华西圣教书会的文字事工及其衰落（1920-1941）

华西圣教书会于1899年初成立于重庆，是基督教在华西地区最重要的文字机构之一，与位于成都的华英书局相呼应。本文主要论述该书会1920-1941年期间的出版、发行状况，对其创刊以来的经费来源做了说明。并分析其在华西文字中心地位下降乃至衰落的原因。本文为《华西圣教书会的文字事工及其影响（1899-1919）》的续篇。     

基督教在华西的中文期刊——《希望月刊》

《希望月刊》(Christian Hope)创刊于1924年1月,由四川美道会(后改名中华基督教会四川大会)主办。其经费来源主要由加拿大英美布道会负担常年费用,美道会承担分销任务。为了增加订户,保证刊物的运行,《希望月刊》社采取了打折促销、提倡赠阅、送货上门等多种措施,并设法建立作者队伍。该刊的宗旨为解答教义、增进知识、提高道德、讨论问题、联络会友等。《希望月刊》的题材虽有许多宗教内容,但也有不少世俗社会的知识,如世界见闻和科学常识。1952年7月该刊与《青年问题》合并成立《新希望月刊》。

本文主要围绕着中国基督教青年会所开展的社会服务事工,来探讨它的神学意义,从而引起对社会服务事工的再思考。中国基督教青年会的社会服务事工在其百年历程中,对中国社会的历史和现今都有所贡献,为基督耶稣做了美好的见证。中国基督教青年会社会服务事工具有"四性":即教会性、服务性、专业性、适应性。

“施比受更为有福”——上海基督教社会服务事工的实践

新中国成立后,中国基督徒开展了三自爱国运动,一方面改变了"洋教"对基督教产生的消极负面影响,摘掉"洋教"的帽子,与人民相认同;另一方面,积极阐释基督教福音真理,包括爱的福音信息,投身于社会服务和建设。五十多年来,中国基督教有了崭新的面貌,福音事工蓬勃开展,教会日益兴旺。就以上海来讲,现有信徒18.7万多,有教堂162座,教牧同工362位,还有一所神学院,妇女事工组、青年事工组等各项事工迅速发展。

本文主要介绍上世纪40年代的一份基督教刊物《青年问题》关注社会、关注人生、关注青年人格塑造的主要特点。这些特点至今仍有很强的现实意义,仍然闪烁着时代的光茫。     

民国时期金陵神学院乡村文字事工——《乡村教会》研究

《乡村教会》是金陵神学院乡村教会科在抗战期间迁移成都后创办,旨在阐明基督教思想,促进乡村教会事工,同时负担着相应的使命；栏目形式多样,内容丰富充实；在编辑们苦心经营下,保证优质稿源,满足读者群所需,保障基本经费,由不定期逐渐转变为定期,并维持出版至建国初；对行销之地的乡村经济和文化产生了一定影响.     

中国基督教唯一的公开发行刊物《天风》复刊

1980年10月20日,《天风》复刊了!这是中国基督教三自爱国运动委员会自改革开放后唯一一份公开发行的刊物。该刊于1945年由吴耀宗先生在四川成都创刊,先后经历两次停刊。第一次于1946年3月停刊,同年8月在上海复刊。第二次是从“文革”开始,《天风》被作为“牛鬼蛇神”而扫进“历史的垃圾堆”,从而被迫停刊。作为1980年10月中国基督教第三届全国会议后首份成果,《天风》的复刊对于中国教会向世界展示新的面貌,有着极其重要的意义。     

A Christian Rationale for Vegetarianism

Abstract :  This article lays out an argument for vegetarianism based on a Christian theological rationale, specifically on a new articulation of a Christian anthropology for the 21^st century. What I suggest is that an exploration of what it means to be human in a contemporary first world context leads to the conclusion that vegetarianism is a logical expression of one's understanding of oneself as a Christian, and one's exercise of one's Christian faith and discipleship.

Christian Counseling: A Synthesis of Psychological and Christian Concepts

Strong describes an approach to counseling that synthesizes psychological processes of change with theological concepts of the Christian faith. Clients are assumed to be self-directing and responsible for their behavior, including the changes that counseling is intended to facilitate. The counselor's junction is to equip clients to enable them to change. The key objectives in Christian counseling are described and the counseling process is reviewed in the light of these objectives. The author discusses the place of justification, responsibility, forgiveness, grace, sin, responsible loving, and prayer in the counseling process. Francis Mc Guire makes a response to Strong's article from a perspective that views Zen Buddhism as an integrated psychospiritual system capable of offering a critique and a complementary viewpoint. Herman Slotkin 's think piece is an attempt to define and clarify some of the language and goals of moral education and propose a civic, nonsectarian perspective regarding value and moral awareness.

A Research Agenda for Christian Schools

This report describes a project conducted to determine the areas of research required to support Christian schools as they carry out their task in a changing world. The project was carried out through an email survey and phone interviews of leaders of schools associated with two Christian school organizations—the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Christian Schools International (CSI). The survey sample included school-based educators, university professors, and education coordinators of the two Christian school support organizations. The topic that received the most concern and response specific to Christian schools is the integration of school mission and practice.
