This study aims to identify worker profiles in terms of psychological well-being at work, burnout and contextual performance, based on the two-dimensional conceptualization of psychological health (Keyes, 2009) and the job performance model of Borman and Motowidlo (1993). To do so, 1037 Quebec workers responded to self-reported questionnaires. Cluster analyzes revealed four profiles of workers: two convergent profiles, representing high psychological health and performance at work (32%), and low psychological health and performance at work (17%), as well as two paradoxical profiles, one presenting low psychological health and high contextual performance (23%), and one presenting high psychological health and low contextual performance (28%). These profiles were compared quantitatively and qualitatively. In the light of the conservation of resources theory (Hobfoll, 1989, 2001), these results extend and nuance the existing scientific literature on the health-performance relationship.  相似文献

The current scientific debate on the relationship between psychological development and culture has been given different labels. These labels not only indicate divergent methodological approaches and heterogeneous research interests, but also represent distinct national scientific traditions. The authors suggest making a distinction between three main perspectives, namely “Cross-Cultural Psychology”, “Cultural Psychology” and “Psychologie Interculturelle”; a specific German approach called “Kulturpsychologie” is also briefly touched upon. These perspectives are described as distinct types of conceptual approaches and research strategies on the relationship between psychology and culture.  相似文献

The research undertaken in the fields of socio-cognitive psychology, psychology socio-history, the psychology of the language showed the significant role that the context plays in the human activities. In a psychological situation of evaluation, these contextual influences (statutes, waitings, finalities, projects…) largely the representations and motivations of the children direct and in consequences their performances. From a comparative cultural approach, this study shows in what the answers provided in situation of evaluation try to control the dynamic report/ratio which articulates the internal logic of the task and its social logic which makes of any work an activity of communication to pragmatic aiming. In the production of this answer, the report/ratio with the knowledge of the child and his report/ratio with the context are closely dependent.  相似文献

This text aims to show the continuing interest in using the “canonical” method of investigation in work psychodynamics in the context of what is commonly called the managerial turning point. In order to demonstrate this methodology, the authors will rely on a survey conducted in a U.M.R of science called “hard science” following a recommendation of the Agency for evaluation of research and higher education. We will raise the impact of this intervention, allowing participants to think about their work relationship and the necessary modalities in order to do it continuously well, within the managerial logic context.  相似文献

Each revision of the law on bioethics triggers a political and social debate in public space and communication. This article examines the analysis of this arena of discourse during the second revision of the bioethics law in 2011, in order to observe what representational systems are involved by the members of the French parliament to think about and discuss on these socially important issues. The purpose of the study was to present an adaptation of the Minnesota Satisfaction questionnaire (MSQ) for workers with mental disorders. Based on a sample of 181 respondents, the alpha coefficients indicated high reliability for all scores. The average scores of satisfaction are high for these workers. The original and theoretical two-factor model demonstrated inadequate model fit. A four-factor 17-item model provided an acceptable fit to the data. The results are discussed in the light of previous studies; suggestions for professional use and for future research are proposed.  相似文献

As regards human cloning, should the convention process – which failed at UN level following several years of procrastination – be relaunched? A United Nations University report (September 2007) and, subsequently, certain reflections on behalf of the International Bioethics Committee, point to the fact that an international convention, banning human reproductive cloning, could emerge in the near future. This convention – the content of which calls for pragmatism and humanism – is at the convergence of several choices. Even though the institutional framework of the UNESCO appears more suitable than that of the United Nations Organization, ambiguities remain regarding convention policy that need to be carefully considered: should a treaty only ban reproductive cloning, without considering, in the same treaty, regulations governing therapeutic cloning, or should both reproductive and therapeutic cloning be approached in a single treaty instrument?  相似文献

The positive psychology movement promotes a better quality of life and subjective well being for all people of every age. The supporters of this approach acknowledge the problems associated with aging, but emphasize the possibility of personal development and happiness in the third and fourth ages. From the numerous suggestions proposed by researchers, we recommend three methods, the efficiency of which is demonstrated by empirical results: the use of our signature strengths, the pursuit of our significant goals and the experiencing of flow (optimal experience). The movement of a body is defined as a variation of its position in time (dx/dt). However, referring to time to describe a movement does not imply that the production of a biological movement necessitates an explicit control of the temporal parameters, and even less that such a control has to be performed with the help of a clock. In this review of the literature, we will try to show, through an analysis of the protocols used, that the answer to this question critically depends on the motor task to be performed. IntroductionLimited instruments are available to measure candidate's cognitive integration of the feedback in the context of individual psychological assessment related to the work context.ObjectiveThe objective of this article is to validate a questionnaire measuring two dimensions of feedback integration: feedback acceptance and awareness gained from feedback.MethodTwo studies were conducted with candidates who completed a questionnaire further to their individual psychological assessment feedback session. A first study (n = 111) was conducted to explore the factor structure and psychometric properties of the questionnaire. A second study (n = 178) was conducted to confirm the questionnaire factor structure and to substantiate the nomological and discriminant validity of its two dimensions.ResultsResults confirm that the questionnaire measures the two hypothesized dimensions which are only moderately correlated. Nomological and discriminant validity were established by showing that the two dimensions are correlated with meaningful antecedents and outcomes following a distinctive expected pattern for acceptance (more related to assessor’ perceived expertise) and awareness (more related to perceived message relevance and intent to act upon feedback).DiscussionGiving preliminary evidences of reliability and validity, this questionnaire can be used by practitioners and researchers to study candidates’ cognitive integration of feedback.  相似文献

ObjectiveThe experience and psychological consequences of a miscarriage have been widely studied but mainly among women. This qualitative study aims to examine the experience of men whose woman has had a spontaneous abortion.MethodThirteen men who have lost an early pregnancy during the five past years participated to a semi-directive interview. The interview was based on the analytical framework previously established and took into account various themes such as psychological experience, marital relationship, guilt, coping strategies, social support given to the spouse, and significance of the loss. All the interviews have been transcribed and studied with a thematic analyse.ResultsResults underline the difficulties linked to the experience of miscarriage among men. Many of them were shocked and have had a sustainable significant distress expressed by sadness, tears or depressive symptoms. In addition to their own difficulties, men have to confront women's distress and want to be a support. Guilt was expressed more or less directly, concerning the miscarriage but also concerning men's reactions toward women. Some of them who encountered psychological problems found very difficult not to be able to support their wife. A miscarriage is a difficult event for a couple and two men interviewed separated shortly after. Several coping strategies were used by men, the most common were seeking social support and avoidance. As in women, significance of the loss was different among men, some of them have lost a child, others an embryo or a life project.ConclusionResults show the variety of feelings and reactions of men that highlight the need to consider their psychological distress. While all men are not equally involved in miscarriage, difficulties encountered by some of them can last several months. Given this results, support interventions for males seems interesting.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the nature of the explanations produced by nurses when they are questioned about professional situations related with professional exhaustion such as burnout (BO), independently of a real-life situation of BO. The analysis of the 30 nurses’ adherences to causal explanations scale constructed and validated for this purpose showed greater adherence to internal causal explanations, both controllable and non-controllable, as explanations under external causalities, whatever the professional situation mentioned. The discussion focuses on the relevance of a psychosocial approach of explanations of the BO situations and its implications in terms of primary prevention of psychosocial risks in occupational context.  相似文献

Professional career paths are nowadays marked by multiple transitions. Job loss is one of the most frequent causes of professional transitions. Given this emphasis, recent studies questioned a possible evolution of the “work” norm, the emergence of an “unemployment norm” and its effects on job seekers. This paper proposes to contribute to the discussion on the current evolution of the relation to work and unemployment. At first, the results of a study with 500 unemployed people, who completed a questionnaire on work centrality and on the perception of work, will be presented. Then, a discourse analysis on the meaning and meaningfulness of work of 15 working people will be discussed. The results show the central function of work and the relative normalization of unemployment.  相似文献

IntroductionThe self-concept clarity scale (SCC, Campbell et al., 1996) measures the extent to which self-beliefs are perceived as clearly defined, internally consistent and temporally stable.ObjectiveThe study aimed at testing the reliability and validity of a French version of the SCC scale and its relevance to predict the relationship between self-concept and vocational preference.MethodThree studies have been conducted on a total sample of 1114 participants (691 women) aged 15 and 62.ResultsResults revealed that the French version of the SCC had a unidimensional factor structure and high levels of internal consistency and temporal stability (study 1). As predicted, high SCC scores were independently associated with high self-esteem, high conscientiousness, high agreeability, low neuroticism and low social comparison orientation (study 2). Finally, a criterion validity argument was provided by demonstrating that high SCC scores predicted high matching degree between self-concept and occupational preference prototype (study 3).ConclusionThe psychometric properties of the French version of SCC are satisfactory and comparable to those of the English original scale. The use of the SCC scale in academic guidance and career counseling is therefore discussed.  相似文献

This article presents a comparative study between two types of organizations in order to examine the influence of the empowering leadership style on employee's well-being and affective commitment. Based on a questionnaire filled-in by 428 employees, the results highlight the positive effect of empowering leadership on the collaborator's affective commitment, through a partial mediation of the well-being. Contrary to our expectations, this effect is not stronger within the “empowering” organization compared to the “classic” one. The identification of the specific effects of each four dimensions of empowering leadership brings some new theoretical insights and invites organizations to promote managerial practices relying on meaning at work and trust.  相似文献
