关于医学专业精神的几个问题

职业与专业有所不同。医学专业精神基于医学专业的特点而产生,起着维护医学专业的社会责任和规范医疗行为的作用。医学专业的核心理念是病人健康利益高于一切,且具有历史的继承性与时代性的特点。医疗自治权的获得是医学专业形成和医学专业精神从自发走向自觉的标志。医学专业精神首先依赖医生的自律,但同时也需要来自外界的社会调控。

Understanding Engineering Professionalism: A Reflection on the Rights of Engineers

Engineering societies such as the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and associated entities have defined engineering and professionalism in such a way as to require the benefit of humanity (NSPE 2009a, Engineering Education Resource Document. NSPE Position Statements. Governmental Relations). This requirement has been an unnecessary and unfortunate “add-on.” The trend of the profession to favor the idea of requiring the benefit of humanity for professionalism violates an engineer’s rights. It applies political pressure that dissuades from inquiry, approaches to new knowledge and technologies, and the presentation, publication, and use of designs and research findings. Moreover, a more politically neutral definition of engineering and/or professionalism devoid of required service or benefit to mankind does not violate adherence to strong ethical standards.

通过论述医师职业精神的特征及其与外部环境的关系,分析当前影响医师职业精神构建所需的诸如社会、环境、法律等外部环境因素,并提出相关对策,得出结论为:构建医师职业精神,仅靠医师群体的自律和行业自省,而忽视社会、体制和法律等外部环境对其影响作用和保障作用显然是不够的,需要政府、社会、法律、医院以及医师的共同努力.     

The Mini-Conference: Teaching Professionalism Through Student Involvement

Professional orientation courses typically provide important knowledge about professional organizations, standards, credentials, and roles. Knowledge alone, however, may not instill a sense of professionalism in counseling students. This article describes one teaching method that seems to foster behaviors and attitudes that characterize professionalism.     

Unified Ethical Standards: A Challenge for Professionalism

Multiple codes of ethics exist for counseling professionals. This situation creates confusion for consumers and professionals and is counterproductive to the efforts of counseling to establish itself as a true profession. This article describes the relationships among ethics documents of the American Counseling Association and its divisions, national voluntary certification boards, state licensure boards, and counseling specialties; discusses problems inherent in having multiple codes; and suggests actions that might be taken toward the establishment of a single, generally accepted code that would support the goal of becoming a unified profession.

生命教育:医学生职业精神教育的核心内容

首先明确医科大学生职业精神教育应以生命教育为核心内容;继而指出在生命认知、死亡教育的基础上;强化生命责任教育、生命价值教育应突出医学的职业特征;以培养医科学生对医学职业精神的理性认识;最后阐述医科大学生职业精神教育应遵循教育内容与医学教育实践结合;与诊疗工作相结合的基本原则.     

职业精神与弱势病人

医学职业研究所对美国医生的现实行为的调查说明:医生们是相信且赞同职业精神在对待弱势病人方面的关键信条的;增强美国医生的职业精神的努力,也应该包括努力转变医生照顾弱势病人的行为方面。但是,增强职业精神的努力不仅要通过书本上的或理论上的教育,也应该包括致力于制定使医生更容易履行这些义务的实践政策,提供体制上的支持可使医生更容易做他们已经知道其应该做的行为。
