| Abstract: | To investigate the expression of DNMT1 and PDCD4 in human gastric carcinoma and their clinical significance, applying immunohistochemical staining method, the expressions of DNMT1 and PDCD4 were detected in the samples of gastric ＂adenocarcinoma（ n= 62） ,intraepithelial neoplasia （ n= 36） ,intestinal metaplasia（n= 27） and normal gastric mucosa （ n= 20） ,and the correlations between DNMT1, PDCD4 and clinical pathological parameters were analyzed. There was a significant overexpression of DNMT1 in gastric adenocarcinoma, nevertheless, the expression of PDCD4 is at a low lever. There was a negative correlation between DNMT1 and PDCD4（P= 0. 000）. The expression rates of DNMT1 and PDCD4 were related closely to tumor differentiation（ P〈0.05）. Therefore,the abnormal expression of PDCD4 and DNMT1 might play an important role in occurrence and development of gastric carcinoma, DNMT1 may participate in the inactivation of PDCD4 expression through methylation mechanism. |
