中国心理学会史百年新诠

经过文献查找,作者发现中华心理学会成立于1921年8月□日。中华心理学会成立之后,创办了亚洲第一份专业期刊《心理》杂志,在北京召开纪念会并留下合影,并陆续召开了几次学术演讲会。1927年学会停办。1937年1月中国心理学会在南京重新成立,半年后又再次停办。待到1949年之后中国心理学会才再次经过筹备,于1955年8月正式成立。1956 年 11 月《心理学报》创刊, 1966 年 5 月停刊。1977年11月,中国心理学会再次恢复活动,并走上正常发展的道路。作为学术共同体的中国心理学会,随着中国政治的动荡而起起伏伏。自1977年以来,中国心理学走上了健康而迅猛发展的道路,也必将成为国际心理学舞台上不可或缺的力量。

Wittgenstein on Reading

The section on reading occupies quite a large amount of space in the Philosophical Investigations (PI) and Wittgenstein makes little changes to it in the course of composing the book. This shows that the section on reading is important. This paper analyzes Wittgenstein’s treatment of the philosophical problem of reading in detail. It shows that Wittgenstein rejects six philosophical ideas about what reading is and employs three different methods. This paper also shows that the section on reading is not only important for grasping Wittgenstein’s discussion on understanding, but also for comprehending the whole of PI.     

Sigmund Freud: Four Centenary Addresses by Ernest Jones

Group psychotherapists, primarily members of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, were surveyed to determine their practice and attitude toward inclusion of patients receiving psychotropic medication in their “typical” outpatient psychotherapy groups. One hundred forty-three questionnaire responses were received from 258 contacted practitioners (55.4% return rate). More than two-thirds of the physicians, social workers, and psychologists reported including medicated members, and the professions did not significantly differ. Mood disordered patients were most frequently and schizophrenic and manic patients were least frequently reported to receive medication.

Overall, clinicians' attitudes favored including medicated patients in the group. Indeed, therapists did not view inclusion of drugs as a detriment to the treatment process. Clinicians having only one medicated patient in their group felt more strongly that such individuals did not interfere with the treatment process when compared with those having none or more than one medicated patient. The one difference by discipline was that social workers and psychologists did not endorse the idea that medicated patients needed to be in groups led by psychiatrists.     

The Effects of Oral and Silent Reading on Reading Comprehension

This study examined the effects of reading mode (oral and silent) and text genre (narrative and expository) on fourth graders’ reading comprehension. While controlling for prior reading ability of 48 participants, we measured comprehension. Using a repeated measured design, data were analyzed using analysis of covariance, paired t-tests, and correlational statistics. Results revealed that silent reading was stronger for narrative passages in retell measures, but there was no difference for comprehension questions. The expository passages revealed no difference between the reading modes. Comprehension of narrative texts was consistently stronger than expository texts in both silent and oral reading.
