This article describes my journey in learning to negotiate the shamanic realm, also referred to as the psychoid, the imaginal, or as subtle energies. Although The Red Book records Jung's work in this realm where healing occurs, analytic training too often does not emphasize the development of these spiritual tools. As a result of a series of unusual experiences, I had to seek an unconventional spiritual teacher to complete my own initiation as an analyst and then find my own way. The substance of the shamanic realm is discussed as well as placement of psyche.  相似文献

At the heart of the current debate about immigration we find a conflict of convictions. Many people seem to believe that a country has a right to decide who to let in and who to keep out, but quite often they appear equally committed to the view that it is morally wrong to expel someone from within the borders of their country if that would seriously jeopardise the person in question. While the first conviction leads to stricter border controls in an attempt to prevent would-be immigrants from entering the country illegally, the latter conviction ensures that aliens with a legitimate claim on protection will not be removed forcibly. It is not strange, therefore, that the task of pinning down a morally sound immigration policy is such an elusive enterprise.
In this paper I take it for granted that no electorate would be prepared to accept the kind of policy they ought to, and that we in consequence will continue to let in as few immigrants as is currently the case. Given this constraint I argue against two common assumptions concerning a viable immigration policy. First, granted that certain conditions are satisfied, professional smugglers should not face legal sanctions for bringing asylum seekers to a potential host country. Second, countries that limit immigration should not treat people seeking family reunion preferentially or on a par with other immigrants, but rather act so as to maximise the number of refugees allowed to enter.  相似文献

Abstract:  A reading of Paul and Matthew on Christian obedience suggests that the polemic against 'law' is not directed to all forms of religious practice, but instead only to a particular set of religious practices developed by Israel's sages. Law should not therefore be opposed to grace; instead the correct opposition is between the 'law' taught as the proper way of living before God by the majority of rabbis and the law of Christ, taught by Paul, Matthew and others.  相似文献

Willard Quine has recently defended his brand of scientific realism and naturalism (1992). He has expanded his defense (1993, 1996), utilizing observation sentences in their holophrastic guise. He also argues that the latter bear "... significantly on the epistemology of ontology" and provide for the commensurability of theories. I argue that they fail in all these tasks. Further, Quine's long-standing commitment to a kind of scientific realism, on the one hand, and his frequent employment of proxy functions and the rejection of transcendental metaphysics, on the other, constitute an untenable position. A consistent Quinean must abandon scientific realism and ontology.  相似文献

《易经》作为占筮之书,是一个蕴涵有深刻哲理的、独特的认识系统。之所以独特,不仅是因为其以“象”为思维符号,更在于其卦象、卦爻辞和爻数的紧密结合方式。倘若《易经》只有六十四种卦象而没有附着于每卦下面的那些卦辞和爻辞,那么这些卦象充其量只是一些线条刻画或几何符号,它们有什么意义?不可得而知。这正如现在考古者在一些洞穴中所发现的某些壁刻图案一样,不知它们的意义、所指何在。但有了卦爻辞后,《易经》这些线条符号就成了卦象,就取得了“象”符号的认识论意义和价值。同时,倘若不把现在我们称为卦、爻辞的这些文字附着在这些卦…  相似文献

在中国哲学史上,儒家学说为其主流思想.在儒家内部,"道统"起着划分哲学思想与学术派别界线的作用,是儒学发展的一个内部动力."河汾道统"说在北方影响甚大,它促成了北方儒学的繁荣和发展,然而,由于梁启超在<中国历史研究法>中错误地提出王通及<文中子>为伪,所以使得流传千余年的"河汾道统"说在责伪声中湮没,更有甚者,认为它是哲学史上的笑话.其实,"河汾道统"在中国哲学史上有着特别重要的作用,它上继韩愈,下启朱熹,对儒家发展和传播的作用是举足轻重的.对"河汾道统"说的地位和影响进行哲学和史学的分析,有利于我们梳理中国哲学主流思想--儒家思想的发展和演变.从而使我们更好地把握儒家思想发展的主动脉.  相似文献
