Abstract

In psychoanalytic literature, it is generally acknowledged that long‐term psychoanalyses may well be accompanied with troublesome termination problems. Our purpose is to examine this issue from one humanistic perspective. Such a critique allows us to conclude that there are identifiable psychoanalytic principles and methods that play a large hand in actively constructing troublesome termination problems. Proposals are given to modify these principles and methods to enable the ending of long‐term psychoanalyses without such troublesome termination problems.

According to the hermeneutical theory of the evolution of conciousness, the development of a new relationship between our species and the biosphere may be encouraged by monitoring political and ecological variables or indicators, and feeding them back into society through broadcasting media. This possibility was foreseen by Richardson in 1919, as a means for avoiding wars. In this paper we describe a practical implementation of this program, based on the animated atlas technique.
