2083: A European Declaration of Independence, makes extensive reference to Eurabia authors, and most prominently to the blog essays of the Norwegian extreme right-wing blogger “Fjordman,” also known as Peder Are Nøstvold Jensen. A popular transnational genre found in both film and literature, the Eurabia genre is central to understanding the worldviews of extreme right-wing “counter-jihadists.” It is a conspiratorial genre in which a central rhetorical trope is that Europe is on the verge of being taken over by Muslims. It alleges that European Muslims want to establish continent-wide Islamic domination in the form of an Islamic state or a caliphate, using higher fertility rates and immigration as their main means of achieving this. The Eurabia genre has, however, hitherto received limited academic attention. In this article, I use the insights of critical discourse analysis in order to analyse some central contributions to this profoundly Islamophobic genre and its popularization and political mainstreaming in Norway in the past decade.  相似文献

人类无意识模仿是指人们在社会交流时会相互无意识地模仿对方的一些动作、表情和行为方式。其在个体社会认知以及人际交流上扮演着重要的角色。通过回顾近十年来人类无意识模仿的各个领域内的研究进展, 以及分析无意识模仿的行为学效应, 脑神经机制以及病理学调控, 可以得出如下结论:所有神经层面以及行为层面的人类无意识模仿现象都是社会交流的产物。该观点在澄清无意识模仿神经机制以及促进幼儿社会认知发展方面具有一定启示意义, 而探索孤独症患者无意识模仿障碍的病理机制有望为该领域的未来研究开启新的方向。  相似文献

Manual-based treatments (therapist manuals, child workbooks) exist for the treatment of anxiety disorders in youth. The current article describes a cognitive-behavioral treatment program, Coping Cat, for childhood anxiety, with an emphasis on its flexible application and implementation as well as video components to demonstrate aspects of the program. The Coping Cat program, in the context of a favorable working relationship, uses relaxation, cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and exposure tasks to help youth learn to identify and cope with their anxious arousal. Video components and case vignettes are used to bring life to the organizational framework used in the program: the FEAR plan. The FEAR plan, which provides youth with an acronym to recall their acquired skills, is defined and illustrated. Recommendations for the flexible application of the manual-based treatment of anxious youth are provided.  相似文献

Does the relation of (actual) causation admit of degrees? Is it sensible to say, for example, that ‘as compared to his consuming the light beer, Clement's consuming the moonshine was more a cause of his becoming drunk’? Suppose the answer is ‘yes’. Suppose also that country A unjustifiably ignites a lethal war with country B, and you intuit that, while most combatants of A are liable to lethal counterattack, most non-combatants of A aren't similarly liable. Then, you might support your intuition by reasoning as follows. ‘Perhaps most non-combatants of A causally contribute to A's unjust, lethal war effort. However, unlike most combatants of A, their causal contributions are not of such a degree that makes them liable to lethal counterattack’. Such reasoning is rejected by Carolina Sartorio. This is due to the recent revealing of a certain puzzle, one which suggests to Sartorio that causation does not come in degrees. Now, one motivation for Sartorio's reaction to the aforementioned puzzle is her thought that we can, for the most part, ‘explain away’ the ‘illusion’ that causation comes in degrees. I will argue that Sartorio insufficiently supports her foregoing thought. Using Sartorio's resources, we cannot (largely) ‘explain away’ the widespread appearance that causation comes in degrees.  相似文献

The three papers by Lauren Levine, Deborah Dowd, and Sharon Ziv Beiman present clinical experiences with women patients that touch deep areas of openness for patient and analyst alike. Through their generous and evocative material, and the invitation of a male discussant, all parties are drawn into a powerful sense of mutual vulnerability. Painful mis-attunements occur and are courageously addressed by the writers. The purpose of this study was to understand how parents who identify as Christian responded to and coped with their child's disclosure of same-sex sexuality and/or having a lesbian, gay, or bisexual identity (LGB). Research has shown the effect parental responses can have on the psychological health of sexual minorities, as well as the emotions Christian parents may experience post disclosure. Little research highlights the struggle Christian parents can experience due to tension between their religious beliefs and the love they have for their child.
