In the analysis of multifactor, longitudinal data, it has long been the practice of investigators to factor analyze the data in each time period separately and then compare the factor structures by eye. This has obvious problems and various measures of similarity were devised, none of which really worked properly. In recent years, other procedures have been proposed to better handle these sorts of data (i.e., Corballis, 1970; Jöreskog, 1970; Tucker, 1966). Tucker’s solution is termed “3-mode factor analysis,” which is essentially the Eckart-Young decomposition of a set of matrices that are derived by collapsing a tensor of order three. It has the advantage of combining the factor analyzes of each time period and indicating how the changes occur.  相似文献

The Spectral Analysis Program is designed to perform the following kinds of spectral analysis, using the Cooley-Tukey Fast Fourier Transform Algorithm: cross correlation, cross power spectrum, Fourier transform, inverse Fourier transform, and double Fourier transform (the process of transforming two real functions simultaneously). These operations are performed on two blocks of core that can be filled through time-sequential sampling of an external analog signal or from previously sampled data that have been stored on DECtape. Through the use of nine Teletype commands, the user can manipulate input and output and select a particular type of spectral analysis. Output may be displayed on a 30D scope stored on DECtape or turned into hard copy by a Calcomp plotter used for processing neuroelectric data at the Stanley Cobb Laboratories for Psychiatric Research.  相似文献

A program is presented that solves for an optimal transformation of data that minimizes skew. Various possible transformations are represented by a function that depends upon a single parameter, λ. A process of iterative approximations is employed to find a value of λ that will transform the data so as to produce a third moment equal to zero. The transformation found by this process may be used as computed or used to indicate which of the commonly employed transformations will most adequately counteract skew. The use of this program in processing data before analysis of variance is discussed.  相似文献

A ratio scale of subjective magnitude is developed from paired-comparison data. The model attempts to combine arguments of Restle, Ekman, and Luce relating data obtained from paired comparisons and corresponding data from direct psychophysical scaling methods at the ratio level. The basic set-theoretical model involves the use of imperfectly nested sets. A numerical example illustrates the application of the theory.This research was supported by the Swedish Social Science Research Council and by the Swedish Board of Computing Machinery. A microprocessor system can be used both to control aversive conditioning (classical, signaled and Sidman avoidance, and conflict) experiments and to acquire behavioral data in multiple subjects at a fraction of the cost of solid state systems. The software described in this paper can be used to program tones and shocks and count responses, independently, in up to 12 animals simultaneously.  相似文献
