Daily Bible Studies at the Week of Meetings

The Bible passages for Monday morning worship and Bible study for the rest of the week were chosen to help staff reflect on their personal and organizational responses and responsibilities to the poor. The Bible study resource was prepared by Simon Oxley to maximize time for discussion in groups within the Week of Meetings programme and to be helpful to individuals in their own personal reflections. The passages remind us that the health of the community and of the land depends on our ethical behaviour. The way we respond to the poor, powerless and oppressed is an indication of the reality of our relationship with God. This is true for us as individuals and collectively. The passages ask questions of us as the World Council of Churches, not only of our various programmes but of the whole organization.
