Tempering of martensite in the absence of carbide precipitation leads to carbon partitioning into retained austenite. If the martensite/austenite interface is assumed to remain stationary during this process, the phase compositions reach a condition that has recently been called constrained carbon equilibrium. If iron atoms are sufficiently mobile at the interface, longer partitioning times may lead to migration of the ferrite/austenite interface. The interface may be expected to move in either direction, depending on the specific details of the phase fractions and compositions controlling the chemical potential of iron at the interface. If interface migration occurs during carbon partitioning, the situation is more complicated and conditions could exist where the interface moves first in one direction and then the other.  相似文献

Use of the Digital Equipment Corporation DR8 digital input/output buffer for the PDP-8/E computer is common. However, by itself the DR8 has inadequate output-driving capability for even the smallest laboratory device. High-resolution TEM techniques have been used to investigate the interfacial structure in SiC/Si3N4 composite whiskers grown by a vapour–liquid–solid process. On one side of the whisker a coherent interface with the relationship of (111)β-SiC∥(102) α-Si3N4 has been observed, on the other side the interface is (111)β-SiC∥(114)α-Si3N4.  相似文献

Methods are described for construction and use of an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter system which is interfaced with a PDP-8/E through the State Systems interface. Eight bits of one input word are used to bring the results of A/D conversion into the accumulator, and four bits of an output word supply convert and channel-select pulses for the A/D converter and associated eight-channel multiplexer. With a Datei ADC-EH8B1 A/D converter, which digitizes a sample in 4.0 microsec, the system software can perform a conversion in 18.8 microsec. Approximate cost of parts for fabricating the hardware is about $120. Examples of software incorporating the A/D capability are presented for a laboratory computer system used to measure operant response force.  相似文献

A ‘multiple-proposition (MP) phenomenon’ is a putative counterexample to the widespread implicit assumption that a simple indicative sentence (relative to a context of utterance) semantically expresses at most one proposition. Several philosophers and linguists (including Stephen Neale and Chris Potts) have recently developed hypotheses concerning this notion. The guiding questions motivating this research are: (1) Is there an interesting and homogenous semantic category of MP phenomena? (2) If so, what is the import? Do MP theories have any relevance to important current questions in the study of language? I motivate an affirmative answer to (1), and then argue that MP theorizing is quite relevant to debates at the semantics/pragmatics interface.  相似文献

Force of disk press responses by inbred (C57BL/6 and BALB/c) and outbred (CD-1) mice were measured with a PC/DOS-based system, which allowed for continuous measurement of pressing, as well as for control of reinforcer presentation on the basis of response-force dimensions. Photobeam-based measurement of mouse entry into a hopper where reinforcers were presented provided additional information about anticipatory and consumatory behavior in relation to environmental stimuli leading up to reinforcer delivery Disk pressing was generated and measured with the use of an analog-to-digital interface with all three mouse strains. The strains differed in the physical and temporal characteristics of the disk press, as well as in the behavioral chain leading to reinforcer presentation. These measurement methods appear well suited for quantitating functional behavioral differences occasioned by genetic variations in mice.  相似文献

In piezoelectric nanocomposites, surface/interface plays an important role in determining the size-dependent behavior of media. Within the framework of couple stress, the effect of surface/interface around a nano-hole on the anti-plane electro-mechanical behavior is examined. By introducing a surface/interface model, the stress and electric displacement effects on the size-dependent behavior are both considered. The governing equations in piezoelectric materials are decoupled into the classical ones. The displacement and electric potential are expressed by Bessel functions. By satisfying the boundary conditions around the hole with the interface/surface effect, the expanded coefficients are obtained. Through analysis, it is shown that the mechanical and electrical fields drastically depend on the relative size of the hole with respect to the characteristic length of the material. The effects of couple stresses on the stress and electric field are also addressed. Comparison with the existing results is also given.  相似文献

The number of areas of interface between psychology and law enforcement has grown sharply in the past few decades. At the same time the field of law enforcement-related psychology has acquired increased knowledge and sophistication based on extensive research and practical experience. Areas of interface between law enforcement and psychology include selection of police officer candidates; fitness-for-duty evaluations; prevention and treatment of stress-related disorders; hostage negotiation; psychological profiling of terrorists and mass murderers; and eyewitness testimony. The atomistic structure of the 3C-SiC/Si(001) interface has been investigated using a combination of aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy and a newly developed image processing method for eliminating artificial contrast. The structures having periods four times longer than those of the silicon lattice have been observed distinctly in images taken along both Si[110] and Si[100] directions. Contrary to theoretical models proposed previously, the interface of the three-dimensional structural model that we constructed on the basis of our experiments has a silicon-rich configuration. We have clarified that the strain field induced by the two-dimensional misfit between Si(001)-(4?×?4) and SiC(001)-(5?×?5) is relaxed by the two-dimensional network of misfit dislocations; simple edge dislocations with [100] and [010] directions and Lomer dislocations with [110] and [110] directions. The atomistic structures of the Lomer dislocations have been also clarified.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The interaction between interfacial dislocations and γ/γ′ interface is critical to the high temperature creep properties of single crystal superalloys. However, only a few studies have paid attention to the detailed structure such as local interfacial morphologies and the elemental distribution around interfacial dislocations. In this paper, the interfacial protrusions and related dislocations in a single crystal superalloy after creep at high temperature – low stress have been investigated in detail. It is found that the morphology and size of the interfacial protrusions remain almost the same during the early and middle stages of high temperature creep, which indicates a local equilibrium at the interfacial protrusions. Steps at different height are formed at the γ/γ′ interface at the initial stage of high temperature creep since dislocations could move along the γ/γ′ interface, which indicates that dislocation motion at different creep stage may affect the morphology of γ/γ′ interface.  相似文献

This paper describes a simple and efficient method to increase the D/A output resolution of an 8-bit microcomputer, as exemplified on the Apple II. The “distributive method” can increase the final output resolution up to 32K with two 8-bit analogic channels. Edge misfit dislocations (MDs) formed as result of reactions between 60° glissile threading dislocations and 60° MDs lying on an intersecting glide plane were found in strained GeSi-on-Si(001) and Ge-on-InGaAs/GaAs films. It was demonstrated that dislocations penetrating from the InGaAs buffer layer to the strained Ge film can provoke formation of not only 60° MDs, but also edge MDs on the interface even at minor mismatch of the lattice parameters of the film and the InGaAs/GaAs virtual substrate.  相似文献
